I Hate Alpine Access June 9, 2011
Shady, mismanaged company
The communication breakdown started before I was even hired. I was promised a call back for an interview and never got it. Called them to schedule and finally got in touch with someone saying they'd get back to me the following week. I was hired and told I'd be given info on training within the next week. I was not contacted for nearly two weeks so I called them again. It seems they lost my background check info and when they found it they forgot to contact me about setting up a training schedule. (Keep in mind I had already spend over $100 on phone equipment since it had to be on my desk by the start of training.)

Training was done at my state's minimum wage and took over a month to complete. My trainer was competent but the systems we were to use and the information we were given was out of date not to mention the fact we were unable to train for billing which is what 90% of our calls were on. Once I started taking live calls the communication ceased almost entirely. I had 4 different bosses in 6 months and never knew who to report to and every time I had to report anything such as missed time worked (I shall get to the technical issues in more detail later) it needed to be reported in at least three different places, none of which were easy to find on their webpage. We were placed on the phones after 2 weeks of our month long training due to high call volume for a product launch with no way to handle the issues that came up.

If we were unable to work our shift due to a problem with one of the company's systems we were told we'd be paid but this turned out to be a flat out LIE because in reality all technical issues caused by Alpine's systems were unpaid and we were still expected to work on getting them resolved. I started my shift PROMPTLY at the assigned starting time, ended exactly at the ending time and took all of my breaks and lunch EXACTLY on time yet some how lost at least 10 minutes every day from my pay as even being gone one second past when you're supposed to be back docks you 2.5 minutes and to be honest, when I have to use the bathroom I can't always time it perfectly!

Finally the ultimate communications breakdown occurred just before the end of my employment. I had been promised a 1 on 1 coaching and improvement session before I completed training. Nearly 8 months later I had not received any 1 on 1 time with any of my 4 different bosses when I was finally called aside by my boss... to be informed my performance wasn't good enough so I was being let go. That's right, the first feedback I EVER received in 8 months on the job was a layoff notice. I was told I'd work two more weeks to see if I could find a job internally. The next time I tried to log in for work I was locked out of the company system. I reported this to tech support who said they'd work on it and that was the last I ever heard from this company.

hiring decisions
Ok here it is i am here to tell you i did the complte hiring proccess and they turned around after paying for all the equipment and adding a second line to work for this company, and told m i am not eligible like 7 days before i was supposed to start training. i am looking for more people with this same kind of issue with paying the 45.00 dollars for the background check and they got denied because maybe one peice of paperwork was missing. i am looking to create a class action lawsuit against the company but i am looking for other people with the same issue if this is the case please email me asap i need at least 100 + people my email is [email protected] just copy and paste this and i will get back to you woith what information i need before hiring a lawyer. and yes we will get a settlement because i have been readin and they have done it to alot of people

hired then let go
My grand daughter signed up, bought the required headsets and did the required background check etc. and went through the training course. She started the customer contact work and was doing a good job and enjoying it. After 4 weeks of training and 3 weeks of customer contact and while she was on the phone with a customer, she got an e-mail from Alpine Access that her services were no longer needed. No explanation of why she was 'fired' or any recourse avenues to find out why. So after spending around $100 for materials and background checks and only being paid minimum wage for 7 weeks, she is 'let go' without explanation. What a 'nice' company to work for.

scam you buy getting u to pay for credit report
Listen up people: If a job is legit they will not ask you to fork over $45.00 ahead of time to complete a background, credit, and drug test.
SCAM!!
They have a great presentation and set up but ultimately you fork over $45.00 and then you are told that you did not pass their check. What a rip off. Not to mention the millions they are making off of scamming people looking for honest work.
Why can't the Government stop this fraud on Americans?

So i get an email after the 3rd party withdrew the offer for employment for my credit not being good enough like i sadi after a worldwide international bank hired me: bank of america..with my "not good enough" credit for lil ol alpine access and it offers a job again...mind u i spent 20.00 n faxing all those papers they want u to sign..i couldve went to fed ex and spent 30.00 scanning and emailing too or jus brought a scanner..but ne who the email offers a job again requiring the same paperwork credit/background check again as if i just applied. i email them n say jus wntd to let u know about this email error as i was already told i would not b hired. i get this email today saying this:

They r official sales reps.. u know y bc how can ur credit change so fast? I used to work for bank of america credit cards n i've seen live credit card accounts. it takes time even if u pay it off for them to mk the changes and for ur score to sore bk up again. They want u to try again and get the 45.00 again which they say its a higher charge so theyre forwarding some of the charges to u..i have the email stating that. They r looking liek a very broke and desperate company as well as being no different than street hustlers and casino machines: try ur luck. bottom line is my credit is not good enough for them but good enough for a company 1 million times their size..if u ask me they r being a little too extra..it is not that serious. $9/hr? and this company is being picky?...ok

Just to let anyone no who may b considering working for alpine access its an investment. if u hav internet and home phone great. I didnt hav a usb headset so i had to buy one. I spent 20.00 on that radio shack brand the logitec was 40.00. Im on a budget and did not have all that much extra money to spare. I spent 47.00 and ordered a home phone online with a 2.5mm jack to connect the other headset that u need to take calls on. the other phone headset was under 15.00 from target. i paid 45.oo for a background and credit check. I drove my car which is on the verge of breaking down way across town to take the drug test. I had a feeeling my credit was going to be the reason why I wouldnt be hired but i tried it anyway. they start u up with a username and password and telling u ur schedule for training so u dont miss class if u pass drug test and credit check but if u dont pass u jus get an email from the 3rd party company they use to do the c.check and bckground check saying theyre withdrawing employment.

ok so i signed up for fri and sat off and was told n the intervied itd b sun and mon off. i said n a nice way i signd up for fri n sat. he, thas whats available. i sd almost sarcastically oh ok he sd theyre all taken. so i sd ok bc i needed a job n still do but happy i didnt get hired. he askd me if i was gona hav a hard time being avail for the holidays i sd no. i had the sprint collections which i thought it ws cust service it started saying collections when i logged n and saw the title of the job after the interview. u can use a laptop for that client but some like tech support for playstation i think or another game console company and a credit card company client they giv u work for u need a desk top with a lrge screen so if u dont hav it u hav to buy one or tk the positions requiring jus a laptop.

bottom line u need stuff and its an investment. the pay is soooooooooooooo low as well. n real call centers for the work they want u to do u get paid 12.00 and up 10 the lowest. the pro is ur home no commute. i heard about u cant jus go to the bathroom. i wonder if they hav what most call centers have: aftercall to note the account u were jus on for the customer and if u hav to go to the bathroom. i heard they get on u like white on rice thru these forums if u missed something even slightly. ok so i dont no bc i wasnt hired but this is the thing i doubt if by the time school started for me in january i woulda got a schedule change as i didnt c any part time n 1st shift is golden for if u have spent time there as an employee. maybe i would have idk. have good credit tho bc theyre company is not rich. i worked for bank of america just last year and my credits the same: not perfect they hired me. a large worldwide bank. this state wide company did not. y r they being so picky? im returning the headset and getting my 20.00 back. keeping the phone and headset bc i work at live ops where its ok about 14.00 for an hour worth of calls. sometimes its slow tho. it good side money an extra 50-70.00 every 2wks and im not even taking calls liek that so it could b more. i tk about 3hrs of calls /week. the sad part is that the interviewer saw my resume and at the end of the interview sd i knew i was gona hire u after i saw ur resume. well i hav lots of experience its their loss. i no he's tight lol bc he thought he'd hav a good rep on the phones. oh well they r being cheap so theyre losing out on workers and hav the nerve bc the turnover rate is high im sure.
