Another case of fraud: Again billing to your home phone number, no verification needed just your name, addy, and phone number. Pick up any phone book and you have it...
This one was a "888" number where a person could have friends and family dial in and they had a password to pick up messages for free to them, but not to me!!!
I found over the last year, I had egreetings, on line trainers, movies, you name it all being charged to my phone bill with fake email addresses... Why you wonder didn't I notice this??? My Daddy was so sick, that I just went online to pay my phone bill. I noticed an increase but thought it was my Dish Network upping the fee (6 month promotional package expiring)..
I am no idiot, but how many people are having this crap done to them??? You call the number that shows up on your phone bill and it's some billing place, you have to badger them to tell you who they are billing your phone number. They have bogus email addresses, bogus D.O.B. on you, bogus Mother's Maiden names, etc... They don't contact you to insure you have ordered these services, they just go right ahead and bill you - guess the trick is to figure this out...
I read where some older gentleman who was deaf, but had a phone so if family could call out if needed was taken for a ride by these companies!!! That is straight up elderly abuse, and nothing is being done???
Why need a credit card when all you have to do is charge it to someone's phone bill????????????????
Unreal!!!
