Unauthorized charges
My husband and I used to have an Am.EX. credit card. This account has been closed for the last six months. We started getting calls this month from Allied Interstate and they are saying we owe them money on this card. We gave them 48 hours to provide proof if we owe anything. They have not done so. We have tried calling them back with the Dallas phone number and the 1-800 number and no one will answer the phone calls. I noticed that somebody found a fax number for Allied Interstate and I am going to try it today. It makes me feel very uncomfortable to know some scam artist has both our home phone number and cell number and is trying to rip us off financially.

Harassment
This evening I received a phone call from Allied Interstate about an alleged debt that I know nothing about, nor have I received a letter from this company until this phone call. When I asked for information on this alleged debt the gentleman gave me the run around, as did his supervisor who thought I was threatening him by asking for information of alleged debt to be mailed to me for verification which is my right.
Tomorrow I will send a debt verification letter to them and see what i get, if anything. Has anyone else dealt with them before?

Harassment
Yesterday, while minding my own business, in my own home, my phone rings and its Allied Interstate calling. 'Please hold, we are not solicitors' I should have hung up right then and there. But curiosity got the best of me. When someone finally came on the line, I was informed I had an outstanding debt from 1988! In my maiden name... I've been married for 14 years and the debt is over 20 years old!!! And I thought they were calling about a high school reunion or something like that... boy was I wrong!
Duh... that's 20 years old and I filed bankruptcy shortly after that. The college dropout went on to say that it doesn't matter... yada, yada, yada... 'I'm not harassing you' 'you're mad at the wrong person' I kept saying that this was 20years old, I filed bankruptcy, if this debt was mine, it would have been included in this judgment. They finally told me what the debt was and the amount... less than $700.00 --I said, 'you're harassing me for a loan that is 20 years old and less than $700.00???' I guess he got tired of me because he told me that he 'didn't have to put up with me' and transfered me to supervisor. Again, I should have hung up, but my pride got the better of me. I explained to her that 20+ years ago someone has stolen my SS# and this debt was 20 years old, I filed bankruptcy etc. Then SHE called me combative... yes after calling me and harassing me with a 20 year old debt that I'm not even sure is mine because someone stole my identity way back then, you can imagine I was a little upset. I was stupid... she confirmed my address so I expect that I'll be getting something in the mail from them... of course it will be in my maiden name and as far as I'm concerned my future answer will be, 'there is no one at this address/number by that name' I've already called my attorney and they are sending a letter stating that this is well past the statute of limitations (TN's statutes are 6 years-- I'd say over 3 times the statutes is well long enough!) Furthermore, I'd imagine that the phone company can be contacted if they continue calling and harassing me. I will also be looking at contacting my attorney general and the BBB. Doubt it will help, but this company is unethical and a bigtime SCAM ARTIST--they must be stopped!!!

Unsolicited phone calls
I have been getting calls from allied interstate and have just ignored the message assuming it was from a telemarketer. I actually listened to the message today and called the company back realizing it was for debt collection and i don't have any debt in collections. The gentleman on the phone asked if the number i was calling from was the same number i was contacted on to which i replied yes. He said the name of the account which was my friends dad and i explained that i had no idea how my number would be associated with any of their accts to please remove it and not call me again. I called my friend to notify her and she said her mom was getting harassing calls from allied interstate and they left a very vulgar message stating that they would call all of her neighbors. I am appalled that a company is doing that but is that even legal to do. She also confirmed that two other neighbors of ours also received the calls as well. What can we do about this. She saved the threatening voice mail and I saved mine regarding the call to call them back.

Harassment
If your calling someones house at least you can say what the nature or the call is. Maybe that might not be their (customer) telephone. You know people do use other peoples' phone, and if your not following the laws then how do you expect for people to pay their bills, see this is why the consumer doesn't care about paying bills anymore.
Some people don't want to be bothered by the same stupid a-- person that we just spoke with an hour ago. Stop harassing and just ease up on the calls. You call all day don't you get tired?

Terrible experience
I am complaining about a company that is called Allied Interstate. They call my house 4 or 5 times everyday for a month now. The person that they say owes them the money does not even have the same last name as us. I tried telling them that and they agreed to take my number off of their system but that was a week ago. When I called them today they told me I owe the money and to just pay up. I can not believe that a company can be so pathetic and still be in business. I have no idea on how to make them stop. Any suggestions?

Unsolicited phone calls
This company continues to call at all hours of the day, even though the law says they can not call on Sundays before 2pm they call from 8am until at least 8 pm. When I pick up they hang up. I called to get them to stop calling, spoke to a supervisor who said they would stop calling. I received another phone call within 30 mins. I spoke to a lead supervisor who explained to me that the company inputs the phone numbers into an automatic dialing database. I am going to pursue legal actions due to the fact that in a one week period, I had over 100 phone calls from them.

Awful company
I work for a small office as office manager. When answering the phone today, a recorded generic message (directed at no specific person) said to call Allied Interstate, a debt collector, at 866-898-3991 re: a debt. When I called them back, I was on hold listening to various recordings for about 12 minutes, then I got a message asking me to leave a message or continue to hold. When I selected the option for leaving a message, the voice mail was full and could not accept the message. Every avenue I tried was a dead end. I could not talk to a real person.
This office is not behind on any bills. This has taken up 30+ minutes of my valuable time this afternoon. My boss sometimes answers the phone and this type of call would be upsetting and alarming to him and would have him questioning my abilities at doing my job.
No representative of Allied Interstate has ever called our office. Their first and only contact (so far) was a recorded message demanding that we call them (never mentioning "we" by name so we don't even know that they have the right number). And then they are unreachable by phone making it impossible to clear this up.
This is an interruption in our business and somebody should put a stop to these ridiculous people, so they can't continue with this harassing behavior.

Harassment
This collection agency called my sisters house looking for me, without authorization to contact her. I don't appreciate it. You really shouldn't call others houses looking for individuals that don't live there. The person who called could hardly speak english and wouldn't give any information. My sister didn't know who it was or what the problem was. So therefore she would not give them any information. I feel it is unnecessary to call relatives to get information on an individual. And if your going to do so, have someone who speaks english. It is discouraging to people when they can not understand them.

Awful and unprofessional company
Allied Interstate (866-898-3991) call daily about a 'debt'. When I return the call, the voice mail box for 'Ebony' is full and unable to accept my message. I'm not familiar with any debt that may be assigned to a collection agency, but can't make contact with them to investigate. My credit rating is excellent. I don't understand the issue, but want the calls to stop.
Allied has not identified the 'debt' so I have no idea what the call is about. They have called each day for the past 7-8 days. The calls have been noted in our message machine at various times during the day, but usually only once per day. A very unprofessional company.
