This was the worse shopping/service experience ever!!!
We choose this location because it was the closest to our house. The store is so small that can hardly accommodate 10 people. Anyway, we placed an order for a tuxedo two weeks prior to the wedding: they didn’t allow me to try it on at that time. When we went for pick up, 4 days prior to our event, the tuxedo was so worn out that you can see the scamps coming out of it, on top of that the pants were like some rapper pants, so very large in the crutch-and this is after they took all the “appropriate measurements”. They took the measurements again and promise to fix it by Friday evening at 7.30. Friday, finally, everything was ok except one thing: when I tried the pants they were too long. They said they will take them in, to shorten them and to come back in one hour, which would be at 8. 30 and at 9 they were closing. Besides the fact that it was Friday evening and we had so many thing to do for our wedding, when we picked them up we realized they were take in with a visible thread on the outside, one with transparent plastic thread and the other with black. Unbelievable! Worthy of Guinness Book!!! When we asked for explanations the girl said that the girl who did the alteration already left home and she can not do anything about it. Imagine, only half a day away from our wedding... Nightmare! Not to mention that we paid in full at the time we ordered it!!!
So, it was Friday evening, at 8.30 and no where to take the pants to be fixed. Saturday came, our wedding day, and we had to look all over Chicago in order to find an alteration shop to fix the mess; besides time consuming factor and the stress, we had to pay, again, for a service we already paid for at After Hours!!!
We called the corporate office at least 10 times but with no results, no refund what so ever: we left messages after messages, and still until this day nobody did a thing!!!
P.S. On top of all these things, when I decided to change something, a little thing, like the tie, they wanted to charge us 20 dollars, just because at the time when we decided what color, they didn’t let you try it on and when I was allowed to try it on, at the time of the pick up, the red tie we chose didn’t go well with my face!!! Everywhere in this world, they allow you to see if it fits you, color, style and all the rest but not at After Hours Formal Wear!!! We went and bought our own tie for half the price of renting fee.
