Customer harassment, unsatisfactory service
Hi,

I got a new connection from Airtel postpaid of plan Rs.599/-. From Calcutta, West Bengal Circle.

After using it for just 15 days, one of the executive from there customer Care asked me to pay a amount of Rs.400/- plus, as I am nearing to the credit limit.

I said that unless I received any bill and just using for it 15 days how come I can pay the said amount, I also said them unless I receive any bill statement, I shall not pay any amount.

After a week, again an executive form their customer Care. Asked me to pay the total bill of Rs.735/- as this is the bill amount been made in respect of my number. But as I am not in the town, so I said once I returned from my trip, I will pay the said amount by checking the bill. Just on the same evening my connection get disconnected. And I am totally taken back, how could they can do it, After returning from my trip, when I asked to their customer Care.

They said that it is their system of operation once the amount get exceeded the credit limit they will disconnect the service. OH GOD! what type of Operator... they are.

I have disconnected the connection and taken a new Hutch Connection which is much finer way of operation.

I don't know if anyone have any answer for this harassment and way to deal with.

Wrong billing
My mobile no. is 9997779665 in Dehradun circle. Since last two bills i.e. July & August, I am getting exaggerated amount. I was told by the service provider that I have used no. 53030 in excess. I want to make it clear that I have used this number only twice and that too for downloading only two 'hello tunes'. Please look into my complain and and adjust Rs 1500/- charged in excess. I have serious doubt about cloning of the number.

Rude and worst customer care staff
Around six months ago I called airtel customer care at 2am. I don't remember the name of the customer care staff but I got male staff. As soon as I started saying something I got a reply from the customer care person and this reply was something that one can not expect from customer care of a company. He said in Hindi "Abey hindi mein bol, hindi nahin aati kya" I was surprised after hearing this kind of shit from customer care.

I requested for supervisor but he didn't give the phone to supervisor and said " Abey bol main hoon na" and finally he disconnected my call. So I could not speak about my problem for which I called up and got terrific... horrible experience.

I wrote many emails to airtel but I didn't receive any reply. I found this website today so I am writing my experience. Airtel punchline should be.

DO NOT EXPRESS YOURSELF OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE ABUSED.

Low speed of post paid mobile office
I took my new Airtel post paid connection yesterday (07.05.2007) with mobile office but still it is not running mobile office properly. Internet speed is between 10- 5 kbps and most of the time it is on 0 kbps. So many of the updation is pending.

Very bad service!
I am a customer of Airtel postpaid mobile services from last 11 year. My number is 9810043510. During a tour abroad I have lost my SIM. I made a complaint and block the SIM and request for a new SIM. I made a request on 28th April 2007 and I got only SIM but the services still not started. I have made complaint lot more times but the executives said that we required 4 hour to start the services.

The result is nil. I talked to enterprises services executive lot more times, Mr Imran khan (9818594238) assured but he was also not able to start the services till time.

I am not able to understand that what is the meaning of 4 hrs and commitment in the dictionary of Airtel.

The service is very bad.

Better to switch to other operator!
I had taken a new postpaid connection which was activated on the 22/Mar/07. As per the original documents which i had filled and signed while applying, i had my residential address as my billing address. On 27th Mar'07 an executive from Airtel came to my residence for Address Verification and the same was completed to his satisfaction and i personally met him and signed the Customer Information form which he was carrying.

On the 28th Mar'07, my outgoing services were barred by the company with the reason that there was some problem with the Address verification team. I called up Customer care 4 times on 28th each time getting an assurance that my services would be activated within an hour and the address re-verification would also be carried out the very next day. I had a word with Ravinder and others. However the services were not restored on 29th also. On 29th Morning i talked to Gaurav Barthwal, and his supervisor ( request id 12024364) who told me that he would get the original documents checked and within 24 hours the services would be restored. Then i received an sms saying that my request id is 12025243.

The services were not restored on 30th also. I had a word with Ruchi in the Retention department who told me that it is your choice to shift to other service providers like Idea and Hutch and we would not be able to help you. Without a resolution, i received an sms saying that my resolution number is 419226241.

If the people sitting in the Retention department of India's biggest mobile service provider are so bent upon in losing their customers with no fault at their end then it would be definitely be better to switch to any other operator.

A wake up call for customer care services of Airtel

I had bought the Airtel postpaid card for the mobile number stated above before two weeks. After furnishing all the relevant documents required, I am still waiting for my number to get activated.

This was under Corporate Scheme (Compnay Name: Lehman Brothers, Powai, Mumbai ). My request is been processed by a person called Amit (9867584256) whom I had given all required documents. I had gone through Office Address verification and my relatives got contacted twice for the verification (someone has visited the place twice and met to my aunt). Its appalling that every time I called, I was assured that the number would get activated in so and so time but it never happened. And today when I contacted Customer Care service I am told that the verification is not been done as your relatives were not present. Actually the verification is done by twice by my relatives for Alternate Address even i had details about the questions been asked for the verification.

The whole process had been a real headache for me and my relatives as well. I really wonder even though having all details of dealers, if a person from Customer Care says that we can not do anything and you need to pursue the dealer and need to get the things cleared. The person whom I have submitted the documents is not picking up the phone and even I am not getting help from Customer Services.

In this Customer Service Oriented world, if someone from the great company like Airtel, which claims to be one of the best says we can not give any help (I believe someone can certainly inquire about conflicting verification details as I hared that area-wise specific people go for verification) is like a joke and I really wonder about "Customer Care Services" which cannot care for customers

This is ridicules that the company like Airtel can't cater to a new customer to the best of its abilities. I was to use Airtel for the first time. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be using Airtel even if the number gets activated. The reason is the promptness or rather the lack of it from your/the shop/your agent's side. You have lost a customer most probably and you might lose many more if this is the level of service that you'll provide.

And best of that I made complaint to [email protected] and [email protected]. But still i have not got replies from any.

No offense meant and none taken. Just a wake up call for you. I hope that I get at least a reply for this.

Cheats in disguise of executives
My Parents had an Airtel Post Paid connection in their name which they wanted to discontinue and Faxed a letter to Airtel in the month end of october2006.The connection was immediately discontinued,no calls could be received nor any could be made,but the bills have still not stopped pouring into our letter box,we have even been subjected to a notice stating that if we did not pay the bills from oct2006 till date we will be prosecuted.My 67 years old parents are receiving threat calls from Airtel Customer Care .Both me and my brother are living abroad and feeling horribly helpless about this situation.

Is there any way this can be stopped? Is there at least one Human being in this so called "Care" unit of Airtel's?

Non activation of Southzone roaming
I am a post paid customer of Warangal District, A.P.& have requested through message SR2 ACTYIVE for southzone roaming facility on 22-12-2006 as guided by call centre 121 executive and received a message that my request has been registered & will be processed within 48 working hours and the call charges @ 2/- per minute from message centre No:919849087012 on 22-12-2006 at 20:19:53. On reaching Chennai for training I was astonished to see that the same was not activated after 48 hours.On return from Chennai when I contacted 121 it was stated that the same was not activated till 30-12-2006 and sought explanation from them while explaining the difficulties mental agony faced by me during my stay out of Andhra Pradesh. It was informed from the backend that an amount of Rs.100/- adjustment for non providing the service was granted. Do not trust Airtel!

Lack of clarity in the schemes!
I have taken post-paid connection (Rs.999 for 2 years) plan from Airtel Delhi in Oct'06. I have not received any bill so far. Also, I am told whenever I want to avail roaming facility, I have to visit local Airtel office and deposit Rs.1500/- to activate and on return deactivate. Is it true? The problem is, the customer care executives themselves are not clear on the schemes. When we inquire, they start checking with themselves and give us some odd solutions on their own.
