I worked for Aftermath. I experienced first hand the lying cheating and stealing this company has done. Lying to the customers about how "Insurance will cover the cost of services", lying about ho long the job will take and what things are required by law to increase hours. Several times I witnessed people in the corporate office instructing the supervisor to lie to the customer and to sabotage the scene to increase the work load. The supervisor is restricted from giving an estimate and will lose their job if they do. Employees have stolen from jobs while telling the customers the personal property was "contaminated" and had to be disposed of. Employees have prayed on the emotions of the customers and one employee in particular actually slept with the customers daughter after her brother had committed suicide. That employee received a proverbial pad on the back from his supervisors, but ended up removing him from the company when a sexual harassment suit was filed. DO NOT HIRE these people. There are plenty of other companies that will no over charge you or lie. I know the work you need done is upsetting and I know it feels like you need it done right this second. Do yourself a favor and take a little time to get an estimate. Theres a reason why Aftermath Inc was the first thing that popped up in your browser. They are stealing lots and lots of money from people and can afford to out advertise the companies that are honest.

I to have worked for Aftermath in the past and I fully agree with thee above comment by (Anonymous0001). The dishonesty, cheating, stealing, and everything that a professional company should not be. It sickens me that someone (Chris Wilson) starts a company with the people in mind, those that are suffering or have been through something so traumatic could allow or even agree and continue things in this way, but it is VERY obvious that he doesn't care.
More times than not we would receive a call for a job that was in a different state. Please keep in mind that Aftermath says they are stationed in every state and will be on location within 2-3 hours. For example: the Las Vegas crew covered almost all of the west coast. The only states not covered by Las Vegas were northern California, Oregon, and Washington. You can't even get to Reno in 2-3 hours. I’m saying this because when we contacted the customer we were trained to lie from the get go and tell them that we were currently assisting another customer and would be there as soon as possible when in truth we would drive 100mph to try and get to the destination.
We had another incident that occurred where we were called for a job in Arizona. At the time my current supervisor (James Belcher) thought that he may be losing his job. He said that he was in contact with another bio-remediation company so he purposely lost the job for us and recommended another company to the customer and said that they could do it for half the price. I brought this to your attention because if you don't do exactly as Aftermath tells you then consider yourself terminated with a nice lawsuit on your hands.
Aftermath made it very clear that every job that we responded to was to be at least 21 hours or more no matter what had taken place. I was sent on a job in Los Angeles for a suicide and there was a 1' x 1' section affected with blood on the mattress. 1 hour job at the most. This was a self-paying customer as well. The Regional Director of Aftermath (Dwayne Braden) said to stretch it out to 4 hours. Can you believe this? SERIOUSLY?!)
The message I am trying to get across is make sure you do your homework on these companies before you use them. Like the above comment said: I know the work you need done is upsetting and I know it feels like you need it done right this second. Do yourself a favor and take a little time to get an estimate. Aftermath has spent the past 15 years preying on the weak. Do you really want someone coming into your home and sleeping with one of your daughters or anyone else? (Read the above comment) How much more disrespectful can you get? Let's do everything we can to get rid of this company. Remember, there are still good people out there that actually care about you and your family.

I have a Bio hazard cleaning company and have had many run in's with Aftermath, Inc. coming into my territory. Not only are they known for price gouging, but are also known for throwing away the Bio waste in trash cans at complexes and or the dump. They also will charge the consumer for the proper removal and disposal while illegally dumping.
We started this business to get rid of ass***** like this in the industry, there are tones of them out there and they are like rats feeding on emotions.
Just an example we did a bid against them their bid was over $9700.00, we did not know the company had their bid and we came in at $2300.00 which was profitable but reasonable. The lady laughed and threw the Aftermath bid at us and said "Who the hell do these people think they are!" We looked at the bid in horror... How can a 2 man 8hr job justify that much! After we finished the manager said they called her 3times each time lowering the price and only if cash was paid immediately. Needless to say the manager told us "How can a, " professional company, " think another professional business can come up with that much cash!"
I would like to plug my company but do to the fact they (Aftermath, Inc.) would probably cry slander.(B.S.) The need for more drama is not worth it for me. The way they rip people off and lie about everything, there is no telling what they are capable of.
Please lets try to stop them!!!

Aftermath is a total rip off!! My sister and 2 other people where murdered on 2/25/10 in her home. Aftermath was called and we where told that they could be there in 2 hours after the police released the house. The 2 hours turned in to all most 14 hours. They came at about 6 pm and my husband was asked to show them where the house was at(hard to find in the woods) the team went in and took photo ($100.00) and then shoved a service agreement at my husband. He was not authorize to sign anything for my sister only I had that. Then the fun began. They said that it would take 2 days to clean the house that turn in to 4 days because they went and did another job then came back. They were going to just leave the cut up items in the house but I checked and the insurance company would pay for a dumster for them to put the items in. They said that they would secure the house that did not happen either. They left big holes in the floor did not cover them at all. Oh by the way the insurance company had been told before hand that Aftermath would do the work and gave the ok for them to do it. Now here is the brake down the house is a 1991 48 X 28 Fleetwood mobile home insured value 66, 000.00. Aftermathes charges 1 team supervisor for 32.75 hours price 9661.25, 2 technician 32.75 hours each total for both 18, 667.50, job set up & dispatch to scene 395.00, equipment/machinery (must of been the rent a van) 350.00, boi-hazard containers sealed 8 total 3, 128.00 dumpster 586.44, supplies (what supplies no break down) 5, 272.97, photos 100.00 (must have been good film), certificate of treatment 75.00 and the good 15% for extraneous expenses and charges must be 1st class motel, steak dinners, beer and a good time for a grand total of 43, 971.58. Aftermath submitted the bill to the insurance company late at that with no photes, photes sent 2 weeks later. Then on April 19th I get a letter that they are going to file a mechanice lien on the house still Aftermath has not sent the info the insurance company asked for. I called Mr. Smith at Aftermath and told him that if they wanted to be paid they had to send the right info to the insurance company he told me to turn my anger over the letter about the lien at the insurance company and get him paid I told him NO WAY would I be his collection company for him send the info the insurance company needed. On May 3rd Aftermath filed the lien. Still did not send the info to the insurance company. The insurance company had 2 other companys bid on this job by what info Aftermath had sent to them one came back with12, 000.00 and the other came back with 17, 000.00. Now Aftermath is sending Certified mail to my house in my sisters name like she can sign for it. This company should not have a license the way they treat the family after the loss of a loved one and talk about price gouging. This company has done nothing in my book worth 43, 971.58. But has made me buy tum's and asprin in the large size.

I agree with TheCleaner. I too own my own Cime Scene Cleaning/Trauma cleaning company and this service can be provided to families and property managers at a reasonable, sane price. THe charges I am reading above are incredible... To date, the largest bill I have submitted was for a little over $8000 - 4 days of 12 hours of work for myself and my partner and 6 bins needing disposal.
To think there are companies like this preying on people when they are most in need... In the cases where there is litigation, can you claim emotional distress at the time of contractual agreement?

I can't comment on their practices or their work because I do not work for them and now I'm glad I do not. They advertised for a good worker 4 times in a six month period. I replied each time. I did not get a pesponse till the fourth time. I finally got an interview. They told me my file would be on hold for future jobs...Bull shit!. I have great work history, great references, everything they were looking for except knowing someone. They only wanted to hire relitives or friends. After reading about their work ethics I'm glad I didn't get the job. I'm too good a worker to work for a crap orginization like this.

Government Actions
On September 30, 2010 Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray reached an agreement with Aftermath, Inc. to curb deceptive tactics used by Aftermath.
Cordray alleged to Aftermath that engage in acts and practice that violate the Consumer Sales Practice Act and the Repairs or Services Rule of Ohio. Cordray alleges that Aftermath fails to provide consumers with an estimate and/or fails to contact the consumer to obtain authorization when the cost of repairs or service will amount to ten percent or more of the estimate. Furthermore, Cordray alleges that Aftermath fails to provide the consumer with a form that indicates the date, the identity of the supplier, the consumer's name and telephone number, the reasonably anticipated completion date and, the right to a choice of estimate before the commencement of any repair or service. Allegedly Aftermath limits the statute of limitations from two years to one year, requires the consumer to waive their consumer protection rights. Cordray also claims that Aftermath fails to provide the consumer with the proper emergency exemption, which must include a separate handwritten, dated, and signed statement from the buyer describing the situation that requires an immediate remedy and expressly acknowledging and waiving the right to cancel the sale within 3 days.
Cordray alleges that Aftermath fails to provide the consumer with the three day right to cancel by failing to provide the consumer with a notice of the three-day right to cancel clearly and conspicuously on the top of the consumer's contract. Finally, Cordray alleges that Aftermath fails to provide the consumer with a pre-completed, easily detachable notice of cancellation form, in duplicate, that contains the language specified by the Consumers Sales Practices Act, and they require the consumer to waive any rights to which the buyer is entitled under the Consumers Sales Practices Act.
In an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance with Cordray, Aftermath has agreed to conduct its business in compliance with all applicable Ohio laws, including without limitation, the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act and the Home Solicitation Act.
As part of the agreement, UMG agreed to pay the Office of the Ohio Attorney General $15, 000 for attorneys fees and investigative costs.
