Dear Sir,
This is to bring to your notice that AIRTEL, one of the leading cellular company has introduced new process because of which customers like me are put into lot of inconvenience and difficulty. AIRTEL has introduced a new process according to which receipts are not given on payment of the Mobile Bill, I am an employee working with one of the leading MNC Banks in Bangalore and for us for any reimbursement to happen a receipt for the same is needed. I had requested AIRTEL for the same many times by calling on their customer service number and by writing mails but in spite of the late reply from AIRTEL it was all in vain. I believe for all payments above Rs 500 a stamped receipt needs to be given. Moreover it is not feasible to carry a Mobile bill while you are on roaming and you have to make the payment at the nearest location at that place. According to the new process AIRTEL will be sending a SMS confirmation on the payment being received. But I was not that lucky, I never got a SMS even though I had paid from my Debit card, moreover my account never got credited for few days. At this point I would also like to mention that SMS can fail due to network problem and a hard copy of the receipt is the only proof till the next bill is generated. Moreover it is the only proof to escape from the collection agents ( for no mistake of the consumer i.e. if the bill is paid and the payment is not being credited because of the mistake of service provider- as it happened in my case- payment not credited for 2-3days.). Moreover a customer can always claim he has paid the bill and the same has never got credited. I also believe that AIRTEL would be giving receipt to customer who default and who get into collections. Therefore a Hard copy is very necessary from the customers and companies point of view. This new process will make many customers default and AIRTEL to loose its customer base.
Because of this new process I was put through a lot of mental trauma and I had to visit nearly 3 AIRTEL outlets to finally get a receipt for my payment. I was put into a lot of difficult just for getting a mere receipt. Moreover the authorities had paid no heed to my request.
Therefore prospective customers of AIRTEL who mainly depend on reimbursement from their company by giving a receipt for the same should wait till systems fall into place or look for a service provider who will give them a receipt.
Process should be changed to put things into ease and not to put people into inconvenience. I believe AIRTEL would soon rectify its mistake and provide a better service to its customers. At least they should give receipt to people who are in real need on it rather than being adamant in their policies and loosing the customer base……………
.
Thanks and Regards
