A WONDERFUL FLYING EXPERIENCE
DEAR FRIENDS,
I am a frequent Flyer of Air India Express Airline. My journeys are from Singapore to Chennai, Trichy and Vice Versa. It is one of the best service providers in the world. The Services are
• 24 Hours call center help line in Singapore, but never in your life your call will be attended by Air India Express staff.
• Advanced booking options where most of the time the first name of the passenger is printed as the last name.
• Connectivity across the world, where one flight alone carries passenger to various destinations.
I like to site only one example.
X, X, 2009.
Myself and my mother entered Trichy Airport. I am student of Singapore and my mother was accompanying with me in a Tourist Visa. An Employee of Air India Express came and verified our tickets. The first thing I heard from her, “We cannot allow you mother to travel to Singapore”. I asked why? She told in a casual tone, since she doesn’t have a return ticket and therefore she can’t be allowed to travel. No possible options were told. She didn’t even say that your mother can book a return ticket in Airport itself. Then I asked her about the same. We were asked to wait for 10 min. Then two guys came from the service counter. They walked as if they own this world. Then I told the problem and as per Singapore’s Govt law, a tourist should have a return ticket. Then I booked a ticket at Trichy Airport Itself. I found in the ticket that my mother’s last name was given as the first name. After that we finished the check in. The flight was to arrive at 12.30 PM. It arrived one hour late. After that when the flight arrived, there were two ways to enter to the flight. Later I learnt that the flight carries five types of Passengers.
1) SINGAPORE TO TRICHY (GOT DOWN)
2) SINGAPORE TO CHENNAI (WERE ALREADY IN THE FLIGHT)
3) TRICHY TO CHENNAI (WERE BOARDING FROM THE OTHER SIDE)
4) TRICHY TO SINGAPORE (WE)
5) CHENNAI TO SINGAPORE (FUTURE BOARDERS).
Then at last we boarded the flight. After that the flight took off. I had 2, 3, 4 passengers with me. Since my mother was thirsty I asked the Air hostess for some water. She told she will bring. After that no sign of her at all. The flight finally landed in Chennai after one hour’s journey. Passengers (2) and (3) were asked to get down. We waited in the flight for 30 min. Then an announcement came, where all passengers (4) were asked to get down. Then we were asked to board another flight. We stood in the hot sun at Chennai Airport and again our passports and boarding passes were checked one by one.
At last we boarded the flight and when we entered, other passengers (5) were already in the flight. I was shocked to see that my mother’s seat was taken by somebody else. During the boarding, there were a lot of confusions among passengers and the air hostesses were nowhere to be seen. After half an hour the flight took off and things seemed to be ok.
My mother told she is very hungry and thirsty, so I again called for the Air Hostess. She told she will come in a minute. I saw many passengers who were aged gentlemen were thirsty and almost begging the Air Hostess for Water. But nothing happened, because it is our fate to fly in Air India Express. After two hours of flying we finally got food and water. Then at last we reached Singapore. In the exit, the Air Hostess thanked me for flying with Air India Express. I felt like slapping her.
Wait Wait…The story is not over yet. During Immigration at Changi Airport, I was shocked to see tourist women who traveled with us from Chennai, arrived even without a Singapore Visa. In fact she doesn’t know that she needs a visa. She thought that Passport alone is enough. The authorities asked her, where is the Visa? She got panicked. The authorities in Singapore Airport, calmed her down, asked her not to panic, she was asked to relax for a few minutes and they got her passport and she was given a tourist visa in five minutes at the Airport Itself.
Generally there is no on arrival visa for Indians in Singapore. But there is always a Courtesy Visa. I was amazed by the approach of Singaporean’s and the way they treat and respect people which no person does in Indian Airports.
The comedy is here. The same Air India Express staff who did not allow my mother to travel since she doesn’t have a return ticket, had has allowed one more lady who doesn’t even have a Singapore visa to travel to Singapore.
They utilize the poverty of Indians as a tool to success by offering low cost and worst flying experience.
Moreover they update themselves to prove that they are the worst airline in the world from the Mangalore Incident which killed and ruined the life of many.
If I were asked to rate Air India Express, I would rate it as the number 1 in the world, in a rating which has 5 as the best and 1 as very worst.
Thank you all for Reading.
