I booked a room at this establishment for Saturday February 13th for a 1 night stay, today February 12th 2010. I noticed that there was a 48 hour cancellation policy listed on the website. Unfortunately a financial emergency arose and I realized that I wouldn't be able to afford the trip. I tried to cancel the reservation 1 hour after it was placed on travelhero.com which is the website this hotel utilizes. Travelhero.com stated that the confirmation number would need to be obtained by the hotel since it was within the 48 hour cancellation. I called the hotel at 18007724422 and explained my situation. The manager who answered the phone and would not disclose his name said there was nothing he could do for me. I told him that I understood the policy but if he could make an exception due to the circumstances and since the reservation was placed today, 1 hour ago. The manager said sorry there is nothing I could do for you, I told him that travelhero.com stated to call and get the cancellation confirmation from him, he told me there was nothing he could do again. I asked is there nothing you could do? Or do you just not want to help me? He told me he did not want to help and then he hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to the owner, he said he owned it. I then asked for their corporate number, he responded that he owns it independantly and hung up on me once again. I checked my bank account and the trasaction for the room is already pending. For an entreprenuer to get into a business of customer service and satisfaction and completely disregard a customer in that manner is highly unacceptable. I have never posted a complaint about a company in my life. His noncholant attitude depicted a money hungry bookie that didn't care who suffered as long as he was paid. He could of easily made an exception and I would have booked a room at his establishment for a later date. Instead he chose this route and now I am here writing a complaint about him telling people to not provide him business. I may be completely in the wrong here, but I didn't call at the last minute of a reservation that was booked weeks in advance, I called within an hour of me reserving the room. It makes me really weary making reservations online from here on out. I think I may be better off finding a vacant hotel the day of and paying upfront. Only God knows if some unforseen circumstance may prevent you from abiding your contract, but yet these businesses continue to prey on the financially inept.
