Allcare Dental Reviews

Rip off
The service and the job that Allcare did on my teeth was not bad. However, when I went there, the staff was highly unprofessional. The dental assistant told me all about her love life. She even used the work d**k, and used cuss words. On my first visit, they had a temporary manager. I think his name was Bryce. He somehow fast talked me into signing up to have four crowns put in when I only needed two, which would cost me $55 per month. So the next day, I came back and told him I only needed two, and they fixed it for me, and the payments would be the same. By the time I had my two new crowns put in, they had a new manager, however I cannot remember her name. She also reviewed the finances and said they would be $55 per month through a company called Care Credit. A couple of weeks later, I get my first bill from Care Credit, and my jaw dropped. It was $130! I called Allcare Dental right away and she said she would take care of it for me. Well, the next month it was back to $55. The following month, was back up to $130! So I called this company called Care Credit, and I could not hardly understand a word they said, and they repeated my name over and over again. Anyways, I'm screwed. They won't lower my monthly payments to what Allcare said they would be, and every statement I get in the mail, I get a phone call two days later from Care Credit. They even called me first thing in the morning on Valentine's day. Needless to say, I will never go back to Allcare dental, and unfortunately, I have to use my tax returns to pay off this stupid bill. I was really hoping to use it towards my new home.

Credit for services not used
I had a tooth on the bottom that was chipped but didn't even hurt yet so when I needed to have 4 teeth pulled for an upper partial plate I changed my plan with them so it wouldn't be pulled in September 2008. When I got there the were ready to pull the painless tooth and I said no. When you have many teeth pulled for a partial or dentures you get a mild sedative to take before your appointment so when they said they'd just pull it anyway I hesitantly agreed. They did charge my insurance company when they said they'd just do it and said it there'd be no charge. Such liars. I went back 3 months later to have a checkup to see how I was healing so I could get my permanent partial and they said that I couldn't get it as 2 of my 4 upper teeth went bad seeing they didn't have the other teeth for added strength. Allcare said I could have my $$1200 back. NOT!! After a month of trying to contact them I finally got a credit on my credit care for a bit over $500. Far cry from the $1110 I paid out of pocket. For some reason my insurance co. (I'll be calling Monday) still hasn't paid for 3 of the extractions so Allcare kept $342 for that. Insurance hadn't paid for the permanent partial plate either that's why I received some payment back they said. At least I received some money back, but I'm not finished yet with them. Allcare is truly a scam outfit that wants all of your money up front at an overcharge. You depend on a dentist to be kind and at a fair price. My new dentist (referred by coworkers) is pulling the last 4 teeth and I'm getting a full top denture soon. Including insurance I only have to pay $478 out of pocket. I know a partial costs about $200 more, but still it's a far cry from the $1110 I had to fork out to Allcare. I've never in my life had issues with a company and it makes me sad that these people scam patients who are in pain. Also, when I was told that I couldn't get a partial anymore at my appointment the dentist had ice for a heart. Just said you can't get a partial and you'll get your $1200 back. I never saw him again. I've seen 3 dentists there during my visits and the first one I saw was the only one that seemed to care. Funny that I haven't seen her there on subsequent visits. Hopefully she moved on. One more thing- When I was going on vacation I made an appointment (had to take off more time from work) about a 6 weeks after my extractions to have my temporary partial plate relined, that dentist said, "You have enough suction and don't need it relined. Was I ever discussted when I left then too. Need I say more? I do have even more issues with Allcare. Please don't go to Allcare Dental.

Awful experience
Had problems with dentures fitting @ appointment I had on 10/17/2008 and before I left their office I told them and they said I got out of the chair so i would need to make another appointment so I left called the next day asked to speak with the manager he stated that I could not be seen and the earliest I could be seen was Monday @ 10 AM I said is this the way you treat your customers and he stated that I was not a customer that I was a patient and this was a doctors office I told him that was bullshit and that they except walk ins and he stated that was for new patients only not to come out because he would not let me in the building I went anyway and I still was not able to be seen I told the manager that maybe I should tell his customers to go somewhere else he called the police when the police arrived I told them what happened and they agreed with me and that I was a customer and this was a business.

Stay away
Dr. P, general doctor, inserted my implant toooooo closed to other tooth that it was difficult to proceed to the next step. He has been assuring that this would be fine, but my Implant Specialist MD said "NO! » I decided to remove the implant and plan to insert a proper implant by other doctor. He and the All Care Dental agreed to pay the expenses. They promised to refund the expenses (over $3000) incurred due to their malpractice approximately a month ago over the phone, but as of today, I have not received the check yet. When I called today, they put me hold for a long time. Don't they care? Probably not. I will take this to the local Dental Association, or state.

The Scam
Just so everyone knows the truth, it is just what you think. Allcare requires all office managers to deposit at least $1, 000.00 per new patient that walks in the front door. The model for the company is to get the patient in the door no matter what. The doctor will do the exam, set up a "comprehensive treatment plan" and try to get you to pre pay for your treatment. If you cancel treatment before you have dentures finished they will charge you for "denture steps". Keep in mind the denture steps that you will be charged for are not recognized ADA codes, but this is done in an attempt to adhere patients from canceling treatment. Allcare will also limit the amount of patients with DMO/HMO insurance that they will see on a given day because the insurance company doesnt pay them as much. Allcare will also make three attempts to call a patient who has prepaid for their treatment but not had it finished. After that, the money is put into a different account and it sits, interest free, until the patient calls wanting their refund. The office managers are paid on how much money they collect, so they will try and "close" every patient for an extensive treatment plan. The denture's that they make are decent but well overpriced. The most extensive denture, which is $1, 299.00 a plate (before discounts) actually costs roughly $300.00 to make. The managers give a 5% prepay, and a 10% senior discount, but are actually authorized to give discounts up to 20%. Whatever it takes to close the deal. Just a little info!

Rip-Off
My husband and I just moved to the area and Allcare was the only place locally that is covered by our insurance. Had I known that it was located in a strip mall, I probably wouldn't have made the appointment. The whole experience was shady from the beginning. Our appointment was at 3:00 and we didn't leave until after 5:00. All the procedures were taking place in a large open room. The assistants were walking in and out of each patient area, joking with eachother which was very unprofessional and erased any feeling of privacy. The x-ray process took a half hour and was quite painful. From there they moved us to another area where our x-rays were examined and the dentist took a look in our mouths. The tools were often handled by the assistants without gloves on. My husband was told he would need a tooth extracted and 9 cavities filled. The dentist showed me my x-rays, pointing out numerous spots of decay. In total, I would need 14 cavities filled and a root canal. My husband and I have regularly seen the dentist our entire lives, brush and floss daily, are young, and in general have healthy teeth. We each have had a few cavities filled over the years, but nothing serious. According to Allcare, in the year it has been since our last dental check-up, we need a combined total of 25 teeth filled. We were then moved to a consultation room where a man laid out a treatment plan. When I questioned all the fillings, he called our previous family dentist a liar, stating that "x-rays don't lie." 2 hours later we walked out in shock and still didn't have our teeth cleaned. Allcare is just in it for the money. They are not to be trusted.
