Difetto di fabbricazione non gestito
Possiedo un carta American Express dal 2005 e fino ad oggi non ho avuto problemi.
Qualche settimana fa American Express Italia mi ha mandato un carta di credito per sostituire quella in mio possesso, in scadenza nel 2012 e perfettamente funzionante.
Ho attivato la nuova carta, in scadenza nel 2015, e distrutto la vecchia.
Dopo qualche giorno, ho tentato di effettuare un acquisto tramite Internet. L’acquisto non è andato a buon fine perché la mia carta aveva un problema.
Ho chiamato il servizio clienti American Express, allo 06 7224306, per avere una spiegazione e solo allora mi è stato comunicato che il mio codice di sicurezza era difettoso.
Il difetto non permetteva acquisti su Internet e la carta doveva essere sostituita.
Sempre il Servizio Clienti ha aggiunto che molte carte American Express in Italia stavano riscontrando questa anomalia, ma che loro non potevano comunicarlo al cliente fin quando non si trovava in difficoltà.
L’unica soluzione che mi proponevano era di non usare la carta su Internet e di attendere 10 giorni una carta sostitutiva.
Nessuna scusa ne attenzione particolare per il disagio provocato da un loro errore. Anzi la sostituzione della carta difettosa era presentata come una prova del loro buon servizio.
Visto la quota associativa che viene richiesta da American Express (una delle più care sul mercato Italaino) mi sarei aspettata una gestione diversa del problema.
Se American Express Italia sa di avere parecchie carte difettose in circolazione perché non inviare una informazione a tutti. Ciò mi avrebbe messo in allerta e non avrei distrutto la mia vecchia carta funzionante.
Comunque ho deciso di disdire la carta. Non vedo perché pagare caro un servizio che non offre vantaggi come un’adeguata informazione e rapporto con il cliente.
Sono certa che American Express in America avrebbe affrontato il problema in modo diverso perché loro conoscono bene il significato della parola “costumer care”.

Statement Payment Date
1. Statement was dated as closing on 01/28/2011 but was received on 2/7/2011.
2. Changes announced with the Statement that was 11 pages long changed the terms of that payment due date to 10 days after the closing date of 02/13/2011.
3. Last month the due date was 25 days after the closing date.

If I hadn't picked that up I would have been charged a penalty and possibly a rate change.

They effectively change the payment due date which is against the new rules. They should have changed the statement closing date.

Reduced my credit line; Suspend the card
I used American Express Credit card for over 5 years, it is un-limited credit card. I always made full payment until last year my econimal situation became worse. However I still made payment to meet the minimum payment request every month. But American Express suddenly reduced my limit to $3000 and stopped my using cash advance, which resulted me big inconvenience.

This month, I have a statement, due day is Dec.10, 2010. I got the statement late and made payment exactly on Dec.10. Since this card is linked with my ESSO speedpass, I found I couldn't fill the gas with speedpass. then I realized this card was suspended. I also use this card for cell phone automatically payment etc. The suspending my card has brought me trouble, I have to call and change credit card. My question is even they didn't receive the payment on time, they can charge me interest, why should they suspend my card? (My balance is only $1400, the limit is $3000.)

I have made full payment and decided cancelling this card.

lowerin credit limit/late fee
About a year ago I signed up for the automatic payment with American Express, in Oct 08 I received a letter saying that my payment was late and I was getting charged a late fee. I called American Express and explained to them how I could not be late because I was actually in their automatic payment program. In other words, they have access to my bank account to take out my payment without me worrying right? Wrong. They stated it was a computer problem and they would fix everything. Well low and behold my interest went up the next month, which I called and complained. They lowered back where it was before. However, the next month I paid 10K off of my 17k bill and they immediately lowered my credit limit. The letter stated due to late payments and too much credit on other amex account which was a zero balance. ?? I called again and they said the computer automatically generated the lowering of the credit limit. OK but what about my credit score now? I was in the upper 700's but now that I started paying off my credit cards other credit companies have started to lower their limits as well. All this means is even though I'm paying off my credit cards and trying to be a good consumer I'm getting it in the ass in the end because my credit report is only going to show me being maxed out on my credit cards as long as they keep lowering the limits as soon as I pay something down. Does this sound ridiculous and illegal to anyone else?e

false pretense
American Express sent me an invitation offered credit cards application with deal that if I spend $500.00 before between December 1, 2008 to February 26, 2009 I can earn bonus points and be eligible for 2 domestic flight. I had bad experience with American Express once long time ago, but I though I give it a chance. I get approved for Rewards Plus Gold Card and earned 51, 007 points from spending according to agreement. On January 29, 2009, I received letter from American Express informed that my account has been canceled due to " I did not provide the financial document and/or income tax return information requested" and the letter also thread me with under these circumstances may result in negative reporting of this account to the consumer reporting agencies. When I applied for credit card all my personal information had been given included my work address and my home address. American Express keep sent the bills to my company head-quarter and were forward to my home address. Finally the last billing statement and the letter of cancellation come to my home address. My complaints is American Express offered with the false pretense for consumer to go and change on the credit card and then decided to cancelled the credit card and void the reward points. I was not late or over-due on the bill. I am suggesting that if anyone wants to have an American Express you might think before you do, don't waist you times and effort and get your blood pressure up for it.

they put my card on hold for no reason
my name is patricia banks i have a american express credit card i got my card on 04/25 /2008 on 04/26/2008 they put my card on hold saying that i had to send in document to tem i told them if there was something wrong i would not have gotten this card this have to stop and i have written Senate Jim Webb And on monday 04/28/2008 i am going to talk to my congress in my state because this have to stop trating people like they are nobody i will not let them treat me lke this and if i have to go to the high court there is i will fight for my right. you can not get a credit card if you dont have good credit and they have to get your credit report so if my card is not of hold by 04/28/2008 i hope Jim Webb contact them by then.
