I am completely exasperated with Airtel services India. To start off with I get unending promotional messages and calls from Airtel at the most weird hours of the day. And I had devised a strategy to deal with it , I saved airtels nos and would not receive calls and would keep deleting their endless messages.
But this once my strategy failed and a friend fiddling with my phone unwittingly subscribed to a value pack service ( I don't even know what it is and have no inclination of finding out). I had 50 bucks deducted automatically.
I tried to call up and unsubscribe but the recorded voice support system at the other end gave me all options except the one I wanted. It is a voice enabled service and very often the dumb computer at the other end doesn't understand what I am saying ( making the customer - in this case me, feel like a complete fool !)
Well, giving them the benefit of doubt, I went to an Airtel office [saharal mall, gurgaon) to get their expert help. I asked the so-called customer care executive to unsubscribe the package for me. She tried for atleast 20 mns to understand and unsubscribe from the dumb voice enabled service but could not even after several trys !! And to think she was an Airtel representative. She told me that she would have the service deactivated in 24 hrs.
I wasn't satisfied but i decided to wait and watch... well my service is not deactivated but while trying to unsubscribe she (the cce) activated another service for which money has again been deducted!!!
This seems to be like a very carefully laid out trap which you can easily fall into, unintentionally but can't get out of. In this entire process, i have wasted my precious time, and money for a service which i have not used and have no intention of using and this money deduction will continue until I unsubscribe to this service which at the moment seems impossible!!!
