unsatisfactory service
Sir/Madam,
This is to bring to your kind notice that I had procured a Whirlpool - split AC (1.5 Tone Chrome Coral Red) vide invoice no: A/2084 dated 12th May 2010 from Chennai. The AC which was working properly till 01.11.2010 morning. On the same day one of the service engineer came to reinstall the AC in our new house and after the installation it was reported that the AC BOARD is damaged. The concerned person had taken the responsibility to rectify it within 2 days and so far we havn't received any positive response even after 8 days. An amount of Rs. 1800/- is already paid as the full payment for the re installation.

no cooling
i have purchased an a.c from apex airconditioners delhi which is now not cooling its compressor is still in guarantee and i have complained to customer care several times despite of which i have not recieved any call from their engineer. as it is summer time and temprature is very high we are very diturbed. please see through this and make sure that i will soon be replied by the service centre.

Scheduled Maintenance
I scheduled maintenance on my air conditioner unit. I was given a date of April 12 between 1 and 5. After not hearing from the technician, I resorted to calling the offices regarding the visit. At 8pm the technician showed up but didn't have the parts to repair the unit. He said it would be rescheduled for the next day, April 13. I requested priority for the next day. I was given a time frame of 8 to 12 noon. After no one came during this time frame, I started calling again. I was told the technician was running behind (the same thing I was told on April 12) but would come. After 5pm, I called Sears headquarters in Chicago and got absolutely no where with them. All they want to do is give me a $50 gift certificate. I told her I didn't want the gift certificate, I wanted the service I paid for. I never heard from the technician.

Today is April 14 and I have heard nothing from Sears.

I will not buy another maintenance contract. Sales associates are mandated by the company to sell these contracts but when it comes to fulfilling them Sears chooses to ignore the customer. It pains me to say this as I am a Sears Retired Manager. I was with the company for more than 25 years. The company cares nothing for the customers and its employees. Then why wonder what is wrong with your company and why the company's business is not doing well.

I suggest that anyone purchasing merchandise, not ever purchase the maintenance contracts. There are other companies that will sell maintenance contracts cheaper and honor them. One such company is American Residential Services. My neighbor uses them and we have used them and we got better rates and service. They are listed on my community's web site as a prefered and recommended company. I will post my experience with Sears on this web site.

I shop at Sears for one reason only and that is the employee discount.

MAL FUNCTIONING

Sir,
In continuation to the above subject, in spite of repeated repairing by you in the guarantee/warranty period of malfunction of the above air conditioner, no proper remedy has been done or AC replaced
You can check in your records, that in every month of summers, there has been some problem or another (cooling / thermostat/ compressor problem ). Some noise also used to come and your staff had put tape on the AC cover to rectify/ stop it.
After the guarantee/ warranty period was over, the air conditioner again started giving problems. Your authorized service department ‘Mariam Electronic Services (P) Ltd ‘ charged us Rs. 1809/- ( Rupees one thousand eight hundred and nine only) for gas filling vide Bill no. 247 CR No. 12304 dated 26th March 2009 giving three months guarantee.
But the gas leaked within less than two months ( i.e . on 16 May 2009, Claim No. 4013960970, BP No. 8409801582).Again on 29th June 2009 and then on 2nd July 2009, the same gas leakage problem was detected . On 27th July 2009, we again lodged a complaint ( complain no. / BP No. 8409801582) and the executive visited after three four days and detected the same problem promising to rectify it within twenty four hours. But since then, no executive has come inspite of repeated phone calls made by us daily ( four to five times) till date 7th Aug. 2009, 2.41 P.M. This leaves me with no other alternative but to put sticker saying ‘SAY NO TO SAMSUNG “ on all the four air conditioners in my office. Informing you that I am a reputed real estate agent which invites lot of prestigious clients who will in turn see the stickers.
Find enclosed photographs of the stickers on the air conditioners and scanned copies of the purchase bill/ complaints made / gas filling bills etc.
I once again request you to replace the defected Air conditioner to avoid me to take the drastic step of going to consumer court.

Scammed out of Money
Avelino Montalvo led us to believe he was referred to us by our regular guy. Was supposed to install a window air conditioning unit at our office. Cashed the check the day I gave it to him and never showed up with the unit. Turns out my regular air guy has no idea who he is.

customer service
We purchased an a/c and a microwave on 5/11 for our son. In the mean time we had a death in the family, a trip to Oregon, a trip to Wisconsin and trip to Tulsa. On 6/7 we finally got around to putting the a/c in. It did not work. I had no receipt. I called the store and talked to the night customer service manager and told him that we did pay for it with our debit card. He said if we could get the exact dated and approximate time of day it should not be a problem. OK - we did that - took it back the next day. We would have thought we had committed a crime!! OH, we can't get duplicate receipts anymore, they have changed the "policy". She even called the "floor manager". She was so rude. Her words were "you need to learn to keep your receipts" I left the a/c and walked out. They were hollering at me you can call the manufacture. I didn't need the a/c 6 months from now. I feel sure we will just send it back to the company and get their money back. As for me I am out $100. We went down the street bought a better one for the same price @ Home Depot and the man that waited on us was awesome. He needs to give consumer service classes at Wal-Mart. I can't tell you how much $$ we have spent @ Wal-Mart over the years BUT NO MORE!!!

WILL NOT LIVE UP TO SERVICE AGREEMENT
I AM STILL WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONER! IT SEEMS LIKE IT WILL BE TWO MORE WEEKS. I am still waiting on you to up live your service agreement. I bought a service agreement and now I cannot get my air conditioner repaired. I use to think so very highly of your service. If you would check the record, under my name or my wife Shirley, you will see that we have had an agreement to cover several of our appliances, electronics, and air conditioners. Now, I am taking a second thought about your service.

On today, you sent a technician to service the air conditioner. Isn’t that something? He knew nothing about the fan motor not being able to be replaced. He thought it was a service call. My God people! Don’t you communicate? The first technician sent the motor to someplace call the national. National said cannot be repaired. This was two weeks ago. On today, I was promised by national (800-927-7836) that the unit would have to be replaced. Well, on today, your SEARS technician thought he was coming on a yearly service call.

What kind of service is this? The technician does not call to tell me about the unit or leave service orders or anything. I had to call and write you a letter. I sure hope your business is base on good service and not just money. I would like to have my air conditioner repaired. I have suffered for nearly three weeks. I wish someone would tell me something.
