Verification problem
I am using the airtel prepaid sim. Company has disconnected my outgoing call facility many times for verification. I have submitted many times the verification documents but I have to face this problem many times. First my company disconnected my outgoing facility on 1 Dec. and and on 7 Dec the service continued. But from one month I am facing this problem many times. Now I m frustrated. Whenever I call customer care they said that your verification is alright and your cellphone will be working within 24 hours. But today again company has disconnected my outgoing as well as incoming service. Now I m going to consumer court for logging my complaint.

Unsolicited promotional messages
I am a subscriber to Airtel mobile phone service. I use prepaid cards to make and receive calls together with send and receive SMS. I am paying for all the services. However, I receive unwanted promotional SMS and calls both from Airtel and 3rd party commercial organizations. I am a senior citizen and I keep this mobile to contact my children in case of any urgent matter of emergency. Receipt of the unsolicited SMSs greatly annoys me.

The Airtel company never asked me for my permission to send such promotional commercial messages. Neither they offer any free service/s in lieu of receiving these messages. I expect the company to stop this practice of sending unsolicited messages respecting individuals peace of mind.

Free hello tunes is a waste of money!
I have prepaid connection. I received an SMS from airtel to subscribe free for hello tunes for one month. So I subscribed it. Now every month Rs. 30 is deducted from my account for subscribing hello tunes, whereas I subscribed for one month only. Also to unsubscribe it I called 678 which was of no use as it does not lead u directly to unsubscribe which wasted my another few bucks.

The Airtel service is really bad as it charges money for anything and if try to call customer care no it will take u through all the voice messages.

Dumb 121 customer service!
Airtel Customer Service -121-really hopeless. If really anybody is in duty for customer service at 121 of Airtel - then - why it is like this? I responded to your KBC3 direct entry contest which concluded on 18th Feb'2007. I was a participant who very eagerly contested in this contest. But after 18th Feb'2007 everyday I sent message to 121 asking the result. Every time automatic reply was there from 121 that "we will revert back to you within 24 hours". But I could not understand that for Airtel there was no word like 24 Hours because till this 24th Feb'2007 I have not received any reply stating the result respite repeated sms message to 121 asking the result.

If any higher official from Airtel is reading this complain please tell whether the Airtel KBC3 contest was just a fake or not. If it is real contest - then why Customer Service employees are acting this dumb acting. What is the problem?!
Also note that I have sent e-mail to [email protected] asking the same question. There also the same activity - what I or anybody should call it - IRRESPONSIBILITY OR NOT?

If Airtel persons are doing everything honestly then they should keep courage to reply to the customer promptly for customer satisfaction. Otherwise don't send so many offer messages etc etc to the mobile all the time from 121 - because if Airtel persons can't reply to a simple query how they can send so many messages and expect something - which are means of collecting rupees in different ways - they should not do like this.

Deposit amount never returned!
I was using Plan A from Airtel which was having a deposit amount of 500. Now I moved to Plan B which is not having any deposit amount (advanced rental plan). At the time of change of plan, instead of waving off this deposit amount, they promised me to send me the deposit amount of previous connection by Cheque in a months time. So I payed the 1 yr rent in advance and changed the plan.

Now even after 3 months the didn't send me the deposit amount. So for the third months bill, I paid Rs 400 less as a compensation for not receiving the deposit, and I informed the customer care regarding this...

Now what Airtel did is they deactivated my mobile connection...I dont know how they can do that, when they are having my 1 year advance rent and my deposit amount with then.. when I asked them to give me back the advance rent (Since I didnt tell them to disconnect it), they said it is not possible.

So now Airtel has to give me 1000 (1 Yr rent) + 500 (deposit for previous Plan). But they disconnected my sim since I paid 400 less for my previous bill.

IS IT JUSTICE?

Bought new SIM card which is not working!
I bought a new SIM card from a shop at Pune station. I filled up the necessary form immediately. On the next day I submitted my photo as well. It appears the shop keeper has not sent the photo to Airtel Office, and hence I received sms / calls from Airtel. I went again to the shop and he assured me that the photo has been sent to Airtel. But today to my surprise, I find that the service has been withdrawn! The message "Call 98900 98900" for customer care : On trying this number through a landline, the response says that the number itself is not registered! Now what do I do?!!! Shoot down the shop keeper who sold me the SIM card? Does Airtel have any control on such third rate callous vendors? Or is it that Airtel office itself has misplaced the application or photograph? Why do they sell SIM cards thru such outlets? Secondly, is there an after-sales service available? Customer care?

By the way my cell number is 99601 90950. I am sure Airtel can do something about such SIM card vendors. Or else something must be done about Airtel itself!

Problem to send SMS
I have bought a Airtel Sim on 15.01.2007. While using this SIM, I am unable to send SMS to anyone even to Airtel at 121. There is no problem to receive SMS, to receive and dialing a call.

Network problem
I have been using airtel for 1 year now. There is no Airtel signal / very Feeble signal in my area for more than 1 month now.
I have raised several complaints in Customer Care. But they have not solved this problem. They said that the tower in my area had to be removed due to complaints from the owner of the building. What are my options? If I change the provider, the number changes? Airtel is not bothered about this - and they seem to be in no hurry to fix. I am planning to go to the Customer Court.

Delay in reactivating broadband connection
I switched from BSNL to Airtel connection(voice line and broadband) during the last year. I was given assurance by the Airtel executive that i will not have any problem in shifting the connection to my new flat, that was about to happen in due course. But, i now find that the assurance is far from truth. I had to wait for 8 months (from March 10th to November 10th),to get the voice line reactivated after i shifted my residence to a new flat, which is hardly half a kilometer from the old flat.

Now, the broadband connection is yet to be reactivated, even after giving a complaint one and half months back. My repeated phone calls to customer care executives are not being taken care at all.

Cellphone connection resubmission of proof documents
Airtel is asking all customers to resubmit the address proof documents. They are saying this is due to TRAI guidelines. I have submitted the documents when I took the connection. Now they called up and confirmed the address proof. After this all of sudden, I get an SMS saying, I need to resubmit the documents in 76 hours and the confirmed address and the address in their records do not match. I don't understand this. I have not moved nor did I change my address!! I think they are just passing their inefficiency to the customer and asking them to unnecessarily submit-resubmit-resubmit cycle. What is the guarantee that they have it right. If they want to confirm the address, they need to use different methods of confirming the address. I could again give them a junk address, if I was really needed to play mischief.

Also, in the SMS, there is no direction how to submit, where to submit. This is all utter inefficient way of doing things.
