I was an Airtel prepaid customer. I kept getting calls from Airtel informing me that it would be better for me to switch to postpaid & would save a lot on bills.
I finally got tempted and decided to give it a try. After a month, my bill started coming in thousands. I paid an extra amount so that my services were not disrupted since this phone is very important. I then decided to switch back to prepaid.
I was told that I had an extra amount of Rs700.00 which will be refunded to me after a month. My service was interrupted by a few hours when it was changed back to prepaid.
I had to travel out of India & only returned after 3 months. When I went to the airtel, they told me that they did not have to refund any money to me, but infact, I was supposed to pay them Rs 270.00
Even though I had switched back to prepaid, they continued to bill me and removed the money from my credit balance on postpaid.
When I called Airtel, the prepaid dept said I should talk to the postpaid and the postpaid said that I should talk to the prepaid. They kept passing me around like a tennis ball.
Finally I managed to get a manager who assured me that the credit amount will be credited to my prepaid a/c.
Nothing was done, and again I had to keep calling. Now I call, they say that they have no records of my postpaid a/c and there is nothing they can do.
Airtel has stolen my prepaid credit when I switched to postpaid and now refuses to give me back my money. When they see that there is an extra balance, they take in under any pretext to make sure that there are no refunds made and then they delete everything from their records so that the customer cannot claim anything.
Airtel is the biggest thief among the cellular service providers
