Cheating and scamming customers
I had booked a flight from Raipur to Delhi online for 03rd. March'2007 in name of Mrs. Anindita Banerjee and Ms. Pratistha Banerjee vide PNR No. DA09163922 in Air Deccan for Rs.3998.00.
Due to change in our itinerary, we wanted to reschedule/cancel the tickets.
We logged on to the site, but it did not allow us to reschedule/cancel the same.
Further we tried customer care telephone line of Air Deccan not less than 70-75 times as a routine during 24th.Feb'07 till 28th. Feb'2007 but invain.
Left with no option and since I was traveling to Kolkata by Spicejet had been to the Delhi airport.
There in the AirDeccan counter at Delhi airport the situation was horrifying. The staff was absolutely not willing to take-up the request for cancellation stating that the system is down. Even the Airport Manager was not keen to hear the issue.
Since I was getting delayed, took-up the issue at Air Deccan Airport Office of Kolkata upon reaching there on 28th. February'2007 evening.
However, the staff were a bit co-operative and accepted there is an upgradation of the website resulting in the problems. They immediately accepted to forward the cancellation request to their office.
Thus on 28th. Feb'07 at around 18.05 hrs., mail for cancellation of ticket was forwarded by one Ms. Sanchita of Kolkata Airport office of Air Deccan to their head office with a copy to their refunds sections(perhaps).
On my request to acknowledge the same on the copy of the ticket available with me, the Incharge one South Indian gentleman flatly refused to do so and confirmed that the refund shall be effected within a month.
Thus I was left with only a hope and the name of the staff who had forwarded my message for cancellation i.e. Ms. Sanchita of Air Deccan Airport office at Kolkata.
It is more than two months and we are yet to get the refund on our credit card.
We wonder if Air Deccan is into business of cheating and fraud rather than Airlines.

Poor customer service
We 8 of us booked a Air deccan flight to return from goa to bangalore our flight timing was 6:45 Pm on 2nd May( this is the time we got after two delay notifications) we reached the airport by 4PM itself. THe sign board showing the current status of the flight was showing "DELAYED" till 6:30 pm, but the aircraft was already in runway and boarding(We are not aware of that). We trusted the sign board and kept waiting, we realized this fact little late and went to the deccan office, the response we got from the officer there was absolutely negligent and arrogant.
It required too much of arguments and fightings and blamings... before the deccan officials allowed us to board..it was one hell of a trip we made with deccan.
The ordeal does not end there, once we reached bangalore... we were not allowed to disembark for nearly an hour from the aircraft, because there were three flights already in the Apron..while the flight was stranded... I dont know from where... there comes an Army of mosquitoes that tastes our blood... Atlast after an hour we disembarked..and a sigh of relief came... But I actually underestimated Air deccan... We were asked to board two buses that actually looked like a huge garbage cans..somehow we reached the exit and then came the worst part... our baggages was not delivered..after an hour of searching and quarrellings and fighting... they delivered the baggage... I saw most of the poor passengers who missed there connecting Flights to chennai because of the worst service of Air deccan...
AIR DECCAN is being run by the FILTHY idots of the industry..I had high reverie for Mr.Gopinath having started an Airline to service the middle class people, But having undergone all this I beleive he should have contended himself by running a lorry or truck service not an airline....My humble advice to fellow travellers is by all the means possible try not to travel by AIR DECCAN..

This company is a nightmare!
I did an online booking for a ticket from Guwahati to Kolkata on 2nd May 2007 but received no PNR or ticket. The credit card (VISA) company confirmed the transaction (Rs 2574/-) but Air Deccan Help line says that they cannot see the PNR online so they can't trace the transaction. Gave me a number (080-41585225) which is the contact for the department at Air Deccan handling credit card transactions... number is permanently busy... Tried 178 times (counted)... no go.
Surprisingly ALL THEIR CONTACT NUMBERS keep ringing without any one picking up... tried over 4 days.
These numbers, as published on their website CONTACT page are:
080 41148190-99 /41585000 / 5200
This is a total nightmare!! I found that I am not the only person to suffer... they seem to be making quite a packet from people who don't have the time to bother following up such false transactions.
Regards,
Ujjal Kar

Harsh policies by Air Deccan
I tried booking 10 tickets for Jammu-Srinagar on the 14th April for travel on 11th May 2007
The browser got hanged for more than an hour after taking in the credit cards details. But the ticket was not generated nor was any reference number generated. Another attempt was made after an hour for travel on 10th May 2007 for the same set of passengers and the same sector and the result was same. I received an email the next day informing that both the tickets were confirmed. Because there was no confirmation received till next day, I was compelled to cancel the program. I made frantic attempts to reach on all the listed contacts of Air Deccan but none of the calls were going through.
I approached Air Deccan's Cunningham office and met the authorities who suspect or speculate that my problem is not genuine enough to claim a full refund on both the tickets. They say that I could get refund on only one ticket. This, to me is ridiculous. If the problem is related to Air Deccan's ticketing server which does not respond for hours together and does not issue either a PNR or any other reference online indicating booking confirmation, it is entirely Air Deccan's responsibility to accept the passenger's woes and allow him full refund. Moreover Air Deccan's refund FAQs also talk the same.
In the process of offering lowest cost tickets and under the pretext of being a low fril airlines, Air Deccan is totally getting ignorant of the customer's woes and sufferings.
Sincerely,
Vilas Desai

No response from the call center
I have booked tickets online in air deccan, in which the gender of one of the passengers has been mistakenly put wrong. Its been months that i have been trying to contact air deccan customer care office, but only happen to listen to music of one of the favorite english songs. If my copassenger faces any problem while entering into the airport, its not me who has to be held responsible for this. 24 hour customer care numbers are not replying. Hope someone pays a heed to this and help us.

Problems with cancellation of air tickets!
I had booked a flight from Hyderabad to Kolkata online for 04th March 2007 in the name of Mr. Satyen Parida (PNR 1626926) in Air Deccan. Unfortunately, I wanted to get it canceled on 01st March 2007. However, I kept trying on the net to cancel the ticket online but to no avail as there is no option for cancellation. Further, I tried on the customer care line of Air Deccan as mentioned on their website at least 20 to 25 times. It appeared that all the lines were too busy (don't know in what). Therefore, I had to hire a cab from Gurgaon to New Delhi airport for Rs. 400/- and went to the airport to get my ticket canceled. The uncooperative staff of the said airlines were magnanimous enough to write on my ticket that it has been canceled, although they refused to register my customer complaint. However, the refund to my credit card account is still pending (after nearly a week after it has been canceled). I wonder whether the company is up to committing some fraud or is it just a callous attitude towards the customers.
Beware!

Money refund delay!
I booked Air Deccan flight from Bangalore to Chennai, unfortunately the amount got transferred twice from my account to Air deccan. As per the Air deccan policy it should be refunded within 14 days. I registered complain about the incident and i got the complaint number also. But still my money is not refunded. If i call to customer care either no one is there to answer nor they are giving the improper answer. The delay of the air deccan is quite normal. Don't trust them!
