I stay in Chennai and have been using Airtel Lifetime mobile number 9790755059 for past few years. Three days back (28Dec2009) i find the SIM deactivated.The customer service is hopeless who reply they dont have details about cancelled mobile numbers.They ask me to go to an AIRTEL showroom. When i approach the Velachery showroom he puts me thro the same customer service who asks me to visit Airtel office at Saidapet/guindy etc.The nodal officer number 9952434865 is always set to automated busy reply.

To top it all on 22Dec2009 i had recharged my SIM for Rs.50(trans ID.720930608). When Airtel is able to accept topup recharge no one is able to help me activate my Mobile number. When i threatened to cancell my Airtel Landline number dint bring in any effect, who were promptly polite to direct me to landline tollfree number

Very sad days for Airtel indeed. Not able to keep up with competition.I observe that BSNL has the best offers and plans presently with no Hidden charges, but very few people at BSNL can explain the details.
