Migrating from postpaid to prepaid
I have given a request to migrate my Post Paid Mobile Connection to the Pre-Paid on July 04, 2008 at Airtel Outlet(Nr Bangalore Central). They asked me deposit the due amount of Rs 472.00 (Un Billed amount till July 04, 2008), so i did. They said it will take 48hrs to migrate. So, I waited till July 06, 2008. And went to the Outlet on July07, 2008 for checking the progress, they said your bill is generated on July05, 2008, so you will have to pay the next due amount of Rs 1006.00, and I paid the amount on that day only. Now they said it will take next 24hrs to migrate to pre-paid. On July 14, 2008, I went to the out let for inquiry, but no response. Till today July 15, 2008, my Airtel Mobile is still dead. And yet not migrated. I talk to Help Desk / Out Counter but no one is giving me correct answer. So, from my point of view please do not go for Airtel connection.

Not receiving of calls from cdma phones
I am airtel customer since last 6years. Recently 2days back I am change my number with new series i.e., 9000456277. I have no call received from Reliance/Tata indicom (cdma) phones.

Faulty SIM CARD
I hold an Airtel corporate connection from a giant US based company.Just over two months ago I got a new SIM card with the existing connection from the jayanagar Airtel office, Bangalore. It took me several calls and days of followup to activate the SIM despite the 30 min TAT that was given for the activation. That got resolved but a couple of months later the SIM just stopped functioning! It would not even read! I went back to the Jayanagar office and got another card issued. When I requested for the SIM card data to be copied, I was dryly told it was not possible. I made several vain requests to retrieve the data that is so valuable to me. My request to use their phone to call the hespdesk was also blunty refused! When I called teh helpdesk from somebody else's phone, my request was turned down even without probing into details and I was put on an infinite hold when I insisted they find a solution. What more, my new SIM is still not activated even 3 hours after I was told it would be!

I am truly disappointed that I had a complete SIM memory washout due to the faulty SIM provided by Airtel that did not even last 3 months! On top of it the 'support' people were so blunt to my requests. I felt humiliated at their office despite being a corporate customer. I am writing this here because I have sent some other grievances earlier to airtel folks through email and have failed to get any response from it.

Is the customer REALLY empowered in India and do we REALLY have a choice???

RIGHT NOW U R SENDING 4 TO 5 MAILS FOR LAST PERIOD BILL.. (IT’S USELESS FOR ME) ALSO INTIMATE TO UR CUSTOMER CARE DEPTT... THAT I NEED ONLY CURRENT CYCLE BILL AND WHAT HELL U PEOPLE ARE DOING I ALREADY REGISTERD AT DND SERVICE FROM 11 TH NOVEMBER 2007 BUT STILL GETTING MESSAGE FROM 58888 A LOT OF TIME I INTIMATE UR CUSTOME CARE DEPT BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE

POOR NET WORK
Sir, My mobile number is 9849234567. I work for Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Ramachandrapuram, Hyderabad-502032 (Andhra Pradesh). Whether I carry my mobile or not to my office, it does not make any difference because neither we can make/receive calls when we are at office. Practically there is no net work in our office since from the beginning. My repeated complaints/feedbacks to Airtel did not yield any result. As a result I am compelled to maintain another mobile (9951595653) when I am at office. I am continuing the services of Airtel just becuase of the fancy number otherwise there is no point in contuining their services. I request Airtel to address my/our concern immediately.

Old number given to new customer
Warm greetings to every one at AIRTEL. I am forced to send this complaint to you as the circumstances are pushing me to do so , to be honest to you i am very upset about a few things which has happened to me recently .I have taken a new connection on 16th December'07. Since it got activated,i am getting unsolicated calls. These calls are mainly from ABN AMRO Bank regarding recovery of loan taken by one Mr.Saimon who was using this number earlier. I have been abused on phone by the recoverors, theretaned of life & what not. it is a mental torchor for me. I have complained almost 30-40 time on customer care but without any response. Everytime it is told that my number will change in 24 hrs but in vain.I have also told to the callers that this number does not belong to Mr.Simon but still calls keep coming.Now I do not know what to do?Please help me so that I do not move to consumer court else I have no other option.

Poor Customer Support
I, Anindya Sunder Sen have been an Airtel Subscriber for past two years. (Mobile No: 09831424798)

I would like to bring to your notice about the esteemed service provided by the Customer Care department of the stated organization

It all started on 17th February, 2008(Sunday) when I noticed that an amount of Rs 30 has been deducted from my current balance. (I had a balance of Rs 100.35 which was reduced to Rs 70.35).

On, 18th February, 2008(Monday), I called Customer Care (CC) (09831012345) from Durgapur, WB and prompt reply was given to me by the experts—“Your request is in process, Please call after two hours”

On Monday I managed to call at least 4 times, during my third call to CC a technical support representative (female) finally sought out my problem that I had activated Hello Tunes and a monthly rental of Rs 30 had been deducted from my balance.

To my severe disbelief (as I had not activated any Hello Tunes or anything like that) I once again called back CC, and during one of my successive attempts I managed to talk to the Technical Supervisor, who after a long interrogation found that the fault was on their side and registered a complaint against my number and promised me to refund back my 30 Rs within the next two hours.

I waited till Tuesday morning and yet seeing that no refund was made I called Customer Care again and then I was told a new story that my complaint is already registered with them but their server was down so I had no options but to wait for another two hours.

On Tuesday I called CC 4-5 times and similarly on Wednesday another 4-5 times but I was to remember that server side problems always took more than two days to make up!!!!

The same server side problem crapped up on Thursday,21st February, 2008 and being quite irritated, I finally asked CC what could be a probable answer to my problem, the first and the best solution offered to me was to wait for another dreaded two hours while a second better option was to bring forward the problem to their head office at Park Street, Kolkata.

Today is Friday, 22nd February, 2008, 11:55 am and neither I have got any refund nor have It made a call to CC yet. This is clear indication from the Company’s side that I must try some other carrier if I want better service than I have received in this case.

In this short span of five days I managed to call CC around 25-30 times and I conversed with quite a number of Airtel employees Ms Barnana, Ms Priya, Ms Debanjali, Mr Suman………. I am sorry if I can’t remember everyone’s name I talked with…………… and I specially remember Ms Dipannita and Mr Soumitra, who after receiving my call and keeping me on hold for about five minutes just disconnected my call—after all it is the usual procedure followed to deal with customers and I must say they just care for the customers at Customer Care.

Calls are diverted settings changed from inside Airtel
Employees of Airtel are changing the call divert setting of the mobile connection and hence seriously compromising with your security.
The call goes to another mobile and your conversation will no longer be private
This is serious.
