Fraud and cheating
I activated mobile office on my mobile. But I didn't have setting for that. So, I called customer care for getting the settings. I called around 4-5 times, but I didn't get the settings. Each time the executive told me that he would be sending settings within 5 minutes. But it didn't happen. Next day when I called cc for getting the refund. The executive told me that i have taken a complain and you ll be getting a conformation call in the evening. Again, it didn't happen. This is not the first time it happened. Airtel is also famous for deducting balance without doing any downloads from GPRS.

Oppressive tactics
The company refuses to accept the Cancellation/Surrender requests from the subscriber till he pays all the dues as per their records which may not be updated. In short they will not stop your services of mobile unless you agree to pay all outstanding without any dispute. This alternatively means that the subscriber continues paying the charges even if he does not wish to continue the services or does not continue t he services. They do not adjust the deposit with their billing info. They extract the unbilled amounts as shown on their internet accounts even though the adjustments for payments made are not disclosed / reflected and even if such sum is less than the deposit amount. This attitude is no less than oppressive and high handedness. In fact it is nothing short of acts amounting to looting, cheating, robbing and extortion. Subscribers should join hands and boycott their services in large numbers and spread the word amongst friends to mass discontinue their services. Teach them and show them the strength of united resistance and make them bow down to reasonableness, have fair and honest practice and refrain from extortionist practice. In the alternative stop paying their bills and resist their recovery by any other means then legal. Let them come behind subscribers instead of subscribers having to go to them and dance as per their tunes. Also make mass consumer redressal complaints for recovering damages and losses and costs of litigation and the like. This type of campaign should be spread like fire.

No Response from Customer Care
My mobile number is +91- 989-407-3072. I am not able to make calls to international calls to a particular country called Djibouti. Whenever I try call to this particular country I get a message stating 'Number Not in Use', whereas I am able to call from my alternate 'VODAFONE' Number. I have made several complaints regarding this since a year, but have not received any response from the Customer Care Executive nor the Higher Officials to whom the call was redirected after many calls made to them. The latest complaint number regarding this complaint to Airtel is '3081207424000' dated 12-Aug-2008. I am extremely disheartened with the way Airtel has reacted to the complaint and really feel as other company service providers are far far better in Customer Care than Airtel.

Harassment from Airtel & its CC
I had lately taken a Airtel connection - 9008026591 (to gift it to my mom). It is a corporate connection - Karnataka Number from Wipro Technologies, Mustafa being the company Co-ordinator... It was activated with Rs.300 initial deposit and all the necessary documents, being scanned from my end.

During the address verification stage 2 things happen:

1. The Verification person lands up at my client office where I work. He called up around 15 times to know my location.
2. He failed to call up when he had to do the main verification that is to my residence.

Its funny that they take my existing (current usage number). To find all the details. Just after 3 days i get a message on my Mobile, they are discontinuing the service... due to incorrect verification... (when they did not come how could it be incorrect?). Then they discontinue my outgoing all together.

And even after repeated mails to [email protected] and [email protected] no response worst of all [email protected] where you mail anything but no response found? Call up airtel customer care... names I have interacted with Siva, Avinash.M, Ravi and there is one supervisor Sameer.S
All give vague and different answers. None consitant with each other. The customer service is the worst of the lot. They have a major monopoly.

Now when I want to cancel my connection and want a refund they don't want to refund my Rs.300, deducting all my amount. They give me all the policies saying that I have to be at least 6 months customer. For such a bad service who would want to be their customer? And above which in a democratic country they do a dictatorship over the customer.

And India provides all the related support for companies like this?

Flamboyant!!!

no feed back of complaints
i am using the airtel no. +919997417555 since 2 years. at initial stage this no. was prepaid but now i requested to air tel change my postpaid no. to prepaid no. and they hav done it.

now from 30 days or from changing postpaid to prepaid i am unable to send the massages from my phone n not getting hello tune while they hav cuted the balance of hellotune . so many times i called to coustmer care 121 but they didnt feed back me in possitive way.

i also called for my same complaint at 198 of airtel n they also not replied me

i am missing the name of executives but i talked with a senior mr. Devendra of airtel complaint care at 198 and he promissed me he will shortout this proble in 24 hrs but still not solve

kindly take the necessary action for the same

customer care sucks
for the higher officials,
i m a prepaid card holder and my number is 9952989484. i bought this number in june. now my no. is not active. the airtel officers told me that they cant do anything bcoz they have some problem with the server for three days.but i have made the compliant two weeks back itself.when i told this to the concerned officer at my nearest airtel customer care showroom at CHROMPET, CHENNAI-600044, TAMILNADU, INDIA. He fought with me and spoke very irresponsibily and he blackmiled me that he will block my sim. i request you sir to take necessary action.

Network problems
1. Non-delivery of SMS while on roaming.
2. Unable to make / receive calls while on roaming despite full network (signal).
3. Hopeless Customer Support, they do not know anything about what COULD be the problem. They give me hopeless suggestion when I ask a solution to my problem, which in no way is related to my problem or even the vaguest of the solutions to my problem.
4. And a whole N/W that only has an excellent mechanism of accepting complaints and do NOTHING at all about ANY of them!!!

Money stolen from me by Airtel
I only use Airtel internet service called Mobile Office which is Rs.99. I do not make calls STD or local or send SMS. The biggest mistake I made was to top up my credit by Rs.2000 (prepaid) as I stay far away from the city. My biggest mistake because Airtel stole Rs.1900 from my account without my knowledge.

The way they did this was send me a message from 64611050 which I duly deleted without even reading it. This happened seven times. But to my horror when I checked my balance it had dropped by Rs.1900.

No matter how many calls I made to their call center they were unable to help me. All they said was that I had downloaded wallpapers from Wap Hungama, a site that I have not even heard of. Anyways I wonder whose wallpaper could cost this kind of money. I have been totally cleaned out by Airtel and I do not wish to top up my account again but I want to warn all those innocent suckers out there to be careful. The horrible feeling is that without opening or reading the SMS they can still delete from your account.

Moral of my plight: pls top up with Rs.25 only. I don't think Airtel is that degraded a company to steal that amount.

Deducted money 100rs saying i downloaded some java game which i have not. I have a unlimited one year gprs connection. They don't explain what i downloaded.

I HAVE COMPLAINED BY PHONE TO CUSTOMER CARE AND TRIED TO SEND SMS TO THEM TO STOP BUT IT IS NOT DISCONTINUED SINCE THE LAST NEARLY 2 MONTHS.
