Unprofessional, Charged Wrong Amount, Excessive Wait Times
This is the worst dentist office I have ever been to. The staff is negligent and unprofessional. The wait times are excessive. They make you pay in advance to reserve appointments, and ironically they tell you the wrong amount so that they can charge you more after the appointment. The staff is impossible to deal with after appointments. They only want you for your money.
I would pull out my own teeth with a crowbar before ever stepping foot in another AllCare Dental office.

billing
Looking into my insurance coverage, I chose Allcare mainly because of its hours of availability. Wrong move. Went for my first visit, was told I had to have teeth pulled after x-rays were taken. Filled out a loan application to have this work done for over $5000.oo, was approved, set the date for the procedure, and went on my way. In between time, I checked them out and became very unsure of my decision because of comments received from others who had work done there and were very dissatisfied. Called and cancelled everything, told them to bill my insurance for work done. Had to go thru this stupid long process to get my "loan" cancelled for work I was not having done. Finally got a resolution from Chase Health Advance, but they told me I still owed them $102.00 plus interest for the work I had done. Told them that my insurance company had already paid this same exact amount and that I was not paying for work that had already been paid for by my insurance company. They told me I had to contact Allcare, which I will do tomorrow. This company is nothing but a royal pain. They are a business first, and a dental care provider a far distant second. Avoid them at all costs.

Bad service
I am seriously mind boggled by the care and customer service i have received at Allcare. I've been waiting since Dec. 27 to get my new bridge completed because it was done wrong. I've had 3 different dentists, 4 different office managers.I have lost one tooth to an infection and will need a root canal, build up and possible bone surgery do to this botched bridge. I've waited 3 months for them to get me a root canal. I had a consultation else where and its become a dental emergency. I called the office that I go to and they have no idea of my issues as a patient. I had to inform the manager so that he new my issues. They just sent a Claims adjuster out to take my statement. At this point nobody from Allcare has called or e-mailed to let me know what to expect from any of this. I will be paying for my root canal and hope that Allcare pays me back. This is just a brief overview of my issues with Allcare.

Don't waste your time !!! My 76 yr old Mother had dentures made there. The dentist is a quack can't understand her. The place looks like a dental lab !! What a waste of MONEY !!! She can't wear her dentures to painful.. I don't want to take her back for an adjustment because the dentist is rude also..Ted the "financial man" is a joke too...I asked for a denture case and was told I could buy one for $1.50 at
Wal-Mart...Really...I guess we learned the hard way...

Billing Issues
The only reason we went there in the first place is they were on the approved providers list and close out our house. I wish I had checked the BBB rating and seen the "F" rating and kept searching.
I was not crazy about the "open concept" where work is done in chairs in cubicles but the staff seemed professional on the actual visits.
My complaint is the billing area in New York. My visits were in 6/08 the first few months they failed to submit the proper paperwork to the insurance company and the claims were denied. I sent them at check for the estimated amount I would owe after insurance after numerous phone calls and letters indicating that was what was estimated that I owed and that they needed to contact my insurance carrier and get whatever paperwork they were not completing correctly resolved and the payments were made by my insurance carrier 12/08 and it turned out that I had overpaid them $21.80 - I asked for it back but never got a response and I was just glad to be done with them and didn't pursue the matter - until over a year later in 1/10 I received a past due bill for nearly $200.
I wrote, called, emailed them and received no response. I contacted my insurance carrier and they verified that not only did I not owe Allcare anything, Allcare sent back the a $104 check sent for my son's services as it was a promotion for first x-rays and cleaning for children was a free visit. The insurance carrier has called them several times and reached a voice mail and never gotten a call back either.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB but I am not optimistic as I have found numerous complaints online about this company by others that have used their services and they have never responded to BBB complaints for them either. It really makes me wonder if it is not just a mistake, but an attempt to defraud customers hoping they have lost their paperwork/proof of payment and will just pay it to make it go away.
I would recommend avoiding this company at all costs and if they are listed on your insurance carrier as an approved provider to recommend that they removed and cite their "F" rating with the BBB as justification for doing so.

Lack of professional staff and lack of concern when a credit was due on my account.
My son had an appointment at Allcare Dental at 3pm on a Friday, May 14th. We did not leave until 7pm and the only thing that occured was that the office manager, John explained to us that before any work was done for my son, we must pay the full amount upfront.
I was disappointed and asked him if this is the usual protocol? He stated, "yes that all of our customers pay before any work is completed". I decided the next day that I would stop back by and see John and cancel the future appointments and get a refund on my credit card.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE? John was not the nice man that I had met the day before. He had a frown on his face and refused to give me a credit and said that I would received it in two to three weeks. When I inquired as to why, he said, "I tell you what, go over to Best Buys and purchase a TV or whatever and don't even take it out of the box and take it back the next day and see what happens. I explained to him that I would not leave until he put that in writing. John picked up the phone and called the young lady at the front desk and told her to bring a piece of letterhead. When she came into the room he then told her to write whatever I told her too. After stating what John had told me about how, when and why I would receive my refund, I asked him to put his signature on the paper, which he did.
Now today is May 28th and tomorrow will be two weeks since I inquired about my refund. I received the credit card bill in the mail today with the full balance with a payment due on June 14th. I called the credit card company and explained my delima and filed a disbute charge against Allcare Dental.
Due to there unprofessionalism and lack of concern for my situation, I will not only NEVER return to do business with that company but I will make sure that everyone I know hears my story. I have lived in Chattanooga all my life and I believe that I can make a little bit of am impact on John's future.
When I met John I told him within 30 seconds that he reminded me of a finance manger with a car dealership. Well, he turn around and looked at me and told me that his dad had owned several dealerships and that is exactly what he did for a living before Allcare Dental. He continued by telling me that he never sold cars but he just did the financing. IT SHOWED!
Thank you,
Judy Mock

DO NOT go to Allcare Dental in Chattanooga!
My twenty-something year-old sister just had a horrific experience with Allcare Dental in Chattanooga. She woke up with a swollen face and a lot of pain and went to Allcare, since her dental insurance had not yet gone into effect. After having x-rays, she was told she had infected teeth and needed to have ALL her upper teeth and some of her lower teeth removed. Once that "easy" task was accomplished, she would leave with dentures the day of the extractions. This was presented as if there were no other options, and she was told if she chose not to have all the teeth pulled, she would die from the infection. Unbelievable!
All of this is ridiculous and quite bizarre, since my sister has not had any major dental issues in the past. After getting a second opinion from a competent dentist who did his own x-rays, she has some cavities and needs two root canals. He was shocked to hear about Allcare's plan for her!
I am seriously concerned that this place is still in business in Chattanooga. It sounds as if the other locations are just as sketchy from the reviews I have read. The employees at Allcare began talking about payment plans within minutes of delivering the horrible news, despite the fact that my sister was shocked and devastated! Allcare in Chattanooga is an unprofessional money-making factory, which uses deceit to prey upon those who want to save some of their hard-earned funds. If you value your teeth, your money, and your mental health do not go to Allcare Dental and Dentures!

Rip Off and Poor Dental Practices
Oh my Gosh, First Impressons is everything. My husband and I walked into this nasty office, floors were nasty and dirty, and were talking nasty, stains on carpeting everywhere, so your sitting there wondering, what will my expereince be when I get in the backroom, Well to my husbands surpise, they took a full set of Xrays, as his intentions was to get 2 teeth extracted. And while there, try to get info, on what it would cost to have his remaining teeth extracted, and full set of dentures placed in his mouth at time of extraction.
Long story short, we were then lead into a room to dicuss what plan the dentist suggested and about $5000 later, and this is with dental insurance, I think they saw us coming! LOL
Its really no laughing matter, but this place is only out of te mony, and no concern on the well being of the patient.
Now my story is 3 1/2 years ago, I should have known not to go back there for my husbands dental work...back to 3 years ago, I had partials made both top & bottom and from the first few months, they never fit right in my mouth. These partials have spent more time in my dresser drawer than in my mouth, I asked while there yesterday, if they could just realine my partials and was told, that I probably needed fillings done on my front teeth again, since its been a couple of years. Whats???
I havent been having any issues with my front teeth, other than my partials not fitting right?
Now they want me to get all my front teeth filled and capped?
They are nute...I am not going back there.
I am sure I am just one voice, to speak out about there practices ...I say they are very un professional
Again, please don't use this place, they are a RIP OFF

Totally unprofessional and bad dental practices
I went to Allcare Dental to have all my teeth pulled and get full dentures. Like everyone else has complained, there is NO privacy, the dentist and hygenists (STUDENTS) are VERY unprofessional. x-rays were EXTREMELY painful, reception staff is RUDE. On the day I had my initial consultation I was told that I would have to be put on antibiotics due to infected teeth, but was NEVER given a perscription for them.. Went back for my extractions A MONTH LATER and the dentist gave me the maximum amount of the numbing shots that he could and I could still feel sharp pain due to the infection.. He pulled all of my molars out anyway even though they were EXTREMELY infected and I asked him to stop because it hurt!! His reason he gave me for doing this was, "so we don't have to do so much the next time you come in!" I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A FULL EXTRACTION THAT DAY!!! He left me with a few broken front teeth "to chew with." To top it off, the STUDENT that was assisting wrote me a perscription for an antibiotic that I am allergic to... when I complained that I couldn't take it I was told that I never told them I was allergic to it!! IT IS HIGHLIGHTED IN MY FILE!!! They gave me a new script and sent me on my way. Went back in the next day for my post-op check up and told them that I was severly ill, the infection had QUICKLY spread throughout my body, when I took the gauze out of my mouth the night after my extractions I was oozing so much infection the gauze was actually a gray/blue color instead of red blood... They told me that that was to be expected due to the amount of infection I had in my mouth! So why did he even pull my teeth?! He could have killed me! Then I complained that one side of my jaw hurt REALLY badly... he told me that was also expected, I let it slide... Then he wrote me a perscription for a pain killer that, when mixed with my daily meds I take, would ACTUALLY kill me!!! Didn't even bother to check on it before he gave me that Rx even though I told him that there are A LOT of things I can NOT take with this daily medicine without a severe or fatal reaction!!! For the past week I have lost 5 pounds because I cannot eat anything and have gotten no more than 2 hours of sleep a night due to the pain in my jaw... come to find out, he didn't even pull my molars... HE SNAPPED THEM OFF INSIDE MY GUMS AND LEFT THEM TO HEAL OVER!!! I know this because I can feel them poking through my gums with the tip of my finger!
DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST!!! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!! DO NOT!!!

Horrible Experience
The worst experience I have ever had at a dentist office. The prices are extremely high. They wanted THREE visits paid in advance and you are required to accept ALL procedures they suggest. You are welcome to sign up for their line of credit, which they do their best to convince you of. However you may not just pay for the service they provide or even for one visit in advance. There is no "rooms" per say. You are in the open and all personal information is discussed in front of all other patients. They refuse to send any patient information even when a request from another dentist is sent. For $20 each x-ray can be sent. A total of 16 different quarter size x-rays are taken in a very uncomfortable manner. The only positive thing is they have immediate appointments available. I understand now the reason for this. Don't waste your time. It's well worth the wait to visit a good dentist. Your teeth and your wallet will thank you.
