Lazy verification officer
I converted my connection from pre paid to post paid on the 3rd October2007. Today, Sunday 7th October 2007, Airtel disconnected my phone on account of my 'failing the verification'. Such terms as 'failing' are slanderous, and insinuate that I am trying to pass off under wrong pretenses or something. How dare they tell me I have 'failed' their test. On the contrary I made it a point to tell the Vasant Kunj rc that I am not available at home during office hours. The rc treated this very casually, and instead of making a note of this for Airtel, they said 'never mind the man will go to your house then make an appointment for another visit."

Despite this, the very next day I get a call from a 'verification' executive standing outside my house, and feeling offended that I was at work. I told him to come before 9 AM, after 7.30 PM or on week ends. The lazy man did nothing except submit a report that the verification has 'failed' and so my phone services were disconnected.

The lazy man could have verified the fact of my residence from my land line number, my neighbors, the security guard, the local post office or even the local beat policeman if he did not want to take the trouble of calling again. But he obviously felt it was most expedient to simply 'fail' me. I feel as insulted as though a cheque of mine has bounced due to the fault of the bank. (which by the way is an offense). If a 55 year old lady professor, staying at the same residence for more than a dozen years, can be 'failed' this casually, I shudder to think of the fate of others. Surely there are some established procedures for verification. what are they? why are they not the airtel website? Does the public not have a right to know? An airtel employee tells me that there are strict instructions that verification of residence addresses should only be done on weekends. So who is checking how verification is actually done?

I am unnecessarily being subjected to harassment on account of sloppy verification and worse monitoring. I regret having converted to post paid, and I regret doing so with Airtel.

Scam and cheating!
I've been receiving the OUTBOUND IVR CALL to register up for hello tunes, alerts etc... to which i don't want to get register, though i called up customer care and told them stop giving the outbound call for the same. I'm still receiving this same OUTBOUND CALL again and again daily. This is totally bullish and giving lot annoyance to the customer!

Worst customer care service!
I have been using a prepaid connection from Airtel, with a lifetime validity. As I reside in a foriegn country, i brought the sim with me, later understood that my sim will be deactivated after 6 months idle time(then what is the mean of lifetime validity, God Only Knows).

Then, i started sending many emails to the customer care and learned that if i can recharge using any of the bank's site, the sim will be active. I tried many times with the banks and No recharge is done. My outgoing calls are baud as well as the SMS. I am not able to recharge, and the six months term is going to get over.

I emailed the customer care many times, and nothing is replied. And i even mailed the nodal officer responsible for my region and nothing is happening. If I lose my sim in this way, sure i got to sue this company when i go india.

Most ill trained customer care
We are subscriber to airtel 3 base line connections. We being harassed by airtel service so much that we have decided to harass them in return, so now we are going to use the telephone & internet on full scale but we will not make any payment.

Airtel has got one of the worts bill payment structure in the world. People who pay on time like us are barred from using internet and telephone, even after making full payment by cheque. When u call their customer care the behavior of customer care is also shameful

Horrible service
I have Airtel pre paid mobile number 9818403809 having long term validity. I came to united States and wrote to their customer service many times requesting them to let me know how much is to be paid for one year renewal of prepaid connection.
I always got a computer generated confirmation informing me that some one will reply in 24 hours..However no body in the organization bothered to reply inspite of a number of repeated requests. A specific complaint also did not yield any response.

Ultimately, i had to send my sim-card to india with a friend and to my horror they have renewed it only for a month saying it is in grace period. I am suffering for no fault of mine and do not know whether same number will now be renewed for one year. I am sure even if you take up the matter with th e company they will not reply.

This is not the only incident. I also have a land line at Noida 4330230.Last year their agent collected bill payment in cash, issued company receipt and did not deposit the amount in company. I got call from their customer service that i have not made payment. I informed them of factual position.and to my utter supride they disconnected my landline. I went to their office explained position but was told to make another payment for same bill which i had to do to get reconnection. On complaint to their senior officer the matter was investigated and confirmed that a double payment had been made. To my surprise, in next bill the same issue of non payment cropped up and i had to make a number of calls to resolve matter. I was not compensated in any way for disconnection. Even a letter to their head office did not yield any compensation for harassment.

I have noticed that Airtel promises alot but fails to live up to what they say. There customer service is nothing but a back end office for noting complaints and lack ability to coordinate with company to solve customers problem.

I am confident that even if you toke up issue with them they will not send any e-mail reply or express regret.

Problems of service activation
On 30th September 2007 i paid 1200 rs for service of airtel to airtel 15ps, airtel to other mobile 30ps, airtel to landline 50ps and std 1.50 rs. I paid 600 rs each for me and my mother (i.e total 1200 rs) to get this services and provided them all necessary documents to them. They told that service will be activated within 12 hours. But till 4th Oct service is not activated. If we call them always they tell we will do this within 1 hour, like this they told me 3 to 4 times but still service is not activated. Very poor service.

Fraud & cheating!
I have complained to airtel many a time through customer care, that i don't need services of hello tunes on my telephone. Inspite of it, they are keeping hello tune and charging money for that. Everytime they say that they have deactivated this service, but everytime i am charged for this service in my bill. This is nothing, but cheating the customer forcibly!

Abuse language and irresponsibility of Airtel employees
This may seems like a regular comment by many more persons in this site, and you may seen many many similar postings against airtel.

One day i've called airtel customer care on their mobile number and i'm not getting his (ccare guy) voice and he told me to speak a bit louder and i've tried several times to the same number as it disconnected after 10 sec's. And atlast i can able to speak one guy and he is really very arrogant and the words he spoke to me is never heard by me and i cant write them here. Their service is worst and the response is also worst.

Can anyone answer how they are getting business even after doing such nonsense?

The gprs connectivity is poor and signals is always unreachable even after sitting in the same building where tower is placed.

Airtel people are very lazy(not applicable to 121 ccare people) even after submitting papers also in a airtel office 10 days later you have to face intruption in services due to non submission of papers etc. And in that sms they mention call customer care after disconnecting the service. If we try to dial 121 outgoing is barred to 121 also. How the customer call ccare using the bloody airtel service.

They are brainless.

If i write all problems of airtel, the space in this server will be over still i'll be short of something.
