No papers or Lifetime Warrenty
My cousin bought an AKC golden labrador puppy from Breedersdirect.com. She bought from them because of their lifetime warranty. The puppy in the picture she picked was not the one she received. The one pictured was almost white with big dark brown eyes. The puppy shipped was darker coat almost reddish and eyes with white rims. When she complained it was not the same puppy, they said the dog was older now then when the picture was taken and it had shed it's puppy coat. A complete lie and how do you shed the rims of your eye color??? They said they do not do refunds and have a no return policy. The dog came with no papers and she has repeatedly called them on that to the point that they will not return any of her calls. When they were returning calls, they kept saying the breeder is getting the papers together and will send them in the mail. It's been 18 months now and still no papers. The dog does not really look pure breed now that she is grown up. She looks like hound lab mix and is too long in the body, so we know papers don't exist. Dog is young but having some trouble getting up from laying down so must be having some hip issues. The lifetime warranty is a joke because you have to register the dog to be covered by the warranty. How on earth can you register a dog with no papers?. B.D. said they only deal with reputable LOCAL breeders but they are actually located in Florida and we are here in California. Breeders direct is a broker and should be called Puppy Mill Direct because they are nothing more then a puppy mill clearing house. We know now that good breeders do not sell through a broker and papers are always furnished at the point of sale. Lesson learned!
