Choice of Shipper
My first lousy experience with Amazon's "free" shipping. If this is free, I'd rather pay.
Ordered a $2, 000.00 lcd. It went down in price $100.00 the next day BUT Amazon doesn't allow for any adjustment once they've accepted the order. Not the best customer relations policy. Many stores offer price protection for up to 30 days. Anyway, 2K tv was ordered on 4/28. They shipped from Indianapolis on 4/29 - so far, so good. CEVA "trucking" shows a tracking system worthy of the federal government in its inaccuracies, confusion and lack of organization. According to this "tracking" system. The item arrived in Cleveland (60miles north of me) on the morning of the 30th. It sat in Cleveland the entire day of the 30th, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd!!! Even though CEVA's site indicated it was in transit to me and would be delivered on 5/3!!! I sent them an email on the 30th indicating they could deliver on the 3rd of May; which their "tracking" system indicated they intended to do. Well, waited ALL DAY, A WASTED DAY, with no delivery. Finally, after 5 PM on May 3rd - an email reply telling me to contact them if they haven't already contacted me. I called and was informed it couldn't be delivered until May 4th. It seems no one works at this company on weekends aside from the drivers. The merchandise SAT, SAT, SAT in a warehouse for three days, now four days. Yes, the shipping was free but I pay $70 plus bucks for prime membership. It did me no good here; and for the most expensive item I've purchased, ever, from Amazon. This CEVA company needs to sit at the feet of UPS and learn how to handle a shipment and an intelligent tracking system; Amazon needs to be more efficient in WHOM they choose to ship with. Very, very disappointed in this situation. This is the third problem I've had with Amazon; the previous two with merchants selling under the Amazon banner; but that's another horror story or two. Suffice it to say, both companies are/were slow to respond to a return request and oblivious (intentionally) of what customer service means... I still have no satisfaction from either of them.
This is an unfortunate situation since I have bought a considerable amount of items from Amazon in the past two years. What good is it and where's the logic if a dvd can be delivered in 2 days but a Mickey Mouse shipping company is chosen to handle a 2K purchase???

Email and password theft
Someone stole my Amazon user and password, and was able to change today both my password and email address on this site.
After this change done by a thief, Amazon sent to me an email saying that both information were changed ... and if that was not from my request, to reply to their email.
Replying to this email went into a mailbox that does not accept incoming mails !
Once contacted by phone, the company was only able to tell me that they were transferring my complaint to another department which would call me back within 24 hours !
I am still waiting for this call.
I had to call the credit cards companies that I thought could have been registered under this Amazon account, to cancel these cards.
The hacker had already used one of my credit cards on Amazon, and I am now receiving emails from Amazon saying that my "Transaction has failed" ... this is strange since my email address on Amazon was supposed to be changed by the thief.
My computer does not seem to have been hacked, no spyware nor virus found here ... thus I have the impression that Amazon was attacked and my account information was stolen there. Some real feedback from Amazon would clarify.
I will probably never use this website anymore.

Severe Cyber-bullying
I had made a purchase at Amazon in August 09. When I received the package, I found it was broken. On 10 Sep 09, I sent an email to its customer service and the link to packaging service provided on the website. The latter has never replied my email. But customer service staff immediately promised to send me a replacement. I believed that this was quickly solved and went on making another purchase at Amazon subsequently.
The replacement had never arrived. On 25 Nov 09, I sent another email to customer service staff and they promised to send the replacement again and asked me to wait till 31 Dec 09. Again, the replacement had never arrived.
Having seen people from other fourm suggesting to write the complaint in the Amazon forum, I followed the advice as this worked for them and might work for me too.
After posting my complaints, I did immediately get contracted by Amazon staff. So as countless and abusive cyber-bullying by multi-role playing accounts.
To my surprise, these multi-role playing even disclosed some private conversation I had with Amazon staff which I have NEVER disclose in this forum. These accounts would post more than 60 abusive messages to me on a given day.
These accounts were not only doing this to me, but also other customers who made a complaint about Amazon in the forum. These multi-role playing accounts would belittle customers in different ways:
- asking customers to 'buy a brain from Amazon'
- accusing customers of making a fraudulent payment with their credit card
- calling customers names - e.g. dummy, complaint professional, crazy, smoking pot...
Here is a post I found from consumeraffairs.com which is related to the above cyber-bullying incident.

This may be frivolous, I won't know until I inquire. It concerns the discussion forum at Amazon, not the business end of things. One mysterious person has been creating many accounts in order to anonymously stalk, harass, insult and slander participants. He also steals identities (including real names) in order to impersonate them. Initially Amazon did little to nothing, and recently has been deleting post in which one complains about the harassment (with proof of the multiple accounts and identity theft). It is possible but not certain that the harassing poster is an amazon employee. In either case, can anything be done, legally and otherwise?
If you are a customer going to make a complaint about Amazon purchase in the Amazon forum, you will have to be prepared yourself for non-stop cyber-bullying.

Bait & Switch
On or about 12/23/2009 I ordered a laptop stand from Amazon for my recently purchased laptop from Amazon. The stand $19.99 with shipping listed on the "One click ordering" as $7.99. The supplier for the stand is Accessory Genie that charged me $19.99 for the stand, but $24.99 for shipping and handling.
My reason for using the "One click" button is to simplify my involvement to purchase an online item since I am retired with no auto for transportation.
The emails received from Amazon to address this problem makes me feel that I am being "Talked down to". I have notified the Federal Trade Commission and will notify others that this descrepancy smells like a "Bait & Switch" for enriching Amazon and Accessory Genie.

Multiple vendors for one order
Since Amazon is a selling agent for many third party vendors, it seems they like to “spread the wealth” at the cost of the customer. They obviously do not have the standard online policy of only charging your credit card when the item is shipped.
I placed an order with Amazon for a canon printer and 2 sets of additional Canon ink cartridges. The price for the printer was quite low. Amazon charged my credit card for all three items then placed the orders with three different vendors. The printer was placed with Adorama, who was out of stock. They told me they did not expect inventory for 4-5 weeks. This means Amazon, or Adorama, would have been using my money for this period. Meanwhile, one of the ink vendors had shipped. I cancelled the printer order and ultimately received a credit. I tried to cancel the second ink order but could not and it had not been shipped. Now I have plenty of Canon ink but no printer. Amazon customer service responded right away but the fact remains they chose to split the order and never checked inventory. Over a week later this is not fully resolved, but I am the one who has to do all the work even though the error was theirs. The first thing I did was file a complaint with the credit card company.
About 2 months ago I placed an order with Amazon for 2 different size kitchen knives from the same manufacturer. These are expensive knives. It was well stated this was not shipped by Amazon and there was no free shipping. With their “Spread The Wealth” policy, they gave the order to two different vendors which means I paid double shipping. Checking after the fact, each of the vendors had both sizes in stock.
In all the years I have bought from Amazon I have never run into this type of behavior.

Suspended, Reactivated, and now Closed Pro-Merchant Account
Greetings everyone,
As a company operating out to the state of Florida we have had the opportunity to deal with many eCommerce sites such as Amazon, eBay, OverStock, etc. In fact, we have sold with Amazon for about six months now. Over that time, Amazon has suspended our account twice. They reactivated our account after an initial 30 review while holding over $1000 of our funds. After the release naturally we became excited and relisted a lot of our products. Much to our dismay, after just 5 days of selling we received the dreaded suspension letter AGAIN and our account was put on hold, only this time with roughly $5000. As we did nothing wrong other than offer consumers products at GREAT prices, which usually ship the same day, Amazon said our volume of sales was not justified. What really gets us... is we had to go through all the same processes as previously (send us your suppliers, company information, websites, so forth and so on...), which we might add was sent when we went through this the first time in July that our account was suspended. We called several times and got the same BS story seller performance does not have anyone to talk to. Okay then, Amazon with their extensive operations worldwide does not have anyone in seller performance to talk to??? Are you kidding me, well then put me on the phone with your automated server that sends out these emails and supposedly reviews our accounts. As Amazon has now held our funds twice “released once after 30 days” now it has been 30 days again and we just received this letter, “Hello from Amazon.com.
Thank you for writing. After a review of your account by an account specialist, we have decided your account will remain blocked.
We regret we are unable to provide further information on this situation. Further correspondence regarding the closure of your selling account will not be answered.
The closure of this account is a permanent action. Any subsequent accounts that are opened will be closed as well.
Best regards,
Amazon Seller Performance Team”
Let us remind you now that they claim that they are now going to hold our money for an additional 90 days!!! Well, as a doctoral student and a driven business professional, I will not let this case go, even if they release our funds. Why? Well, simply someone has to do something to start the revolution =) Join our fight in a class action lawsuit---Seven Times Seven on Twitter

For the last five (5) months we have been selling our inventory thru AMAZON.COM about 7k $7000 thousand dollars amazon keeps on putting our money on reserve it's been more than 60 days and still haven t been able to collect. If you decide t sell inventory in a larger scale DO NOT USE AMAZON.COM they play/ use your money and you wont see a peny after 60, 90 days if your lucky.
