Airtel DTH services are waste. False promise and poor CSR reply
False promise.
Airtel DTH customer care is closing complaints without solving them.
Worst Airtel product.
Worst customer care.
I am having Airtel DTH connection( ID : 3004464907). Nowadays I am not getting any signal so I called to customer care and briefed the problem. So he told me to do some basic sanity and correction steps. It didn't work. Finally he suggested me to book a engineer visit. I did the same on (5-Oct-2010). Since then I called them almost 5-6 time and every time I call they generate a new ticket and the worst part is when you tell them not to generate new ticket I wanna stick to old one they don't listen you at all. This way your complain remains always new and when you call again customer care ppl will say its one day old and expected resolve time is still left. This is the trick that you cann't have one day old complain. is not it gr8888888... I guess Airtel is counting the performance of CSR blindly by no of complains he close or open. One of CSR(customer service representative) told me backend team closed the complain saying it is resolved. Thus both CSR and backend team of Airtel DTH is doing gr8 job to close all open issues. today is 10-Oct-2010 and issue is still on. Those guys tells all false promises and facts.
Initially when I was planning to buy DTH connection I choose Airtel because of good will. I thought after sale services of airtel will be better same like other products like mobile and broadband. DTH is no near to those. I guess other cheaper player of DTH is right choice compare to airtel. Airtel DTH sucks. Those who are planning to get DTH stay away from Airtel. All the best.

Worst Service
I am really distraught to see the response & state of affairs of once my favourite company Airtel particularly its DTH services.

It is worth to inform you that I had purchased Rs.999/- Airtel DTH through credit card via telephone on 26 or 27 August 2010 and was promised installation within 72 hours. But the installation was done only on 5 September 2010 after various requests and complaints at 12148/50. Now when the installation was finally done on 5th September, the activation was not done and I was told to wait for 24 hrs more.

I would like to tell you that these commitments proved to just be a crude joke. Earlier executives assured me that they will get it installed within the stipulated time and will do follow up with me, but nobody cared to follow up.

Now that installation has been done they are again delaying my activation. I was told by the customer care office, nodal office, installation division and what not that my request would be looked into but believe me the response has been horrible.

Even my emails were not responded. I request you to kindly get my conversations checked from your customer support, even you will realize how mess has it been now. After all this back and forth conversations, nobody cared to activate it till date.


And why am I writing you is just to convey the rot in some of your offices and to provide me relief. I am an ordinary customer but do not compel me to do some extraordinary things including suing your company for agonizing me.

Being an airtel mobile customer from year 1999, I have not seen such lax approach ever. I wish I had never bought that bullshit DTH connection. It has really pained me and nobody is there to mitigate it.

I now request you to kindly look into the matter and explain to me why I should not take legal course for this agonizing experience I had with your staff and why I should not start a negative publicity campaigns through Internet and word of mouth against your product.

One more thing, the sales managers/coordinators for J & K or Kashmir are horrible staff members this company can ever get. They do not entertain your complaints and just provide excuses.

My suggestion to fellow citizens, never buy an Airtel DTH, it is painful.

Re-Installation is not being done even after calling up 20 times
My Customer ID: 3001819139, i have been asked to relocate my DTH to next building, i had called up 30 times to Customer care and everytime they will say, your issue will get resolved by tomorrow, but the tomorrow has never came, it has been happening from last 5 days. This is an worst experiance so far, and i wud recommend don't go for airtel DTH. The Customer Service in so Pathetic, i made a big mistke by choosing Airtel DTH,

No display showing technical problem
Dear Sir,
No display of DTH Showing Technical problem from 27.08.2010, I call customer care on 29 Aug'10 (Complain no.-3692653) ur Enginner is calling me up on 1st on Sep'10 but no visit at home again on 3rd Sep'10 i call customer care (Complain no.-3738753) and noted down my problem and ensure me to Solve my problem by 10:30 AM
today but Still problem is still same.
Kindly rectify the above problem and resume the DTH Services on early basis.

Without my knowledge the produce is replaced with a new one and i am charged with 500 not aware of it
Have been using airtel DTH 3000998793 from almost 1yr on Saturday the STB is not functioning properly, i have raised a complaint on 24th complaint no 3386305. i was told that ill get a call the next day at 1 pm. what a surprise that i never got a call at all. "wat a service" i had to call on tuesday and redo the service request to send some on on wed that tech changed my STB and have not paired my VC to STB."great service " for which i called again and a new complaint no 3421893 was issued and i was told by the executive sandeep that it will take 2 days to have the stb paired to the vc "great service" . when requested for a supervisor Mr Arvind said that he will have the problem solved in 3hrs time "" impressive" . i get a call from somone else askin if its workin and told me that it will take max 24 hrs to resolve the issue now its 30 hrs and i do not have my service up.

To check on this i spoke to Lal who disconnected the call and then call back to reach imran who again diconnected the call. then spoke to Santhos who was speakin in Tamil to someone " this bugger is not telling me what the problem is " then spoke to Harish who claims to be a supervisor told me that the issue will be resolved by 12pm.

After all this without my knowledge the produce is replaced. with a new one and i am charged with 500 not aware of it. it was as surprise when i saw the msg that it was replaced. i asked for refund else cancel they were happy to have it canceled. and still not ready to give me my refund. also claims that the product belongs to them and ill have to return it. when asked why it has to be returned the person was so rude in saying that the option is 300 rs else cancel.

Airtel DTH after sale service PATHETIC.

I have a Airtel DTH Connection Customer Id: 3001586237.
When I turned on my TV on 18th August, I got a error message B001 on my screen. This error message suggested checking the DTH cabling, I checked the cables to the best of my knowledge and that did not fix the issue.

I called Airtel DTH customer care on 18th August at 10:30 am, They registered my complaint (Complaint # 3591734) with an assurance that an on-field technician will visit my place and fix the issue before 3:15 pm on the same day. However there was no call/no show by any Airtel Representative that day. I tried calling the cell phone number provided by Airtel in their customer complaint opening confirmation SMS, and the person disconnected my call after a couple of rings. I called back
Airtel DTH customer care the same evening around 5:00 pm for a follow-up on my complaint, the Customer service representative had nothing to offer other then asking me to wait for another day and he logged another complaint for the same issue (Complaint # 3595133) with a assurance that my issue will be fixed on the following day before 4:19 pm.

No one called or showed up the next day till 12:00 noon, so I called Airtel DTH customer care back for a follow-up and this time I got another assurance that I will get a callback and an onsite field technician visit later in the day and the issue will be fixed before 4:19 pm. I also reached out to the "Grievance redressal" section of Airtel DTH website.

But history repeats itself and I still have not been contacted by anyone, forget a technician visit to fix the issue. Today is the third day that I am living with this issue.

I have had very good experience in the past with Airtel Broadband customer care and thought that I will have the same experience with Airtel DTH but unfortunately the service is so pathetic that a cable operator would have been able to provide better service than Airtel.

I have demanded a full refund from Airtel and am planning to move back to cable TV.

For those who read this review before planning to purchase Airtel DTH, please reconsider your decision. I don’t know which DTH service provider is better but for sure Airtel DTH service is PATHETIC!!!.

About six months back I was unfortunate enough to get Airtel DTH
About six months back I was unfortunate enough to get Airtel DTH. Since 9th of June, the STB is not working. Despite repeatedly calling up the customer care, no service was provided. No technician came to my house to restore or change the STB. I was also told eventhough they have provided shoddy and negligent service I cannot expect any refund. I called up the customer care for the last time and wanted to speak to the manager. I was put on hold for half an hour, without anyone picking up the call. I am fuming right now. Is there no place in India where we expect justice for this?

Wrong billing / wrong deduction & irresponsible customer care
Airtel DTH service & Airtel DTH customer care is hopeless, they tend to have no information about your account, or their systems are slow, or they will put you on hold saying they will get back with info and never return some times.

0n 29 July 2010, "DTH247" i get a message "your request ADD MEGA12 3001233006 has been processed Order ID is 15166843". I was surprised.

I called airtel DTH customer care the "Executive" told me that some body has requested a "MEGA12" pack from their number to my account.

I told him that i have not requested anything of that sort neither my wife.

I told him any body trying to activate some service for their account might have mistyped a number in their Customer ID, which might have created this confusion.

And moreover their should be a process of double checking that if i did request for this service.

(See if some one wants to call up customer care 12150 to activate any service, then they have to call from the "phone number" registered with the customer ID -- Double check )

(In this case its My Number only. The Customer care confirmed that they did not receive any sms from my registered number.)

But in SMS method they don't have this Double check, they just activate what ever pack or service is requested, from any number to any customer ID.

They should only be taking request from "phone number" registered with the customer ID.

Executive: said only the pack is added to your account and is not yet activated. So he will remove it from my account.


On 02-Aug-2010 the all services are withheld coz their is negative balance.

I call 12150, in the morning around 11 "Sangeeta" Picks the call Says she is just clueless about the promise made by the executive on 29 July, it really put me off. She Lodge the complaint (complaint No. 3458409) She said it would be done in 2 days.

I told her that the mistake is from airtel. And still you say need so much time to resolve it.
The sad thing is i had to explain all the things again. Then she promised that it will be done on high priority.

i had paid for "South Super Value" the basic plan. So they should continue telecasting that and they should only withheld the "Service of New Top-up" in this case Mega12 ie sports channels.

What is the meaning of prepaid when you just activate an top-up without it having sufficient "Balance".

They would not do that if i ask for a Movie And if there is no sufficient balance, they would just tell me to recharge and get back.

But here they Just gone ahead and and deducted existing money and have created negative Balance of Rs. -838.43.

I call 12150, Again After 3 hours I escalated the Problem to Floor Supervisor "Veena" After hearing everything she Promised me that she will send a message to Do it on "High Priority" and it will be resolved by 2 hours.

I call 12150, up in the evening 8:00pm the problem is not solved and i am not able to talk to Miss Veena as she was not available, I got through to another Floor Manager Mr.Naveen. He after Listing to every thing told me that it will be Done by tonight please give me 2 hours time, some body from our end will call you and confirm that it is fixed.

At 10:30 in the night i see the Service is not resumed. I call Up 12150, again I am not able to get to any of the previous floor managers, as they are not available. So again I had to meticulously explain every thing to another floor manager "Lokesh" it took me almost half an hour to explain.

It was all ways a lengthy explanation to every Executive as they pick the call and then to floor manager Every time i called.

Airtel DTh people Just don't care for Customers, they Just behave so insensitive to the inconvenience caused.

So i said i need to talk to you next Senior. "Lokesh" Puts me on hold for almost 5 min, then he said, is transferring the call to senior, the telephone keeps ringing for another 5 min and "Lokesh" gets back to me, to tell there is no Senor available to attend the call. And Told me that my complaint is actually on "Low priority" so it can only be resolved tomorrow.

Airtel Just dose not have the quality of service and costumer care as they did few years back.
I have had Bad Experience with Airtel "PCI Mc internet" connection as well. The Mobile is neither any great.

I just told "Lokesh" i am just hopeless about your service. i will not continue with Airtel DTH once the existing "South Super Value" which would end may be by November, if they put the service back, or else i will discontinue it from this month... its any way discontinued by AIRTEL DTH.

I'm really disappointed with the service that Airetel DTH is providing. I got an error of 'No Signal' and i loggd a complaint which took almost 10 days to get resolved. I had to call around 5 - 7 times a day and i always use to get an common answer that the request has been forwarded and my engineer will get back to you in 2 hours time, but as usual there was no reply from either side. They also provided me few mobile numbers so that i can call personaly but that number were also not working. i really had a bad time and i will never recommend any of my friend to go for it. i'm looking to change my service to DishTV. lets hope i'll get a better service and have a good experience with the new service.
