Airtel's Rs 99 GPRS plan for prepaid users offers 100 MB usage in daytime and 2 GB free usage at night (12 am to 8 am)
That free 2 GB from 12 to 8 am sounds nice except that it's not. Some random amount keeps getting charged --
1. the amount is not proportionate to your usage. 2. sometimes they charge, sometimes they don't.
Their customer care is nothing more than IVR. And IVR does not list an option to report this issue. Press 9 to talk to an executive and they'll ask you to sms airtel to 121. The sms of course leads you through the IVR again.
Emails quietly disappear into the Airtel blackhole -- forget a response, there's not even an acknowledgement of receiving any email.
Try their nodal officer. Another blackhole.
Instead of wasting time and money in getting the issues resolved, it's a lot cheaper to just stop using the sim card once your talktime expires.
I regret moving from Vodafone to Airtel. At least in Vodafone, if you have a problem, you can report it, get prompt response and get it resolved too. Big regret!

Deduction of Amount Without Reasons
Usually they people deduct money from our account without any reasons and when we asked them for it they name it as network problem and do not refund our deducted amount.

I am writing to you to express my deep disappointment from the service I have received from your company recently.
I have been a post-paying customer of Air Tel for the past two years, and due to some interference in your network, I decided to transfer from pre pay to your pay as you go service.
Though I thought this would have been a simple enough procedure, being that I am still a customer, for some unexplainable reason my line was cut off. Then upon enquiring as to why this had happened, I was told that I had to provide evidence of my identity and the address I lived at…again I question, why this was needed as I am still the same customer who had been pre paying a tariff for two years, so why would I need to provide proof now?
Furthermore I would like to question your cancellation policy, is it common practice for you to cancel a loyal customers account without prior notice? And if you do require “evidence” from an existing customer, who has simply changed his tariff, and who’s information you already hold, do you disable their line without contacting them? Especially when you already have their phone number and address as a means of contact to obtain the information you need?
I have spoken to many of your customer service agents and none could provide a sufficient nor acceptable explanation, which I find very poor given that you are one of India’s largest network companies.
I would also like to inform you of the immense amount of inconvenience this has caused me.
Firstly I am currently seeking employment and have put down my Air Tel number as a contact number, so now I am unable to be contacted, possibly losing job opportunities, (I have been sent numerous amounts of emails from companies who have informed me that I am un-contactable!). This is not acceptable from your behalf, as I trustingly used your network without hesitation whilst paying for a service I haven’t received.
Secondly, my friends and relatives have not been able to contact me causing much distress, most of all to my Fiancée who is in England and was unable to get through to me.
Thirdly my whole life has been disrupted due to this, I've had to borrow other people’s phones or use STD’s. Again this is NOT ACCEPTABLE as I've paid YOU for a service and had to seek it elsewhere.
To conclude, I am now giving you three days to resume this problem. I have spoken to a solicitor who specializes in consumer law, who agrees that there has been a series of misconduct from your side. If the problem is not resolved within three days I will start legal proceedings, which could result in you losing other customers and tarnishing your reputation. I for one have lost faith in your company.
I hope this letter will not be ignored and prompt action taken.

Cut amount from account forcefully
Airtel mobile service provider.
Hi,
My airtel prepaid account show 6RS balance at evening,
even my balance was 37.84RS at afternoon.I did not use my mobile for outgoing calls.
I just called for enquiry for reduction my account balance.Customer care executive just ignore my call.
They did not return balance to my account.They just say
your audio movies facility are activedbut even i am not activated this type service.If there any method to send complaints.Please send suggestion tomy email account : [email protected]

Misleading Information to Customer
Airtel has given a wrong detail to me. The caller from airtel named NITIN says that i was among the special customers of airtel and i was given a special scheme that i can use the airtel unlimited internet plan of Rs. 500 for 2 months instead of 1 month. He also said that my speed in the internet connection will be the Hi-Tech speed i.e. 12-16 kbp/s. But i am getting the speed of maximum 4.1 kbp/s only.He also Confirm this issue by transferring the call to his senior and activate the service.

Dishonoring of my cheque
Airtel is going berserk by the day.
In the month of March/April I never got my bill in spite of informing Airtel over the phone. Nothing happened. They disconnected my line, levied a fine. Realizing their mistake they refunded the fine.
Now a new story.
For the past 6 months my bills have been settled vide a Citibank cheque which was accepted by Airtel, deposited and cleared.
Suddenly out of the blue (this is where they go berserk or bonkers) this month they refused the cheque (same Citibank / Same Cheque Book) stating it was an outstation cheque.
When queried about this (i have the names of atleast 5 Airtel personel i spoke to) they had no clue why. To me the seemed as lost as headless chickens.
And, still the issue remains a mystry...to me and ofcourse (and naturally) AIRTEL...forever !

Airtel Balance
Good Day,
Please to inform you that i have an airtel number in kerala (9995833395) i used to use while travelling abroad (international roaming) to dubai. However before i leave kerala there was balance INR 450/- and while i reach uae, i am not able to receive any calls or either messages. When i checked my balance it shows only INR 50/-. Non ethical and bad customer service
I'm been using airtel mobile and broadband for long time now, I have seen many instaces where Airtel customer service acts smart but the latest one which i faced this month is really worth complaining in this board.
29th of sep they had disconnected my broadband connection with the reason of non payment where as i had made my payment before this when i called up customer care they said 'sorry for the Inconvenience and we will reconnect and should be working within 15 min' (according to airtel this call is not a complaint rather customer enquiry) but my internet was not woring and I had the same screen coming up even on 4th oct I called them multiple times on 4th and 5th Oct finally they said they are registring a complaint which then they resolved on 7th and accepted that they had some technical problem in releasing the line.
When i got my bill for this month I didnt see any change in my bill and it was not reflecting any charge reduction for the duration which i didn't have my broadband so, I decided to call them again find out.. now the newer version is that they have registered complaint only on 5th and they have resolved on 7th in esense they have not considered any of my calls which i did on 29th sep, 3rd, 4th & 5th Oct and they are expecting money for the duration which i have not used the connection and customer care says 'accroding to their record'...they are right.
This is what I call as 'white coloured cheating' by corporates.
