Non-activation of GPRS!
I am holding a life time prepaid connection of airtel which was specially taken for internet , for which i had activated GPRS through a GPRS enabled handset. Before for this the charge was Rs.249, suddenly from June month onwards they raised it to Rs.498. Any way I activated it through a recharge voucher of R.498 on june 26,2007.
At that time the customer care executives told that it will take at most 48 hrs.
on next day, ie 27 th June,2007 at about4 p.m., i received a sms from airtel customer care telling that "your GPRS has been activated". But surprisingly, at evening about 10 p.m when I tried to connect internet through my computer a message shown," Subscribe to packet data first." At once I called back customer care help desk, they checked it out and told that it will take nearly 48 hrs, pls cooperate with us, but when i asked them about that sms in which it was clearly told that my GPRS has been activated they politely told plz ignore that message and requested me to call to customer care executive of GPRS section.
In this process the line was disconnected so many times, since i was in trouble i had to call back again... when I called 4th time the call was automatically stopped & my customer care help desk line was also barred... since i called 4 times in a day.
But since my problem was not solved... i had to call back from another connection which was obviously chargeable. Next day ie on 28 th June, the situation was same. I called back again from another no., and i was very irritated when the executive talking with me told that "yes you have certainly recharged with Rs 498 and 48 hrs have expired, but sorry to say we have some technical difficulty thats why it has not been activated, we have taken a complaint of your prob, by 3rd July your problem will be solved".
I was absolutely angry then since i had recharged it on 26 th, & by 3 rd if my prob is to be solved ie after 7 days, then why should we pay too much for this type of poor service? I wanted to talk to a senior officer and surprisingly at once they told your prob will be solved by next 2 hrs. I just didn't understand their strategy. I thought they have recognized their fault. But i was wrong... i was living in a fools paradise.
I had some important online job this month, thats why i recharged it by 26th of July,2007 before expiry of previous recharge, so that i can enjoy an uninterrupted internet connection. But i didn't know that i had bought trouble with Rs 498.
On 30 th july 2007, when i tried to reconnect net via computer an error message was shown..." subscribe to packet data first". Again i had to call back to customer care help desk.. only to confirm whether 48 hrs have gone or they have still some excuses. The only word they have been thought is SORRY. I asked them it is nearly 96 hrs , then why it has not been activated? they again started me telling stories... when i insisted on to talk to higher authorities... they put my line on hold just for an hour, and after 1 hr the line was automatically disconnected. but surprisingly GPRS was activated .
SO one thing is very clear to us that their business is to make public fool. They are simply playing with public money... they don't have any proper system nor they answer properly. Simply they misguide people in various ways.If you can charge them then they will take prompt action , otherwise you have to follow their footsteps. If they are kind enough, you are lucky, you can enjoy normal expected services... otherwise you will get a BIG ZERO.

I was not able to get the information regarding the bill I paid for the month of October 2006, when I contacted customer care at 121. The customer care executive directed me to post a complaint on the website.

Reduction on my balance
20 days back i was using hello tunes facility on airtel on which i did not got it connected and i got 20 rupees deducted for which there is no reason for this amount reduction. There is also no proper customer response just for name sake all these people are operating and my complaint number is 070710529600 and the customer care s name is sandeep. This is the kind of response airtel gives to customer inspite of me calling them several times.

Non-refund of security deposit
I was a customer of Airtel at Srinagar for an year till Jun 2005 as a post paid subscriber. I had submitted security deposit of Rs.1000/- which was to be refunded to me after deduction of my last unpaid bill which was approx Rs.200/-. I had submitted an application to this effect at their Regional office of Srinagar with my forwarding address, as I was moving out to Ambala. Since then I have spent at least another Rs.250/- trying contacting the so called customer care assholes (Executives) out there on STD. I tried taking assistance from one of the high ranking official of Airtel at Ambala. The gentleman tried communicated my complaint to one of his friends placed at Srinagar but to no avail. Airtel has a successful growth by eating up the customer's hard earned money!

Poor service!
1. I have tried to contact AIRTEL on 121 and 9849098490 to get my PUK code. But unfortunately the services are being handled by computerized answering machines with only few options to choose from and with no provision to know about PUK. Without a person to answer to such queries how can a customer be at ease with the service provider?
2. As a second option I have sent SMS to 121 for PUK code. I am prompted to type HELP and sms to 121 for a proper keyword. I have received 10 keywords, the last one relating to PUK code being ambiguous; as such even when I sent the keyword as mentioned in the message 10, I could not get the PUK code. Is there a way out?
Plz advise smb!

Delay in sending the bill and charging huge interest
I had an airtel connection in Hyderabad in 2006. In September I had to leave Hyderabad due to a death in my family and relocate back to my native place. I contacted the Airtel CC to e-mail me by Bill but it was not done, inspite of having my e-mail id. I tried several time in the past to get my bill amount but to no avail- the fact that I did not remember my number also added to my woes and no body was able to help me.
After 9 months, I got a call last week from Airtel Hyderabd saying that my outstanding amount is Rs 8793. I was shocked because the amount was not so high. They are not sending me the itemized bill also. I would like airtel to look into the matter and mail me my itemized bill with the complete bill amount so that i can make the payment at the earliest. However I will not be making any interest payment because there has been a delay from Airtel's end in sending me the bill and not from my end. Airtel cannot just call people after 9 months charging them a humongous amount knowing very well that the delay has been from their end.
If this matter is not looked into, I will have to register my complaints to major news papers and magazines in India and also with the Consumer Grievance cell.
Thanks
Sharda

Problems with AirTel broadband!
Airtel customer care executives are very irresponsible. These guys do not have proper information regarding any service plan. I doubt they even register any complain or any request. I am staying in sectot 62 noida, india. Till now i have called 12 times to Airtel customer care. Every time i am told that Airtel executive will visit my place for connection. Its going to me one month and no one has called me on my phone nor any one has visited my place.
This is really disappointing. Airtel must look for this, otherwise its useless to upgrade technology if service provided is not up to the mark.

Continuing problem regarding documentation
I am a graduate who recently took a Airtel pre-paid connection submitting ALL the required documents - 1) photo 2) ID 3)address proof. I was contacted by airtel through an sms that i have not submitted the required documents and henceforth my outgoing activities (calling, SMS) will be barred. I went to the airtel office to complain about this issue. I was assured that everything was in order and i will have my connection restored immediately. This happened around two weeks ago.
Again, today i got an SMS from Airtel saying the same. And again, my outgoing activities were barred. This outrageous handling of customer documentation, and customer privileges by airtel is totally unethical. What adds salt to the wound is that it couldn't have happened at a worse time, since tonight is a special occasion and I had to make alot of phone calls and messages. I was dumbfounded by all this, as such a major Telecommunications industry like Airtel India could make such mistakes, so i went online to check whether i was the only "unlucky" customer. It shocked me when i found out that airtel does this to several customers, thanks to this website. A major change is called for in the staff/system of Airtel India regarding documentation handling as this is borderline on harassment/trickery.

Problems with prepaid connection!
I got a voice message from Airtel that I have to submit a particular form as per Government regulations, to the nearest Airtel outlet. I promptly submitted with copy of driving license etc. Twice I was called and asked to confirm the address.
Now after three months of my submitting the requirements, the message (both in English and Kannada) continues to come whenever I call up somebody, wasting my precious time. Contacting the Airtel outlet is of no use. Now I have decided to change over to some other service provider.

Harassment and cheating!
I have two connection bearing no 9810582695 and 9910582695 both registered in my name. First of all i do not get the bills from Airtel despite not getting the bills, I as a customer though have right to kn ow that the amount being paid by me is justified and correct. despite that I am paying the bill based on the sms being received through cheque.
My bill for the month of April in respect of phone no 9910582695 was around Rs 800/ which I paid through the cheque 733346 which i informed the customer care despite that under the pretext of not receiving my cheque my services were disconnected and barred for more than a week and I was advised to pay in cash which i did promptly through the collection agent. Thus I have paid twice for a single bill and faced the inconvenience of barred services for a week. The amount Rs 800/- collected in excess of the bill was held with Airtel, Thus I feel that I have been cheated by the company which did not adjust the amount till date .
Adding insult to the injury, once again in the month of May I have paid the amount Rs 660/- as per the billing cycle and Date ie. 27 th may (being Sunday) despite not getting the bill based on mere SMS from the co. Through a cheque bearing no 673242 which was deducted from my account despite paying my services remained barred till 07.06.07 2130 hrs for no mistake on my part I fail to understand why such a company of repute is indulging in unethical trade practices and cheating its customers.
I sent a mail and the bank details of my account to the concerned official MS Charu rastogi on her mail address no reply is forthcoming, the solace offered for inconvenience and harassment caused to me and my family is Rs 100/- as offered by the customer care exec. how can a customer be treated by the so called largest service provider. I as customer feel cheated by the co.
