Air Canada Reviews

November 27, 2007
telemarketing
A recording from someone claiming to be from Air Canada called this evening, saying we'd won a fabulous vacation in Florida and the Carribean and all the food, "beer, wine, and cocktails" we wanted. Yeah right. They said they got our number because we recently purchased a trip through Air Canada (we had, but we did it through Orbitz).

Then they said we just had to claim our prize by paying $299 per person, and to press "1" to claim the prize. I did, so I could tell them to take me off their list, but then they hung up on me.

This thing stinks of a scam.

Aeroplan miles stripped away
I am another individual that was not aware of Aeroplan's "new policy" and a victim of lost points in this pump and dumb scheme "due to inactivity". For a program that is designed as a customer loyalty mechanism it is a shockingly repugnant and ironic decision I have just discovered. I hope Air canada takes comfort in it's reduced liability in redeemable rewards points it offers to loyal customers... soon there wont be many left of either.

Delays resulting in miss connection
Delay in departure from Quebec City to Montreal resulted in missing connection to Toronto and subsequent missed connection to Sarnia. Sitting in an airport for 5 hours is now my idea of a way to end a trip. Ticketing agent in Montreal was all but blaming me for being late (the plane was still sitting at the door and she would not let us on) Air Canada should include the saying "PAY YOUR MONEY - TAKE YOUR CHANCES" with any of their booking regulations. No sense of responsibility on their part.

Cancelled flight due to weather... no other airlines cancelled
Flight AC222 , June 5.. scheduled to depart at 6:15 pm... checked in... looked at ticket.. departure changed to 8:05 pm. Reason as per AC clerk... and announcement... Mechanical issues. Waiting for plane from SanFransico to arrive and then depart with this plane. Waited till 8:00 pm... announcement that flight is cancelled due to the fact that Calgary Airport had a power failure and all incoming flight are cancelled... I went on -line later... the only flights cancelled was AC222 and the one later... that was it... all other airlines reported minimal delays or on-time... NO CANCELLATION. No report by the airport of a power failure. I feel totally ripped off... i think Air Canada did not want to or could not fly and used weather as a way to not pay for hotels and food. In other words... I want a third party explanation!! I am sure many people will want an explanation once they look into the real status of arrivals into Calgary Airport. This just does not add up!

Unfair service charges
Why should I have to pay extra $20 per reservation for making my booking over the phone when Air Canada web-site " seems to be experiencing some trouble finding a flight date for me... is it not enough with all the EXTRA charges already?I tried many many times to book it on line but it was impossible... and the people who have no internet have no right either? NOT FAIR

I want Air Canada to give me my money back

Thank you

Unwarranted change in itinerary
On 1 September 2006 i booked an online return flight ticket from st. john's newfoundland to boston massechausettes under a seat sale offered by air canada. Departure date: 29 October 2006; Return 4 November 2006.

I purchased the ticket in good faith understanding that my flight departures and arrivals (aka the scheduled flights) would be honoured unless there was some cancellation of the flights i had booked upon.

This is a business trip and i cannot afford lost time for rescheduling.

over the next 10 days (to 11 September 2006), two updates were made to my original itinerary bookings.

As it happens, Air Canada has changed my itinerary which has now placed me on an unacceptable layover in Halifax for 8 (eight) hours on a Saturday.

Again this is a business trip and this rescheduling will force me to charge my employer for overtime which neither i nor my employer anticipated under my original itinerary. Further, i have family obligations on the weekend of my return which will now be interupted.

It is my opinion that Air canada cannot simply book fares at a reduced rate and then move those ticket holders around on different flights at Air Canada's convenience simply to make more money on the high demand flight times.

I booked the flight times on 1 September 2006 because they were most amenable to my business and family scheduling.

I consider the updates Air Canada has proposed to be a breach of promise on the part of Air Canada and expect my original itinerary to be honoured.

Please if you can help me in this matter let me know.

Thank You in advance,

Scott Grant

Rude customer service
I have a credit for a flight from July 21, 2005 when I had to cancel a return only flight from Halifax to Victoria because of car trouble on a cross country trip and could not meet the time to fly home to BC.
I had cancellation Insurance at the time and did think to call them to report this. So I had only one year to use the credit or lose it. As it happens . I have not been unable to rebook due to family problems and request an extension of the time. I would love to take a trip in the next few months .

When my agent from Uniglobe tried to get information on this, she was met with rudeness. Is Air Canada concerned with good public relations????
I look forward to a response.

Thank you,
M. Mac D
