If you are buying a cellphone from amazon.com, just make sure they do activate your phone
If you are buying a cellphone from amazon.com... just make sure they do activate your phone... else you will be ending up suffering like me... i bought a cell phone from amazon.com... they forgot to log the IMEI of my cellphone then they mailed asking for it... once i received the phone i mailed them that and also called the customer service and gave them that... they said it will take 24 - 48 hrs to get it activated i patiently waited for them... next day i received another email asking for the IMEI number again... i was so frustrated... And they also gave me a 5$ promotional certificate for their mistake which i really don't want to have it... because it make me look like a beggar... anyway hope no one else gets in same situation as me... :-(

It took 2 weeks longer to get my money back
I ordered a pair of shoes from an outside vendor on Amazon. On Amazon they listed the item as in stock and will ship in three to four business days. I was charged and send a note saying my order was being processed. a full WEEK later I recveived another notice saying the item was no longer in stock and I would receive a refund. It took TWO WEEKS longer to get my money back. I don't know who to blame, Amazon or the vendor? Who's in charge of the way things get listed on the site? Amazon or the vendor?

Bad Service
am frustrated my Amazon due to series of incidents.
When my order did not arrrived, they asked me to check with the local post office. When i went there and spend an hour in the queue, the post office officer told me that they could not locate my package without an article number.
I wrote to them to ask for the package's articles numberand they manage to give me back however they alaso told me that it was not possible to trace my package in the local post office. See how frustrated I am, when they led me in acircle. I just wish they know the right advice to give their customer and not trying to be such an smart Alex.
When I asked them to resend the order, they told me they would charge me again before another refund. I need time to settle my account, and the customer officer gave me another two more days to process my payment again. Before, the two days was up they already cancelled my order and I have to reorder again at a different pricing.
To compesate for that, they promised me an upgrade to my shipment and I will be refunded later however when I was reodering the items, that shinping option was not available for me.
And I am really frustrated with Amazon services, I think I will get phobia and anxiety if i have to order any items from amazon again.. Anyway those items are meant for my wrk purposes and I really have no choice except to get it from them. My work project had to be delayed because of that freaking shipment..I really think they have a bad customer service, shame on them, they cannot diliver what they have promised to the customers...

Bad service
The book "Gainsborough's Vision" was ordered and paid for, from Amazon.com books'department. They emailed stating book had been shipped on March 17, 2010. It was not received by delivery estimate of April 28, 2010, and has not been received. Several emails were sent by me with full details to Amazon.com Customers, but they simply do not answer and appear to have kept the money. This book is badly needed for academic research & art project.

Stuff not always legal
Amazon.com displays and holds out a magazine for sale called "Just Bloomed" containing drawings by Boris Lopez of what appear to be nude and partially nude young girls. My client just got a 20 year prison sentence and must register as a sexual offender for the rest of his life, and that magazine was one of the collective exhibits introduced as evidence at his jury trial held April 28 through April 30, 2010 in Benton, Marshall County, KY. The case is Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Michael C. Dumas, he will be sentenced on May 17, 2010 and we plan to appeal. But my concern here is how is it Amazon.com is allowed to make money by selling that magazine to Kentucky residents but Kentucky residents go to prison and have register as a sex offender for having that magazine in their house yet Amazon.com apparently pays no consequence for it at all? Apparently that magazine is not legal in the state of Kentucky. Why isn't there any warning about that on the Amazon. com page where the magazine is displayed? I have written a complaint to Amazon.com about it, and to the Kentucky Attorney General's office which is the very same office that prosecuted my client for having that magazine in the first place. They didn't care that it can be obtained from Amazon.com and neither did the jury or the judge, my client has to serve a long prison sentence. I asked their expert witness from the United States Secret Service how people are suppose to know that what they are getting on the internet is illegal in Kentucky and he didn't have an answer to that question and the jury convicted anyway. Amazon.com should not walk away scott free and continue to make money from selling "Just Bloomed" magazines on its site to Kentucky residents, getting away with it just because it is a big outfit doing business on the internet while my client rots in a prison cell for having it in his home along with other images on his computers. There is something wrong with that picture especially when Amazon.com could probably afford a staff of people to determine whether products it sells are legal or illegal in certain states. It does't seem fair especially when the magazine and others like it that it sells on its site (scroll down to the bottom of the Amazon.com page that has the "Just Bloomed" magazine for sale, you will see several more like it) constitute "Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a Minor" in Kentucky then it seems to me that whoever is making decisions what items to hold out for sale at Amazon.com should be charged with "Distributing Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a Minor", a class D felony, every time it sells a "Just Bloomed" magazine and magazines like it to a Kentucky resident, especially where there is not a conspicuous warning to consumers that buying that possessing or distributing that item in Kentucky may result in criminal prosecution, a prison sentence and mandatory sexual offender treatment and registration. Sounds like a bitter pill to swallow but I know for a fact my client is sitting in a jail cell right as I write this having to swallow it and on his behalf I know I can say if you live in Kentucky DO NOT buy "Just Bloomed" Magazine containing drawings by Boris Lopez because you will surely get convicted of a felony and go to prison for it in Kentucky.

blocking seller account forever
I had been a seller on Amazon.com for many years. I only had few complains but Amazon.com bolcked my account forever. They never give sellers a second chance. They act like spy: if they find any related account they will block it forever!

Be careful buying from them
I bought a satellite antenna from Amazon.com (sold by igotyourneeds) for $495 at the end of Feb., 2010. when I received the package, I immediately become suspicious of the package which looked like it was tempered. I tried to return it to Amazon.com and igotyourneeds within a week of the purchase but was ignored by Amazon.com and igotyourneeds. Then I tried to use it and it failed to work. The factory technician has identified the unit as a defect unit. I had to spent $42 to send the unit for fixing.
It has been two months since I paid for the unit and I am still waiting the antenna to be sent to me.
Just be careful buying from Amazon.com now because it has become a flea market.

customer service
I became so fed up with Amazon's comically pathetic customer service that I some years ago started a twitter account solely to inform as many millions of people that I could about this preposterous company's pathetic customer communication responses. This all began when I was literally signed up for and billed for the company's one-click purchasing system without my knowledge and consent. It was impossible to get anyone on the telephone and complaints by email were responded to with "canned responses" that provided non-answers to questions that I had not asked. When I used emphatic and angry language in replying to the fourth canned response I finally got someone on the telephone that literally had no ability to do anything other than type in keywords I spoke into his computer and rotely recite what his computer told him to say -- similar non-answers, it was like talking to a malfunctioning robot. The operator's incompetence -- or more accurately Amazon's systemic decision to put de minimis resources into customer service -- was so unbelievable I didn't know whether to curse, cry, or laugh. I was able to resist my strong temptation not to do the former, since I try to keep in mind that the person on the end of the phone is as much a victim of Jeff Bezos's corporate cruelty and indifference as are the customers of this pathetic company. I am happy to say that so far I have received over 100 responses from persons with similar experiences, most of whom have agreed to boycott the company and more importantly to spread the word and exponentially increase the population of those who have committed themselves to using every interpersonal interation and internet forum and opportunity to encourage that everyone with earshot and e-shot not only boycott Amazon but return any already purchased items they can return within the compnay's return policy parameters. It is our stated goal to continue indefinitely with our so far amazingly successful efforts, all conducted within the bounds of civil law regarding interference with business relationships, to decrease the revenue of this company from customers within the Seattle area and beyond and hopefully have a dramatic negative effect on the compnay's profits. With the ease of twitter and other electronic communications, and -- ironically - the use of one-key-touch twitters, instant messages, and the like, to maintain this effort for decades until Amazon dies a whimpering death on the ash heap of history.

Poor service
So here is what Amazon taught me as a seller.
1. Buy an expensive item from a seller on Amazon and set shipping as standard-- avoid tracking or any of that.
2. Receive your item and enjoy! Free gift!
3. When the date that the item was "due" to arrive, log on to Amazon.com.
4. Write a complaint because, "you did not 'receive' the item."
5. Enjoy your refund!
It does not matter if the seller has a receipt from the post office proving the shipment. Heck, the seller could have videos of him or her sending the item(s). The seller has to prove that you, the purchaser, actually received the item!
Enjoy your free gift and extra money! Give it to them sellers!
By the way, I am an honest person and I would not do this. However, this is the TRUTH about Amazon and their "policies."
