American Credit Services-The Crime Division Reviews

Federal Charges
Oh my goodness, after reading everyone else's complaints, it is like reliving my own experience over and over. I received my first call this past Thursday night. A woman left a message. This woman was extremely hard to understand. There was noise in the background, it almost sounded like an airport or bus terminal. I tried to call this number back and was informed by recording that the Verizon number was not a working number. This number rings out of Sarasota, Florida. I disregarded this call as I could not understand what the woman was saying. Yesterday I received another phone call. This one was the same woman. Again she left a message. I called and listened to the message. It was the exact same background noise. She informed me that I or my attorney needed to call them immediately and that the matter was time sensitive. She ended her message by saying that if I nor my attorney called them then the only thing that she could do was wish me good-luck. This got me thinking and I called the number that she left which was 310-362-9387. This number rang into Beverly Hills California. I give them my phone number so they can pull my information. Let me stop and mention, that there was the same background noise and the same very strong accents. It was hard to understand. I am then transferred to another man. I did not understand his name. He starts out by informing me that I have three federal charges pending against me: collateral check fraud, deception by something or other and some other charge. I then told him to hang on that I was going to record this conversation, and I did. He then tells me they have my email address, which they did, and my social security number. He began reading my social security number and was kind of shocked. It was so super close. But not quite there. I told him that was not my number. He repeated the number. I told him again that was not my number. He then asked me if I was sure that was not my social security number. I told him that I of all people would know my social security number and that it was wrong, but I was not giving it to him. He then informs me that I am okay because it goes only by social security number and hung up on me. We listened to the recording and you can hear people in the background running through the same spill to other people. I have this conversation saved as well as the voice mails. I also followed that phone call up with a visit to www.bbb.org and a phone call to the Better Business Bureau as well. They give me the number for the Identity Theft Hotline at the FTC and told me to get a copy of my credit report. I got the copies of the credit reports and verified that nothing was suspicious on that. I then called the Identity Theft Hotline. I spoke to someone at the Federal Trade Commission and they took down all of the information. They told me that I probably should be a fraud alert on my credit which I did. I thought this was all over at this. I get another phone call this morning from the 941-961-8518 number. It is the same woman that called and left the voice mails. I was ready for her this time. I answered the phone abruptly. She started and I quickly stopped her. She said there were charges against me and I told her that there was not and that I had already filed complaints against them with the BBB and the FTC and that I had blocks on my credit. I told her that I had already talked to a representative from her company and she said that I had not. I said yes I called back. She kept asking who I spoke to and I told her I did not know. She told me to hold on and I told her no I was not holding and hung up. About a minute later, the phone rang again..same number...different voice. This was a man that introduced himself as being with a law firm and I could not understand the names he rattled off. I informed him that this was not the same name they were using yesterday. I also informed him of the reports that I had filed, informed him that I had recorded conversations and that I would file even more complaints and if he called me back again, it would be me that was notifying the FBI. He hung up on me. I was shocked to actually find all of these complaints because I was afraid that I was the only one that this was happening to.
