fraudulent collections
Checked my mail today and i have received 2 seperate pieces of mail from this copany claiming i owe money on two phone numbers i have never even had. After reading about this company i know know they are a fraud and i will not ne sending them a dime of money for anything they "claim" i owe.

Fake billing statement
I received a bill from AFNI, Inc for $334.07. In this bill they offer me a settlement of half, $167.04. I called them and this was for a house I lived at over 10 years ago...Are you kidding me ? All of the bills in that house were listed under my Father-in-Law's name. Not mine. This is total crap. After reading all these complaints on here Im damn sure not going to pay this. These people are out of there minds. Im following the proper steps to basically tell them there full of it. I can only hope everyone else does the same. Lets show these clowns who there dealing with. Im not putting up with it, and neither should anyone else.

Terrible company
I received a bill from afni saying that I owed Verizon money for a phone number I no longer have. And had no outstanding balance. They stated that they would accept half of the 130.00 balance if I paid online or credit card by mail.

debt older than 7 years old
AFNI sent me to collection. My credit score went from 780 to 595 and guess how i figured that out? I applied for a mortgage...Never late on a payment, what happened is that i lived in a house with many roomates. i moved out, cancelled the service, they never did, my ex roomates continued to use the service...This was their mistake for not cancelling the service, i contacted Verizon to have it cancelled. This happened in 2001, we are early 2009 and they ruined my credit and all the projects i have, i am so deceived and disgusted...

False Information
This company sent me a notice that I owed AT&T Mobility $1274.76. I have only had two cell account one was Celluar One, they no longer exist where I am, and Verizon which I have been with since 1997. They claim in 2001 or 2002 I used this company for phone service and ran up a bill to the tune of $1274.76. I wrote a letter to them after a screaming match on the phone with a woman in God knows where. In the letter the advised them they have the incorrect person and that I want them to cease. I received a letter today that this letter is to inform you that in accordance with 15 USC 1692 c(c) we are acknowledging your request to cease communication with you regarding this debt.
This letter is from a debt collector. Consumers have the right to inspect their credit.
What a Joke and a rip off if anyone has any advice for me please e=mail me at [email protected]

Unauthorized charges
'AFNI Inc' fraudulently drafted funds out of my checking account. First, illegally obtained my account number. Then STOLE OVER $700.00!! I thank God that my bank rectified the theft and re-deposited MY money. If your bank (monetary holding company) is worth the money you let it hold, they should do the same for you!

bill paid in full 2/08 now trying to be paid again. the 3rd time since paying bill
this bill was paid in full to charter communications back in feb of 2008. charter has this as paid in full.. this collections company has been told by myself and charter communications that it was paid in full . now almost 1 year later i recieve a "settlement" letter for the paid bill...

Scam Debt Collector
I received a bill from them from 2000 for 35.00. I sent them a letter like this one http://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/sampleletter9.txte5c
In return I got a letter from them telling me they made a mistake and they will take no further action. It was all very simple and cost me about $5 to sent the letter return receipt request. I realize I was lucky they only wanted $35.00 from me. I almost paid them just to get rid of them. It was all very simple in the end. And I filed a complaint with my State Attorney General and the FTC. By law you have 30 days to dispute any charges. The only way to keep the rats in the sewer where they belong is to fight back.

Zombie Debt
Buying "zombie" and "false" debt from AT&T, MCI, and AT&T Mobility! We also need to file complaints with the companies that are selling our information! Accordiing the the FBI's definition of money laundering, these cases would seem to apply, here, because most of the monies they are collecting are NOT going to the original companies to begin with! Check it out on the FBI's website! Also I've reported the companies that have sold our information to the Attorney General's Office, Georgia State Consumer Protection Agency, The Governor of Georgia, and to Peter King, director of Homeland Security. Who knows who and where OUR information is being sold to! This is real scary! I've also e-mailed Nancy Polski, Speaker of the House, demanding that something be done about this! I would highly suggest we all take similar action! It may help change things to help secure our personal information! Good Luck everyone, our country is going where, and what's with the handbasket?

Attempt to Collect on Fictitious Phone Bill
I received a letter from AFNI in Bloomington Illinois about a T-Mobile phone bill for $1730.21. I have never had a T-Mobile account and credit reports from reputable agencies (Experian) less than 1 month ago. As far as I can see, AFNI is a bully company that uses harrassment techniquest to try to make people pay fictitious bills so they can get back to a normal life. I can only hope the good citizens of this country fight back and find a way to put this kind of anti-social organization out of business.
