AGS Fourwinds were contracted to store, then ship all our household contents from Singapore back to the UK. AGS' representative, Charlie Scott, agreed that air conditioned storage was necessary to prevent mould damage to furniture and clothes. To keep costs reasonable, he did not recommend comprehensive insurance. When our shipment was delivered and unpacked, almost every item of clothing and furniture was affected and/or permanently damaged by mould. AGS has refused to admit any liability or compensate us, despite over 20 emails and phone calls. The damage was noted by AGS staff who unpacked the contents, and further photographic evidence was immediately provided to AGS. The damage claimed for repairs was SGD$3, 000 (approx USD$2, 100). AGS insists that because the shipment was not comprehensively insured, they have no liability whatsoever. Charlie Scott was also not contactable as he had left the company.
