No ethics, only money!!!
We have around 50 airtel mobile connections in our factory and more than 100 Will airtel connections and also broadband connection. Im facing lot of problem with Airtel service. Every time i travel abroad, my mobile out going dosen't work, only incoming works. This i repeatedly keep complaining to the local Airtel office here before my trip, but no use. If you ask for an international roaming tariff, the details are avilable in their website. Where as they have tie up with 4 service providers in every country with different attractive tariffs. But once u r in abroad, if you choose the best tariff sevice provider, none will accept your request, Only one service provider will accept your request whose got the highest tariff. Airtel the worst service provider with out any ethics in business other than money... Now we are in a mind to surrender all the Airtel connections and shift to some other service provider. Never trust or be faithful to Airtel, Its my experience from Airtel..

Conversion from postpaid to prepaid , not done since long
I have requested a service from postpaid to prepaid at airtel office vashi, sector -17, I have submitted all the documents and pending bill on 9th of October,2007. I again went there after 2 weeks , the person told me that it will get start on the nextday. But its not working till date. I have called the customer care -121, but the lady told me that she cannot check the status for the number which is converted from postpaid to prepaid. And the person at airtel service is not willing to pick up my phone even. Their attitude is worst.
Right now I am using a roaming number of vodafone. Can you tell me when I'll get my number up ? If you people cannot do it then I want the money back of that sim and the roaming bills I am paying since last few days , just because of their stupid promises of 3days and 4 days.

Internet Activation
Airtel fooled me when i activated for mobile internet. I had 19.53/- rs in my account and after activating the internet 15/- Rs are deducted from my account. But no activation takes place even after amount is deducted. I called customer service and came to know that i had to maintain another 15/- Rs for browsing the internet. So many other times i used this service, but they are saying that this is mandatory now. There was no intimation for this to me. They should check the remaining balance before deducting the internet charges from my account. More i lost i lost my money as they refused to give it back and refuse to take complains at that time and suggests to take only after 24 hours. It is a disgusting service i experienced

Inefficient/Worst Case of Customer Service
i got a call from some Airtel executive on 16th Oct (who was calling from Andheri(E) branch of Airtel)...he told me a plan to convert my Pre-paid number to Post-paid....i got interested in that and gave that guy my College Id and License as a photo Id proof...now after that i got 2 passport size photographs and No Objection Certificate to give to them, but no one has come to take it from me....i feel so irritated because of all this...my Pre-paid validity was about to expire on 20th Oct, but since no one came i had to get a recharge done of Rs 97 for a month's validity...now the call rates in this scheme is 2.25 which is too too costly for me(earlier i was in plan of 456 which had local call rates of flat 50paise)....i want compensation for all this...despite of calling them again and again, they don`t reply properly and no one has any sense of responsibility there....i want a REFUND of 200 bucks....I CANNOT KEEP ON WAITING FOR THEM AND GET TOP-UP DONE AGAIN AND AGAIN...

Bill discrepancy - mental harassment
On my corporate connection, I took a self paid sim card. There was some discrepancy in the bill & hence after three months of struggle it was rectified & some amount was being waived thru email. But i never recd a corrected revised bill as said that airtel does not issue revised bill??? Since then I'm getting calls from different airtel operators day in day out (-10-20 calls in a day, on holidays also) checking as to y I've not paid the amount which was waived. I tried with their cust. care cell, also with higher authorities but failed. With the amount of mental harassment now going to consumer court is the only solution.

Poor web system to make payment, bad coverage
I am AIRTEL postpaid customer no. 9975491991, I do have web payment activated. I also have another number belongs to my wife for which, I tried to register with the facility add another number within my login ID with my airtel. It asked for password. When we send request for password, it replies you have not register send that request first. On sending register request, it replies server down try after some time. With 17 interaction calls to Airtel I could come to know that their server is already down and will not work atleast for another 48 hours. (great!)
So problem is with Airtel system not with me, and they are stopping my outgoing, no SRD working, I already paid my bill.
The idiots hired by Airtel doesn't know the simple procedure for payment. They are not at all customer centric. Rather they have created walls.
Network coverage is another issue altogether.I get even full 5 signal strength, but no call and even after connection voice breaks and call drop. In my bill I can show you so many calls for 1 second due to this.
When these companies stop sucking customers for their bad infrastructures. God knows!!!

irresponsible airtel, not keeping commitments
hi, my name is james chacko and my number is 9867180278.
on 28th sep. i got an sms from airtel informing that if i pay the bill on 29th or 30th of sep at airtel relationship centers (arc), i would win assured gifts, all arcs are open. accordingly i went to andheri (e) arc and paid the bill, but they said they didn't receive any gifts and i would have to talk to customercare.
i called airtel from there and spoke to susheela dangi and she spoke to her team leader and she promised me that the gift would be sent to my billing address. i asked her again and she confirmed it.
after that, each time i called to inquire, i had to tell the whole story to the executive attending the call, and then was told that the system was under upgradation and was asked to call later, or after half an hour, or after 7pm or after 7am..... the supervisor it seems was always busy on another call or some meeting.
finally on 12th oct after 14 calls, i could speak to someone and after much persuasion, got the call transferred to suleman, his tl. he told me that airtel never sends gifts to billing addresses, i would have to pick it up from andheri arc, even though i was promised that earlier. he promised and assured me that the concerned dept would call me within 48 hours. i waited till 22nd oct. and spoke to vidya nair, she assured me again that i would get a call within 48 hours and the whole system was under upgradation for sometime. and i got a reference number for the first time: 548002387
now since nothing is happening apart from me repeating the incident to every executive and wasting a good deal of my time, i decide to write to you hoping that i will at least get "the call". the 48 hour period is a standard time and never seems to elapse.
the question is not about receiving a gift. its about COMMITMENT. even if you promise a pen worth rs.2, DELIVER IT or DON'T ASSURE!
secondly, when i am promised a "call-back", i am EXPECTING a call.
thirdly, my bills hardly come below 1700 a month , without many std or messages. my colleagues using hutch go roaming, call std & isd from there but don't cross 1700. many other friends using airtel have faced this problem and have switched over to hutch.
could someone please get back to me with answers??? i am thoroghly dissatisfied and tired of airtel.

Serious issues with Customer care: Prepaid to PostPaid conversion
I have been an old Airtel pre-paid subscriber.
So now- I attempted to convert Pre-Paid to Post-Paid.
My number will remain same- 99671 37117 (Mumbai)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the sequence of events:
1. Called 121 and all possible customer care numbers from my existing prepaid connection. All calls were automatically routed to pre-paid customer care. I asked for information on Post-Paid plans. I was told that I SHOULD CALL FROM A POSTPAID NUMBER TO DO THAT. Isn't that rediculous??
2. Went to AIRTEL VASHI RELATIONSHIP CENTRE.
3. Day 1: Provided all proofs required as per airtel for pre-paid to post-paid converstion. Paid the required amount for the 299 plan. I was given a sealed envolop with POSAT-PAID SIM inside it. Obviously, this SIM was DISABLED presently.
I was told that the pre-paid will be disabled and post-paid card will be enabled within 3 working days. Fair enough!!
4. After 2 days: Called customer care from my existing prepaid SIM. No status updated. They claim that this process will take 7 working days. Over and above that- they say that my PRE-PAID SIM may get DEACTIVATED anytime and would remain deactivated for 48 hours before the POST-PAID SIM is ACTIVATED.
IMPORTANT: When I asked for the direct number of the VASHI CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP Centre -- I was bluntly told, " Sir, we do not keep relationship centre phone number with us. If you need to resolve this issue, please go there PHYSICALLY !!". Now as customer, you tell me- do you have time to go so far and the extra petrol - to go for such a FOOLISH QUERY!!
So it means that the "customer care on phone" and the "Airtel relationship centre" have NO communication between them and they have been specially designed to MISLEAD customers to buy their services- by giving FALSE PROMISES.
#IMPORTANT: Now- if I loose some business or job calls due to these 48 hours of DEACTIVATION of PRE-PAID -- who will compensate me for this??
------------------------------------------------------------------------
#ALL THE ABOVE EVENTS HAPPENED EXACTLY IN THE SAME WAY WITH MY WIFE ALSO- WHEN SHE HAD APPLIED FOR PRE-PAID TO POST-PAID CONVERSION, 2 MONTHS BACK!! So please do not consider my case as an exception!!
Customer care has been consistantly worthless and provides no direction, unless there are simple technical faults. It seems that the customer care has been specially built and trained to keep the actual airtel business people away from the the customers, and nothing else (just for their convinience and NOT for customers)!! This is not the first time this kind of calousness has been shown.
AIRTEL HAS NO RIGHT TO DO WHATEVER IT FEELS LIKE- LIKE SPENDING IT'S CUSTOMER'S TIME AND MONEY AND NOT GIVING REQUIRED INFORMATION WHEN ASKED FOR!!
I hope that there must be some way to address this with TRAI !!!!!
