This company took advantage of the fact that I didn't know my furance was 25+ years old and tried to repair it with new updated parts. In the end I was left with a outdated furance with new parts and a total of invoices with outrageous charges for a broken furance. After trying to negotiate with the company for a for a fair amount of payment they used a pervious invoice that had my checkcard information and signature for a $78.00 charge only to take money out of my personal checking with Bank of America account unauthorized. There transactions called my account to go into default and incurr over-draft charges.
There first attempt was made on 2/17 for $1100.00, which failed. So this company tried again on 2/17 making two seperate transactions for $250.00 and $ 500.00.
I filed a claim (# 2695-20-FEB-09) with Bank of America right away to report these unauthorized charges and to get my money back. After 6 months of providing statements from the vendor that installed my new furance, statements from myself denying the charges, providing a copy of the invoice I signed to approved a charge for $78.00 only with my signature, my claim was denied. Bank of America's claim's department on 7/20/09 informed me that this is a merchant issue and something I would have to resolve with them. They also stated that the company would not pay them the $750.00 back because they feel these charges were just that they can not give me my money back either.
Therefore, I am not statisfied with this resolution and plan on pressing charges against this merchant and Bank of America for letting these charges go through.
