Junk mail that doesnt stop. Call quality worse than VoIP calling
Airtel Call Home service is the worst internet calling card service there is out there. Here are my list of woes:
- Call Quality is very bad. There is severe echo in every call so much so that one cannot have a normal conversation
- Call does not connect every time
- If you sign up with them they will add you to their mailing list and spam you for eternity. The only way to contact them to remove yourself is by calling. Guess what called twice and still getting spam.
Airtel should not be allowed to operate in the US - they have the worst customer service that i have seen anywhere. There are others out there who provide a much better service.

Account blocked
I signed up with Airtel callhome for a promotional offer of Nuy One get one free offer and have more than $150 balance. I couldn't use their service effectively because their service was not flexible to add my home number so I didn't use the account for six months and they blocked the account without any notification.
When I call them, they say they can't do anything. They took my money.
THIS IS A SCAM and RIP-OFF. I've tried to talk to the supervisors and was told that is I write to their escalation department, they would look into this. I sent multiple email and NO REPLY so far.
Any suggestions of how I can get them to either re-instate my account or refund my money.

Account blocked
I have an account with Airtel callhome with more than $100 balance. I didn't use the account for six months and they blocked the account without any notification. When I call them, they apologize and they say they can't do anything. They took my money.

Unable to Recharge
Since the time Airtel Call home automated their systems, they have tightened their security rules such that it does not allow me to recharge the account with any credit card. I could use the same credit card else where just fine but when i try to recharge, it says -certain rules in the system are preventing to recharge. The worst part to this is the amount is being billed to the card without any transaction reference, so it takes another one month to get that off my statement. It is frustrating experience. I have spoken to Airtel Call HOme customer care executives and they have not been successful in giving a resolution to me till now. Airtel Sucks...

Cheating to make offer look better
The email offer said unlimited call for a month to India for $19.99.
However, after paying I realised that I can call only for 3000 minutes.
On complaining it to their Customer Care I was asked to refer to the FAQs, where they have mentioned 3000 minutes limitation.
The website or the email body text does not mention this limitation. This is a misrepresentation of the offer designed to dupe the consumers in believing that calls are truly unlimited.

Not letting to unregister my mobile no
I tried to unregister my mobile number from Airtel call home services and the customer support persons are not able to unregister. They said they can never unregister a number from their database as its out of their policy. Can we fight legally to get my number removed from their services? please help me in unregistering.

Eaten up my Minutes!!!
I subscribed to the Original 1 Cent plan from AirtelCallHome on 21-Aug-09 and 600 Mins was put in my account. And then later in the day when i tried to make a call its was showing my balance as 0 mins. I have been following up with the call center managed by IBM Daksh that they have in Chandigarh India but still no progress. They are not giving the minutes back and also they are not returing the amount to my account. i have been given 24 hours commitments Twice to get this query resolved but still no progress. When i try to reach the supervisors then either they are out of office or in another call, in short they are just making excuses not to take the call. Finally when i managed to speak to one of the supervisors, he said that he can return the amount but the tax is will not be returned. Also the customer care executives are rude. My whole purpose of subscribing to this service is lost, and also had a real bad experience dealing with the customer service of airtel.

Recharge problem
I am trying to recharge my Airtel account but it is always coming as 'error on page' and after I complete all information still the recharge button is not enabled.I called up Customer service several times and everytime they say that site is under maintenance.I sent email as well and got reply that the problem is resolved but still same problem.
Customer service is horrible for Airtel.

Misguiding information on website
I got email from Airtel Call home that I can down an application on smart phone and make calls to India without passing through hassles of dialing account no, PIN no and local access no. This application will take care of that.
I have blackberry 8320
Their website shows they support above model. But when I registered they never send me SMS with link. When I called their customer care 877 247 5150 their represntative talked very rudely that WE DO NOT SUPPORT BLACKBARRY...
Isn't it funny because their website also has user manual for using this application on Blackberry phones.
Airtel Call home is worst in dealing with customers.

False Advertising
Airtel has got to be the worst company ever! After so many years of business with them, I've feel ripped off! Their latest crapload is the $14.99 India Max plan. Advertised heavily with the 1 cent per min, this is a perfect example of FALSE ADVERTISING!
What's with the $8.99 Rental Fee ? What AM I RENTING ? I thought I was BUYING minutes ?
So, I called their genius Customer Service [Heck, does any Indian company actually KNOW what CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ??] and they have NO answer to this 'Rental Fee' BS!..woohoo surprise!!
I've already filed a complaint with the FCC and Attorney General in NY and, while not much may come of it, I'll atleast be satisfied I did something about this Rip Off!
I hope they fucking go out of business!!
