Poor service
This is regarding Poor service offered by AF staff at the Paris Airport on 10th May2009. I have booked a ticket from Chicago to Mumbai using AF airline. They have given me connecting flights and I had to change the flight at Paris airport. Flight from Paris to Mumbai was scheduled to leave by 10.50am on 10th May 09. First time, they aborted take-off after gaining speed on the runway. They said there was a problem with a switch. Then they fixed the technical problem and the same flight again departed to mumbai on 10th May at around 1 pm. We returned to Paris four hours after take-off. After asking many times for the reason why the flight was rerouted to Paris again when it had laready covered half of the distance, we got only one answer, "Due to technical problem, we have to return to paris". All passengers were taken to the airport’s E terminal and those with European, American or Canadian passports put on a bus and taken to nearby hotels but those without transit visas were made to wait inside the terminal by Air France staff who said they were trying to arrange transit visas through the local police. We were given only 200ml water bottle and a sadwich which was not edible. Half past midnight, they were told the police had refused the transit visas. After being refused transit visas we were not able to even use the airport lounge. There was another security check that did not allow us to carry water bottles. Now we did not even had sufficient water also with us. Also the place where they put us did not had any water fountain. Finally, at 4.30 am, the police finally agreed to give the passengers transit visas. The visa was just a slip of paper with our names that could have been done earlier also.Finally we reached at the hotel by 6.30am on 11th May09. But our return flight was at 1 pm. so we have to report by 10.50am at the airport. So we did not even get a chance to take rest.
