I was in the Grand Teton Mall in Idaho Falls and passed one of the cell phone vendors this one was an Alert Verizon Dealer. As you all know im sure, they always try to stop you and give you a pitch to try and sell you a phone, and this salesman did. I was currently an Altell Customer and Verizon had bought out Altell. So he told me I could up grade to verizon now and get new phones since i am on a share plan with my sister. And have no cancellation fees from Altell. It kinda sounded to good to be true since I was only one year into my Altell Contract so i kept asking him this is true? your sure? and he reassured me it was. So I went for it since my phone had been giving me problems lately. Now this is where it gets pretty sad. We find my sisters phone is used it has peoples pic and text msg conversations on it and stuff, so she takes it back a few days later. They trader her with a supposable a new phone. with in days it starts freezing up and buttons quit working. She calls Verizon customer service to get a warranty on it and they tell her that since its a new phone there will be a warranty on it but she needs to take it to Alert, but looks more into it to make sure she will be able to warranty it and finds that it is a used phone for the second time. So since i am the contract holder i go with her to Alert to exchange the phone and make sure she gets a new one this time since we are paying for new. this is about two weeks into the Verizon Contract. While we are trading her phone at the Pine Ridge mall Alert store in Pocatello where we live. Altell calls me wanting $500 for cancellation fee. So I tell the store manager who was there what just happened and says well if you were with in four months of the end of your Altell Contract they cant charge you. I said i am a year into my two year contract. Your guy in Idaho Falls assured me that I would walk away from Altell since Verizon bought them out. After some conversing he says there is nothing he can do but the regional manager will be visiting his store later that day and he will tell him and call me. He never called to i called Jeff the store manager and he tells me its not looking good for me. WHAT your guy lies to me and its not looking good for me. Geez him lieing alone should void that contract. Il just go back with good old Altell. So after that i Call Higher. Corp office in Cali. but I can just talk to customer service reps and tell me they send an E-Mail to sales reps and stuff and then they will contact me. no one has. I am still working on it cause there is no way i am paying $500. Il take it to court if I have to. Do not use Alert or really any authorized dealer. go to the Phone company corp. store to get a phone.
