I purchased some jewelery including a pair of bangles. When I was wearing these bangles, I noticed an obvious manufacturing defect, a hole in the inner side of the bangle and it was chirping from all sides, (it would be visible only on close examination as the design was an intricate Calcutta make). We went to the shop and told them about the defect within a week of purchase and they said they will repair it and give it back to us, but when we went to collect these items we noticed that the repair was not done, all the damages were visible.
The shop then advised us that this what they can do best, as the bangle came from India and it was a hand made collection, it could not be repaired, so we thought instead of taking the irreparable defective piece we might as well exchange it, we got it exchanged with a bangle with 6 gms more, we paid the difference in the making charge, the difference in gold rate as well. But it was the limit when he charged us 330 Dhs. For the process of exchange!!!
In a country like UAE where consumers are the king a jewelery store is cheating in public!
At least the new consumers be aware about these malpractices and never buy anything from Al Jazira Jewelery, Hamdan Branch, Abu Dhabi-UAE.
