We found a foreclosure and submitted an offer-of course it was accepted in 3 days, we were signing papers and submitting all the necessary paperwork and securing our loan. When we got the appraisal back it was significantly lower than our original offer, so our lender was only willing to finance what the home was worth (obviously). Well, we resubmitted our offer at the new price and it has been nearly 5WEEKS and no response!! I dont understand how it can take 3 days to accept our original offer but it takes 5 wks to either tell us yes or no on this addendum to the original price. We haven't asked for anything extra-just an answer either way so we can make other arrangements. Meanwhile we had secured a renter for the home we are in now and we lost them b/c of the time issue and my husband had a job offer (here in town) making overtime and keeping his supervisory position, but he had to stay with the company he's with b/c of the loan app. (Steady work history) and they sent him to Colorado to work for 1/3 less than hes making now--We're told its in the hands of the "Asset Manager", and the Agent representing the seller wont be assertive b/c he risks losing listings from the bank and that is the practice of these individuals- to make agents cower to them and whoever kisses the most butt gets the business.
