Illegally debiting money without using services
I would like to bring in your notice of illegally debiting money from my prepaid number by sending message for the services that I haven’t used from the phone. I received a message from num 5009 from airtel live thanking me for using their service at 5:02pm on 03-10-06 which i haven’t used which i can produce evidence from the log in my phone which is not editable. After 20min from the first messages certain alerts & prompt came in the phone and the sim services popped up and i click exit, and when i checked the balance after this the RS.15/- has been debited. The log in the phone only has mobile office and airtelgprs.com which shows the activities done from the phone. I'm facing the similar problem/activity for the second time and i had complained for the same right at the first time and no action was taken. When i complained with the cust care for this they said that u has used the service and nothing can be done. When i asked for the log if they had any, showing the details of me using the same to complain it with concerned dept and they are not ready to give the details even when i discussed the issue with the senior executive there whose name i haven’t noted down.

I have activated the number for the use of internet for one year (Rs.1999/- for gprs) thro' my laptop and i don’t use the mobile for voice calls & browsing sites other than the yahoo messenger which is not chargeable as per your instructions if using thro' mobile office. The default data connection access point for my mobile is by mobile office so it doesn’t use airtel live to login to internet. By two times i lost Rs.25 from my account with out using any services which are chargeable. Me having a very good financial setup is not complaining about for the loss of 25 rupees but for the fraudulent activity by the airtel services. I would like you to seriously look into the matter, because i would like to complain the same to the concerned dept of consumer protection of illegally debiting money from my account and also the improper & misbehavior from the cust. care dept, which my friends also complain always.

Messed up dsl broaband conection
I requested for dsl broadband conection on 13-10-2006. Airtel guys came on 16-10-06 for wiring and messed up with my EPABX, diconnected MTNL line of neighbour and connected my airtel line to his MTNL phone. On complainiong repeatedly that somebody else would be making calls from my airtel number, it took seven days for airtel to finally tell us that its beyond their means and i should rather get it fixed either by mtnl guys or my own epabx guys which i got done eventually on my on 23-10-06. Till date i.e. 31-10-06 nobody has come to instal dsl connection even after requesting them on daily basis.Each day , i get new complaint no, but no action. Is any body accountable for all the complaint nos they generate? and then they promise to resolve each complaint in a day. thats India best telecom company...... fooling people. i wish i could change my service provider of all the four lines if there was provision of number portability (and iam sure there will many more people who think likewise). Companies know that and take advantage of thi.s

Non adjustment of payment
I had made my bill payment by ICICI phone banking on 05-10-2006 amounting Rs. 2267 and as per record of ICICI Bank they have paid this money to AIRTEL  DELHI on 06-10-2006, but it not reflected in account of my Landline phone no 0124 4274131.

Postpaid karnataka wrong bill
I am airtel customer in karnataka i have not downloaded anything in airtellive but they have added in my bill 400/- in Sep 06 bill i enquired but they sent big list what i have not downloaded. Don't take airtel postpaid if you take it will be a keeping blade in your packet.

No customer service!
Airtel customer support is very bad. I was a loyal customer to airtel but this incident changed my mind. My cook had stolen my phone today around 7.15 pm.I called up airtel office to find out information of the call. Mithun (Customer care representative) picked the call and explained his rules etc for not giving information. I asked him to transfer the call to supervisor but they said no manager available and all the managers gone for tea.Suggested that i need to file FIR as lost case etc. Airtel supports person who steals by the time i complete their process person will run away with my cell phone and sell also.

Next CSR James D asked me to drop the phone or he will disconnect.this cell was costly and office work would suffer as client calls on the same but no one allowed me to talk to manager or supervisor. The worst thing is they were making fun of customer.Very bad customer support. I will go to consumer forum for this.

Wrong information given leading to excess bill amount (post paid)
1. I was given the benefit of 49 p calling without paying anything extra.But I was not informed about the validity of this scheme..so I made calls according to 49 p only… which led to a huge bill amount... which I cannot afford.

2. Also my outgoing is barred…

3. I talked to customer care many times..n I was even assured of the waiver by one of the senior members of airtel mr. ankur.he assured me of the discount n he was to give me a call… but I received no call from airtel regarding this.

People beware!!!

Amount is deducted from my account!
My mobile service provider is airtel india. Today morning hello tune is automatically subscribed to my mobile number. However i never made a request regarding activating hello tune and a random song is also selected for hello tune. When i contacted airtel people, they are not paying attention on this issue simply saying that it is your mistake: "you do what u can do". Rs 45/- is deducted from my account balance.

Incorrect billing
On the 8th October 2006, I gave a complaint regarding my bill coming too high, a complaint was lodged, but I didn’t get any feedback, so I called again yesterday and again lodged a complain, Srinivas took the complaint and gave me the complaint number(: 10022647), just wanted to mention I was very distressed with the whole calls business,as I was on hold for 45 mins and then when I informed that the calls I made to were to Paris, France, I was also asked if it was in the Middle East!!!

After that there was a call drop, and then again I called. So you can imagine what I went through.

When I changed my plans, I had called 121, on the 9th September 2006, I specifically asked your executive if I can call US, UK & Europe for Rs2.99/min, and I specifically asked him IF I could call cell phones also, BECAUSE, If you see my earlier phone bills and my usage history, I call mobile phone in France, and because of this I am aware that calls to mobile phones are higher, he said, “No sir, same Rs.2.99 per call to US, UK, Europe” I understand that this is coming down to your executive’s word against mine, but I would like to draw your attention to this and do something about my Bill, which has been incorrectly calculated at Rs 9.99/min. Also, I was given all kinds of explanations like its because +33 is in the Gulf? When I NEVER called any Middle east country!! The amount has come to Rs 6395.34. Stay away from Airtel!

Responce from the Airtel Executive.

1) Address verification is not done.

My questions.

1) Why the phone was activated witout address verification?
2) Why phone was disconnected without any intimation, either through SMS or via mail or via phone?
3) How come one phone is verified on same name and address and other phone is not verified?
4) Why should the customer suffer, because of the process failure at AIRTEL End?

Is this how AirTel talks about “100% Bill accuracy” service guarantee?
In continuation of our discussion on 29th Sep 2006 regarding my billing irregularities by AirTel, I am furnishing the following details as requested by you and as part of your continued personal efforts to satisfy all SATYAMites.

Please note I took my 2nd AirTel Mobile connection on 24th August 2006 with M. No: 9ssss and Account Number 10ssssss with Basis Bill Plan CUG 499 Plan with plan benefits includes, Local M2M 499 Mins Discount and 499 Local and National SMS Free.

FYI please note in your previous bill dated 27th August 2006, plan benefit Local M2M Mins Free was implemented and billed correctly.

But suddenly to this contrary and to my surprise, I received your latest bill dated 27th Sep 2006, with billing irregularities stating only 499 minutes Local A2A Free (Means Airtel to Airtel Free).

This act is outrageous, unethical, unprofessional, misleading and misinformation campaign resulting in duping and cheating of customers by Airtel.

Further while contacting your call center on 29th Sep-2006, I asked the concerned person to put me on to his manager and I was kept on hold for 30 mins and suddenly they disconnected the call and the person was so rigid in answering and trying to justify the billing.

Is this how AirTel talks about “100% Bill accuracy” service guarantee??
