Back in February 2009 my daughter and myself went into Alltel store to return a one year old phone that went dead, a nd wanted to purchase a new one, that was it!!! We had one more month on our previous contract, and had NO intentions of purchasing a new contract at that time. The salesperson I spoke with understood my problem, (keep in mind I only wanted a phone that worked and we did) Oh, and by the way we where paying for three cell phones at this time.To my own fault I washed one of the phones in the washing machine by accident, and am not using it enougoh to pay a $200.00 cancel fee. But still paying monthly on it.
Well when my husband (the person whom signed the original contract in March of 2007) went in the store on Thursday March 12, 2009, the store manager Mr. Charlie Marquez of the Goodyear store on Pebble Creek Parkway told us we had a new contract that was extended until 2011, and my husband was shocked to my dismay. On Friday March 13, 2009, my husband and myself entered the store, because I had more information regarding this particular event. Well after a very unsactory conversation with Charlie Marquez, of the Goodyear store, he said we had three opions to fix this problem, the option we chose was to return the phone in its original contents which was Alltel bag, box with phone and all manuals which came with it. Charlie Marquez the manager told all contracts would be canceled and NO $200.00 fee would be needed.
To continue this epic journey, once again my daughter and myself entered the Alltel store in Goodyear, on Saturday March 14, 2009, with the understanding of evaluating this elementary problem and returning her one month old phone. Well after returning the phone, Charlie Marquez, the manager told us we would still have to pay $200.00. By this point I was begining to feel as though my intellegents was being insulted, and everything and anything that was coming out of Charlie's mouth counterdicted anything and everthing he had been saying for the past three days.
The main purpose of this whole insident, was to cancel one phone and continue on with a new contract, possibly with Alltel, but because of this, we truely have no intentions of staying with Alltel and its not very intelligent employees, who don't understand "the customer is always right". This saga has many other fine points, but because of this, I feel fraudulent representation is the only course I can take.
A piece of advise, please teach and or train employees of the proper way to deal with the public, and know what they are selling, because it became very abvious to me, that the people we dealt with are a little more than ignorant, in dealing with this fine public, and the knowlege of cell phone policies. Please have them ready YOUR contract prior to highering them, and even a backround check would be to your best interest.
