Stealing
I sold 2 items at the end of June one was a high dollar Camcorder. I have sold things in the past on amazon but never something this high dollar. They usually put the money in my bank account the next week. But this time it has been 3 months and I have still not been paid for my camcorder and the smaller item. The camcorder was send with delivery confirmation and insurance. The woman received it and left positive feedback saying it works great. I don't see why they are keeping this money. After calling them they said its not our department you have to email this , then each time they give me a different email. Ive emailed them all at least 10 times with a response only to 2 of them saying we cant do anything basically. When calling they tell me the same stuff, so I ask to speak to a supervisor some tell me hes not in and they have even told me NO he cant do anything for you. They have also banned my account, I guess trying to make it hard to prove that I sold it on there, but I have the records printed out. I turned them into BBB which doesn't do anything since they have over 500 pending cases anyway. I will also be turning them into department of justice. So I would not sell a high dollar item on there, they might just try to keep your money like they did me. Sorry if their are mistakes I typed it kinda fast.

Don't believe what their customer service said!
On July 17th, my sisters bought a baby crib from Amazon.com for my very first baby. My husband and I were so excited when we saw the two boxes arrived at our front door. After my husband trying to put the crib together, we realized the crib was too big for the space. We put the crib back to the boxes and I tried to return the crib using the online forms. However, the forms did not work online, so I called the customer service. The agent told me the return was already in the system, and UPS would come and pick the boxes up within 5 days. Once the product is returned, I will get a gift certificate via e-mail within 3 business days.
After waiting for a week, the boxes were still downstairs of our condo. I called again, and I was told the return was never in the system. So this time, the agent promised me she has put a request through UPS. One week later, UPS came, but they only had one label. They could not pick up TWO boxes with ONE label!!
I had to call again to ask another agent to send one more label, and about five days later, the second box was finally taken by UPS. One week after both boxes were taken by UPS, I still did not get any gift certificate via e-mails, so I called again. I was told the product was delivered to the wrong place!
This time, I was promised that I would get my gift certificate by Tuesday, 9/4/2007. I also e-mailed my thoughts to your customer service, and I was told to wait until 9/5/2007 which is today. Here is quoted from one of their agents:
"I have reviewed our previous correspondence and thoroughly researched your order and see that we have received your return. In addition to the transit time, it typically takes us 3 to 5 business days to process returned packages after we receive them. After the return has been processed, you'll receive an e-mail confirming your refund.
I also see that my colleague, Mahender, is personally following on this return and asked you to wait until September 5, 2007 for your return has been processed. If your refund (in Gift certificates) has not been submitted, he would personally complete this refund on September 5, 2007.
I appreciate your patience while we work on this issue and I apologize for any inconvenience." I did not have any hope that I would get the certificate on 9/5/2007, and I was right. I called again, and I was told the return was not sent to the gift certificate department. The agent I talked to told me my return is sent to the right department and I should receive my certificate with 3 days. He was also the only one to offer me $30 promotional certificate because of what I have been through. However, the certificate did not really work... What a surprise!
This whole experience has caused me time, made me frustrated, upset and angry. It is absolutely disappointing that AMAZON.COM would treat their customers this way. Every time I sent an e-mail to your customer service, I got the same response. "Please be patient and wait while we work this out."
I just want people to be aware when you want to return something to Amazon.com, it can be the most frustrating experience ever.

Unauthorized book offering and offering to print to order!
I am the author, publisher and copyright holder who is the sole seller of the book "Bob Nolan: A Biography and Annotations..." Today I found the book listed on Amazon with a click through connection to a print on demand service.
They have no right to offer the book for sale unless it has been obtained from a previous registered owner. They have no authority to offer print on demand or advertise by posting on their site an item they do not have rights to. All rights are reserved and it is so stated in the book.
I am the only one authorized to print and distribute this volume and any other service offered is intent to piracy of a copyright work.

False advertising
Amazon advertised a cordless phone as NEW. It appeared it the cart with REFURB inserted in the product model number. (It did not say Refurbished anyplace else, it could easily have been overlooked). I phoned customer service, who "absolutely assured" it was new. In fact it is shipped directly from Panasonic. I ordered it, then called Panasonic. It is a 2005 model they no longer sell, so it would not be in their warehouse. It could only be coming from a Panasonic refurbish unit or another refurbish unit. Amazon sent me an auto-generated email asking if I'd been satisfied with customer service. I clicked NO, and a representative phoned me. He said the listing had been changed to "refurbished". I checked and it hadn't. He then said that REFURBISHED IS THE SAME AS NEW. He held to that position. I'd not trust "New" on Amazon.

Lousy service
I placed an order with Amazon.com on May 24th. My estimated delivery dates were May 30 to June 1st. I was also given a tracking number.
When my items did not arrive by June 1st, I went into my email and tried to use the tracking number that Amazon.com gave me. Well packages sent by USPS cannot be tracked, so why do I have a tracking number?
I called Amazon.com and spoke with a representative who was absolutely NO help what so ever. It was a waste of time. He did know how to give excuses.
Here is what Amazon had to say:
It's been our experience that the majority of late packages arrive just a day or two after the estimated delivery date. Therefore, we would like to ask that you wait until close of business on June 6, 2007 for this shipment to arrive.
I guess Amazon.com can't count either.
This is the second order in a row to be arriving late. My last order took a detour and was headed in the wrong direction. I called Amazon.com and they did not care. I guess they didn't think I knew where I lived. I kept trying to tell them that my order was going way off course, but they did nothing to correct the problem.
I finally emailed UPS and informed them that my package was headed in the wrong direction. Surprisingly, UPS admitted they made a big mistake and corrected the situation and got my package to me in record time. If they hadn't listened, I don't know where my order would have ended up.
I was very disappointed in Amazon.com for not doing anything to correct the problem. All they cared about was the fact that they had gotten their money.
I am now done with Amazon.com. Their prices on some things may be cheaper, but it isn't worth the lousy customer service and aggravation.

Certegy payment recovery
I had been a loyal Amazon.com customer for 5 years. I placed, on average, one order per month in various amounts. In my 5 years of dealing with Amazon I never had a problem with them.
On May 18th I ordered something from Amazon for my laptop computer. My order was processed and I received the item on May 22, 2007. A few days later I receive a letter, dated May 24th, from a collection agency named Certegy Payment Recovery. They also called my office with an automated dunning message.
Apparently my credit card had expired and I had not updated the information. No one from Amazon ever called me, sent me an e-mail or a letter or made any attempt to resolve this issue before handing me over to a collection agency. A simple e-mail or notification that there was a problem with my payment, and I would have taken care of it immediately. Instead my credit rating and my good name is placed in jeopardy by a bunch of thoughtless, di**less as**ole who can not give a slight courtesy to a long term customer.
I called Certegy and they told me that they had no information apart from a referral from Amazon of my case. I called Amazon and they told me to call Certegy. I wrote an e-mail to Amazon customer service 2 days ago and the scrotumless immigrants working in Amazon's customer service have not even given me the courtesy of a reply.
I canceled my Amazon account and I will never use their service again. They will get their payment when I am good and ready to send it. I will show them the same courtesy that they have shown to me.
F@#! You Amazon.com!

No merchandise, no refund, 3rd pty seller pressure to alter feedback to "earn" refund approval!
Ordered a used book 4/20. Amazon had set my account for instant purchase without my knowledge so could not check out seller before order was "grabbed" by Amazon online. Book did not arrive by latest due date of 5/14. Had to wait three days to file for refund with Amazon. Seller did not insure or use tracking number for this used book. Seller is refusing to approve refund to Amazon unless I upgrade the poor feedback I gave online. Why isn't Amazon doing the refund per their A-Z guarantee. How can a seller get away with this. It is now 5/22/07 and book is not here and charge has been on my credit card since 4/20. I have tried to reach a person and Amazon's gatekeepers are 100% effective in keeping me from reaching them except via email using THEIR form or THEIR voice mail so there is no audit trail of my inputs to them except my email. They send "no reply" emails that require buyer to go online to fill it out. Only option is to cut and paste into my own document. BAD BAD BAD. No book & no refund and hours of time and dozens of emails. I filed an online complaint today with the Seattle BBB. I hope something will get me this refund and stop this poor practice.

Took money, didn't send product!
On Dec. 5, 2006 I purchased a magazine subscription through Amazon.com. As of March 8, I still have not received a magazine. I contacted Amazon and they told me to contact the publisher. I have done that, several times only to discover that Amazon did not complete the transaction with the magazine publisher. They never paid the subscription. Amazon took my money, charged on my card on Dec. 5, but never paid it to the magazine. I have contacted Amazon's "customer service" many, many times and I'm always told the same thing: "it's not our problem". It is their problem because they took the money and didn't do anything else.
Amazon doesn't have "customer service" they have "customer prevention". If they want to get rid of paying customers they are doing a good job of it.

Amazon placed my account with debt collection agency
My boyfriend used my account (with my permission) and ordered a pack of CDs from a buyer through Amazon.com. We got the CDs just fine, the seller got his payment, and everything was hunky-dory.
Then, a couple of weeks later, I started getting these calls from this debt-collection agency, but they wouldn't tell me what it was about because they were using my boyfriend's name, since he placed the order. I got my boyfriend to call them back and we found out that an amount of $27.24, the exact amount of my boyfriend's CD purchase, had been placed with a collection agency in Alabama.
They could not tell us anything more than the amount owed and how to pay it (a lot about how to pay it). We told them that we did not owe the money because all my records showed that the guy got his payment (and we got the CDs). The agency told us that they didn't know anything about it. They didn't even know it was Amazon. They just knew they were supposed to get money from us.
We hung up and called Amazon. Of course, we all know that Amazon does not post its number on its site, for whatever reason so we had to google up a number. Amazon told us that everything was fine in their systems, too, just like my records showed. We told them we thought so, but this agency won't leave us alone (they called me about 5 times a day for almost two weeks - from 7:30 am to 9 pm and would not tell me why!).
Bottom line is, this collection agency has my name (though they have stopped calling) and amazon will not tell them that I don't owe them anything. I don't know how to get the two companies to talk to each other. We gave the agency Amazon's number, but they said they will not call amazon to verify that my account is fine. I don't even know how the agency got the number, unless amazon gave it to them, which they said they didn't!
So, I'm totally confused and I don't really trust Amazon very much anymore. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Shoddiest service I have received in my life! No refund received!
On December 21, 2006, I ordered some jewelry from AlleFineJewelry.com via Amazon. They said it needed to be appraised so it would not arrive in time for Christmas. On December 29, 2006, it still had not come. I canceled the order with Alle Fine Jewelry on December 29, 2006 because they emailed me and told me it would not be shipped until Jan. 08, 2007 and did I want to cancel? I answered that I did want to cancel and I asked for a refund. On January 4, 2007, Alle Fine Jewelry emailed me and said they were over-nighting half of my order. I emailed back and asked them why they would send it since I had canceled the order on December 29, 2006. They sent me half of the order. When the package came, I returned to sender and I never opened the package. Then I asked them to please refund my money where they had charged my credit card on December 21, 2006 in the amount of $1938.00.
They received the merchandise back on January 10, 2007 according to FedEx and I have the receptionist's signature on file. I have been asking and asking for my refund daily from Alle Fine Jewelry via Amazon only to be met with, "we are still examining the jewelry you returned." Mind you, they only sent half of the order, but they said they are also examining the one they never sent. That is rather curious to examine one that they never sent.
The person I have been dealing with at Amazon.com is Peg Anderson and she has not been helpful at all, but in fact, now my Amazon.com account has been blocked, which is rather curious since I have purchased hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from them since 2000, yet, no refund from them still.
As of January 27, 2006 and they still are "examining" the jewelry I returned unopened which I had canceled before they sent it and they still have not given me my refund in the amount of $1938.00 nor a date when I can expect it.
Peg Anderson of Amazon.com was my inspiration for filing this complaint. If you have a complaint about Amazon.com, you can email their Executive Customer Relations Department at [email protected], but don't expect any satisfaction.
Since Amazon.com removes customer reviews and discussions that do not suit their purpose, please beware of their customer reviews on their site. They in fact, did remove my review of the above mentioned merchant, which shows they do not want customers forewarned about bad merchants and that you cannot trust their reviews.
I won't use them again and I am warning everyone I know and even strangers, about them. This is the shoddiest service I have received in my life. I will post this on every complaint forum I can find.
