unethical practice
I have used Agoda a few times and can only say I will NEVER do this again ! Before Christmas I had my dates mixed up for a Singapore booking and had to cancel. This is free with other search engines. Agoda charges however despite the fact that the canx is free with the hotel . This cost me £30 due to the conversion with US$. Then I booked another hotel in Singapore and they quoted me £112 per night . Then the amount for 4 nights was £533 (apparently due to the tax- which they say usually is included) . When I had my confirmation it was £566 . I called them, sent them e-mail and had absolutely no reply . They are thieves, no more. They quote you in whatever currency and then convert in US$ and charge you in your currency- you have to bear this cost. So my advice, they should be banned.

don't use agoda
Do not use Agoda.
Last week I try to use Agoda to book for my hotel in Thailand. I book two rooms. One suite and one deluxe. but later i found out the system has replaced my reservation to two deluxe room and one is about 1800+ another one is 3400+. not only the room's type is wrong the date is also wrong. Because i book the hotel in last minute. And so they refuse to any kind of refund because of their 3 days policy, and they claim they follow the confirmation letter.
Try to explain to them about their system failure with their confirmation letter(which had happened before). Seemed like as long as the system failure is helping them to cheat money, they really don't care much.

Cheating with no respect to customers
I made two hotel booking with agoda. the first one, they did not give me a way to change dates or cancel the booking and they charged me USD 142.42. I sent them a lot of emails, but they did not respond. I talked to them through the life chat support and they kept cutting some of the policy and paste and sent it back to me. finally I lost my money

the second case I booked a hotel for 10 nights and when I arrived at the hotel I got shocked because it was less than 2 stars and they advertized it as 3 starts. It was dirty and away from the beach while they advertized that it is righ on hte beach. I contacted them several time to giive me only 4 or 5 days instead of 10 days, but they already had the money from my credit card. So again I lost my mone qround USD 1200.

Do Not Use - Not Reputable
Do not use Agoda if you expect a partial refund, refund, cancellation, amending dates, etc. Although they appear to be flexible, they are not. Use other sites before you use Agoda. You can read through the various complaints on this website to get a good. I wish I did.

Hotel reservation Thailand
This Travel service "Agoda" is really very tricky. Keep your hands off!!! Once you pay your money, you have no more right whatsoever. In several ways they trick you: (a) they say they have "Best Price Garantuee" but we found a better price and then they refuse with cheap excuses such as "the other offer was different because the cancellation policy is different". If only one word is different in a competing offer, it does not count anymore. And more imprtantly (b) they said we can cancel 3 days before arrival. But all of a sudden when we tried to really cancel more than 3 days before they say the arrival date does not count and the booking date does not count. So all of a sudden it is actually 5 days!!! Very tricky. Dear travelers - please keep your hands off this. They provide highly misleading information. DO NOT BOOK WITH AGODA IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE CHEATED, would be my personal advice.

Never use Agoda to book your reservations for a holiday. i booked with them and when i tried to change my dates they refused to change it stating that if i cancel i will be liable for the full amount. they have taken the money out of my credit card but refuse to help me change the dates. never will i deal with this company again and i have informed all my friends too. i will also post this on facebook and send it around the world for all my friends to see.

Refuse to correct mis-booking
I booked a hotel that Agoda's site said was in Puebla, Mexico, but the actual city it was in was Heroica Puebla de Zaragosa. Not only did they refuse to cancel the booking, but they never called or e-mailed me after multiple calls and e-mails FROM me, each of which prompted a promise to contact me within 24 hours. When they finally did get in touch with me, well after that period, they simply provided me with the full address of the hotel in the wrong city, a thousand miles away. When I complained that they clearly hadn't even bothered reading my e-mails, they responded that their cancellation fee is 100 percent of the room rate. First off, that's obscene, but more annoyingly, it's thoroughly unresponsive. On several of my queries, I asked to speak to a real representative on the phone. Each time they said one would call within 24 hours. None ever called. Now they won't even return my e-mails.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

Hotel Booking
Agoda will charge FULL price of the reservation ifyou ever has a need to cancel a booking. Their website would mislead you, their email also would mislead you that a a 15% of chancellation charge would apply to a cancellation. But in reality, their final cancellation confirmation emal, which came in after the reservation date, would tell you that the cancellation refund = 0.00 USD. What a cheap cheater. I would not book hotels using Agoda anymore in the future. My advice to fellow travelers. Once is enough!

Special promotion was MISLEADING
We recently travelled Asia and booked a few times via Agoda. For one hotel they advertised a special promotion "stay three and pay only two nights". The promotion was valid in the period we were staying there.

We could not figure out how we could benefit from this promotion. When we tried to book, we only saw full price. So we sent an email to Agoda Customer support and received a reply that we should check the period when the promotion was valid, book the rooms and when the period was valid ask for a refund later.

To make a long story short: when we asked for the refund they had all kinds of different excuses. The 'post-sales' department sent us one-liners with different reasons why they would not pay for the refund.

So in the end we feel cheated and MISLEAD, by both the refusal to get the refund, but also about the bad after-sales.

Agoda is maybe easy to book, but beware that you never have to ask for a refund, not for a promotion or for a change of schedule. When your creditvard is charged, the money is gone.
