horrible service
This company is terrible...I've been trying to modify and no one speaks english...I've been trying to explain to them about the new laws enforced by President Obama...and they staight out asked me " who maame is Mr. Obama? How are you supposed to get help from people who don't understand the problem...Lost cause!

keeping money sent to them in error
In January/09 I retired and recieved a lump sum. I used the money to pay off credit cards. I made a mistake and sent $8300 to American Home Mortgage instead of the credit card. I called AHMSI in Jan/09 to advise them that the money was sent in error, I was told to fax a bank statement and a letter explaining what happened and the money would be returned in 48 hours. After 5 days the money still had not been returned, I called again and was told I had to refax the same information and the money would be returned on Mar 3/2009. Money still not returned on Mar 3, and was asked to fax the info again. I am told they cannot tell me when I will get my money, it is mar 6 I still do not have my money

Mortgage
I have never in my entire life dealt with such a horrible company. Someone should take them to court and sue the life out of them. I fell behind and immediately tried to contact them on how to resolve the situation. Would sit on the phone for hours and hours and each time someone would pick up the phone it was a different person and you would have to explain all over again. I'm at my wits end. We ended up getting a loan mod but with ridiculous terms. I asked for paperwork to be sent to me before I sent in a check for $12, 000 and they said they don't do that until they receive my $!!! Are you kidding me? I spoke with some guy in India and could not understand him whatsoever! Who is regulating these people?? I'm ready to walk off and they can have my home which is not worth what I owe and shove it! Don't ever do business with these people, they are scam artists and sharks! Stay out of the water!

Complete lack of communication
AHMSI clearly has NO regard for individuals. We were ready to close on a bank-owned property that is managed by AHMSI when the latter suddenly, two days before the closing, froze assets without any clear information as to why there was a freeze, nor how long it might last. They have given absolutely no guidance as to whether or not an amend-extend can be signed so that the sale can go through. Simply informing us as to the nature of the problem and how long we can expect this to upset things would have been fine. They just act like no one matters but them.
