CARS BAD CONDITIONS
i rented a car in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas airport. The first car they gave me, the air conditioning didn't work, i reported to them and they gave another one, it wast worse, when I try to see how fast I was going, i realiced that the speedometer didn work, then the brakes were not in the optimus conditions, and the air conditionign worked one day, the next day did not. I reported all these bad conditions, and they were aware of it, but they couldn´t do anything.
So, how dare to rent cars in poor conditions?? if they were aware of it, why they didn´t notifed me???????

Charged twice for the rental
Hi.
Booked a car rental from a website called arguscarhire which coated me some £85 for 3 days including insurance. After the hire period I received a invoice which showed me only 1 day + 54 ltr of petrol. and charged me £99.76.
I called Alamo car rental and they told me they have charged me by mistake and they will arange a refund. After 2-3 days I received one more invoice for £69.64 and that was also taken from my credit card.
Calling back Alamo they told me that I am charged correctly and if I have any issues I should send an e-mail to europcar customer care. I have sent a e-mail to Europcar customer care it's been almost 1 week but not even a single reply.
Every time I call them it is a 087 number which costs me, I have lost a lot of money by calling these people and still my issue is not resolved.
Please don't book your car rentals from europcar / Alamo car rentals . I will never ever book from these people in my life. waste of money and a lot of stress

Neglect to honor contract at Las Vegas
In Feb. 2009 I had paid over $500. through the Priceline bid process for a full sized vehicle. If I did not show, they kept the money. When I arrived, there were no full sized vehicles at LAS: three Chrysler Sebring converts. and some minivans. I had to drive to LA so took the less that full size Sebring. Since it is a convertible, Alamo considers it an equal replacement for a full size vehicle. After renting over a hundred vehicles in several different countries since 1963, I had to file for the first time an incident report with my insurance company!!! Having never driven a convertible, with that driverside rear view constriction, I grazed a tree while backing out of a friend's driveway for the first time. $1071.89. This amount was collected by a third party. Alamo had the name of my insurance company, and my policy number, but they go through some collection agent who called me at home in the evening. If Alamo had honored the contract I made with them that they would have a full size vehicle, without that restricted vision which all covertibles seem to have, I say that this inident would not have happened. Last year, Jan 2008, I had reserved a midsize vehicle with Alamo at the same location. Upon arrival, all they had were several SUVs, a Chevy Yukon!!! It was almost midnight, what was my choice? Next day I returned it and got a Huyndai. My loss was a cell phone charger left in the Yukon, which Alamo lost and found, never did find. Can they not do anything at some acceptable level of common decent responsibility?
In the future, no more Alamo/National anywhere. National, guess where one customer's Emerald Club Card is going {Actually, it just went} Goodbye rubbish.

Citation fees I was charged
I rented a car from Alamo in October..Now, all of a sudden I keep getting fees put on my charge card..When I call, I am told they are for tickets I recieved during the week I rented from Alamp...I never recieved any tickets when I was renting thier car and never recieved any notices of tickets..When I call Alamo, They can not geive me any information and simply say they paid tickets for me...They can not direct me to a phone number at thier citation department...Nothing.. This had been going on for months ..I wonder every time I open my charge bill, what new fees Alamo plans to stick me with..
DO NOT USE ALAMO>>>>THEY ARE CROOKS !

Charges twice for the same thing
Alamo Car Rental (Pittsburgh, PA) is deceitful. After renting a car for period of one week, they charged me with a parking ticket (not once but twice) that I did not see. The original ticket was $16 but Alamo added another $50 service fees. Then, 20 days later, while I paid the first, they charged me again, this time $77. They refuse to acknowledge they are charging twice for the same thing. I’ve tried to call but Alamo’s policy does not give their customers a way to voice their complaints about these things. Currently, I’ve stopped my credit card payment 3 times with the first two rubber stamped by Alamo that “double dipping” for parking tickets (plus extreme fees) is what they do. Don’t rent from Alamo.

Totally worst car service!
Pick-up car from airport in Las Vegas, rented 7 nites, parked in hotel first two nites. Third day, used car, found had a nail in tire? Don't they check everything on car before renting again??? Call Alamo, requested they come to replace with a good tire, they told me we don't do tires?that I support to take it to get it repair. I said, I paid for a good, working car not to take it to have a service. I'm on vacation, spend half day to get repair on tire. I don't think Alamo know how to do business, I paid for a GOOD WORKING CAR, with NO PROBLEMS!!! If I do have problems, they SHOULD DO ALL TO HELP ASAP. NOT SAY SOMETHING DIFFERENT and Do NOTHING!!! I don't advice anybody to rent from ALAMO. I WON"T DO ANY BUSINESS WITH ALAMO EVER AGAIN> I ALSO WILL TELL ALL FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS, ITS MANY IN CORP WORLD .

Beware! Extra charges not included on quote!
Rented a car with Alamo after getting an online quote of $373.12
told them I didn't need any extra insurance cover but when I received the final bill I've been charged $1043!!!! This is because (apparently) I have no choice and had to take out the extra insurance even though nothing was said to me at time of rental so it was added to my bill.
Wish I'd have checked the bill more carefully but after a 7 hour flight and with a 3 hour drive ahead sometimes these things get missed as you can appreciate. Spoke to Alamo UK and US, both completely useless. Wouldn't admit the original quote was just a con (also no mention of a premium location supplement.... $60). Be very careful if you use these people. They are con artists and very expensive.... $100 a day for a compact car? hmmm sounds expensive to me, how bout you?

No refund!
In the summer of 2005, my wife and I planned a trip to England, and booked a van rental for a couple of days through AutoReservation.com with Alamo car rentals, so that we could take friends of ours and our daughter and her boyfriend to the Isle of Wight. When we got to pick up the van in Brighton, they wanted to charge $1500.00 (refundable) on my credit card in advance of renting the van, claiming it was standard practice. I had rented vehicles in England before, and had never been hit with such an advance charge. Friends had even rented from Alamo in England, and had not been hit with such a charge. Not only did they refuse to drop the charge, but staff at the Brighton office who were floating around the background made snide comments to the effect that the counterperson should double the charge. I declined the rental, and we used the car of friends in England, but AutoReservation.com would not refund their $40.00 charge, and Alamo claimed their fees were commonplace when I wrote to them later to complain. Not in my experience! (Incidentally, they put the $1500.00 charge through before I realized what they were up to, and left it there for several days afterwards!) Be careful booking things over the internet--especially with these two companies!
