We attended a conference at the Alexis Park Resort and Spa in Las Vegas in October. When we arrived the conference of what would be about 160 of us had already started.

Right away we were told that the Secretary of the groups room had been broken into and that conference registration money had been stolen.

Unbelievably at 4:30 am that morning I was woken by a loud noise and yelled at my husband to wake up that someone was breaking into our room. I opened the door from the bedroom to the bathroom to find a woman in our bathroom! I yelled at her and asked her what she was doing as my husband herded her toward the door - lucky for us she was unarmed and acted like she had made a mistake and gotten into the wrong room. My husband opened the door and told her to "just go."

We were in shock - it really was a frightening experience that could have been life threatening. I went into the bathroom and realized that part of the bathroom window was gone and the towel rack on the floor - the towel racks fall is what woke us up. We put on our clothes and called security. When I asked them what kind of place they were running as other members of our group had been robbed they said they did not believe our secretary had been robbed because they could tell no one had come through the door - we pointed at our window, which by the way was never found.

We had to stay in the place another 2 days and we barricaded our bedroom doors - It took them until the next afternoon to get the window replaced. They did want us to change rooms but we had tons of convention stuff that would have to had been moved and since we had been broken into in that room we figured they wouldn't try again.

** But the worst was the general manager of the Hotel who laughed at me when I asked for some kind of compensation on the room cost because of the horrific experience that we had gone through - he actually laughed!!!! Figure that we paid $113 a night and travelocity listed the room for $79 he even could have done something without losing much. We have never been treated with so much disrespect and lack of care for our lives.

We took the time to fill our a police report before leaving town and this can be checked so that you know this is all true.

This place caters to conventions and weddings - don't do it no matter how good you think the deal is - they care nothing for the safety of their guests!
