I wish to inform you about a company called America’s Best Barbecue ( www.americasbestbbq.com) that consumers should avoid doing business with. There is a previous complaint that was posted in October 2005, and my experience has been almost exactly the same as the previous person has described.
On January 12, 2006, I placed an order with this company for a Weber Grill and cover. The company debitted my credit card immediately, even though the product had not shipped yet. The company's website advertized that shipping would take 2 - 4 weeks. The product was not delivered in the specified time and after 4 weeks, I began calling and sending emails to the company to find out the status of the shipment. Each time I had to call and send email multiple times before getting a response. When I was eventually contacted back, I was told that the order would ship out in the next week. After 9 weeks of waiting, I was able to get hold of the company and cancel the order. The company did not ever contact me to let me know that there was a delay in shipping, or to tell me that I had an option to cancel the order. Per the Mail or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, the company is required to give me a prompt and full refund of the purchase price paid.
It is now more than 11 weeks since I placed the order. I do not have the product and I have not received a refund from the company either. I have again made repeated calls (left messages on an answering machine) and sent repeated emails (all of which remain unanswered).
