Very scetchy
I was also recruited to come in for a position as a Manager and Training supervisor. As I had recently been laid off from a dedicated job so that the managers there could get their Christmas bonus [yes, they even told me that] I was interested.
I have tried at least 5 calls to get more information regarding pay and other specifics with no success. You see, I was driving and had to pull over just to write the time and address. Now, after researching various sites that warn us all about these places, I feel like I was scammed. Fortunately, I have not put out any money nor additional time to follow their pipe dream.
Let me advise you that when the "supportive" comments are written, they always have spelling errors, and various other forms of inconsistency. This is generally done by people who only work for a company for that purpose: to offset the negative comments. Usually, the comments supporting this company (like other such comments) are ranting and confrontational. This should tip off the intelligent people to "consider the source".
God bless you all and good luck in your endeavors.

PEOPLE COME ON!!! THERE IS NO SCAM!!! Do your REAL research... not what these losers couldnt handle because they couldnt make it... REALLY, are you serious... OMG!!!
Seriously... how could all over you really just do a one click and let the online scam make decisions for you? If that's the life you want to live then... go on ahead.
I would have to respond to all of you haters out there... Seriously, you have no clue what this company offers ... and for you to talk your f'kn BS shows everyone to believe you were in the company and couldn’t make it... because 1. You are too impatient, don't have patience... 2. You’re not leaders your followers 3. you don't produce you lose... and let’s not forget that this company is only for the "strong minded ones" ...you need to have some kind of goal and if you think that you are going to get a quick fix then you better work your ass hard to get there... because when you want something then you better go get the dayum thing done... Nothing is free in life ... if you really want to make the 60k or more then you better sit down, write a plan and start booking... life's a hustle, you better make sure your ready...especially if you want something that huge!! ...This company is sky’s the limit and I AM ONE OF THOSE "AIL" people... I love my job... and for someone who has had over 30 jobs in her life... and only 31 and has a 14 years old, 10 year old, and a 2 year old... lives on my own, and pays my own bills... knows this company does take care of her... BECAUSE I TAKE CARE OF THEM!!! I get $2800 a week because that's a part of hustling and guess what... that isn’t even my producing on appointments from performance... there is opportunity in this company! Take it or leave it... But just because you didn’t last... don't make yourself feel better and start advertising some bullshit when you never even really WORKED hard... Obviously you aren’t with them now...
I just hate shit talkers... anyways... after reading all this bullshit all your haters write... it's just simple - you have ALOT OF TIME ON YOUR HANDS... I'm writing this because it's my day off!
By the way... I do apologize for the not so professional manner BUT people got feelings... and I’m very impatient with the REJECTED.

form your own opinion
I agree that everyone has the right to post their opinions and experiences. But everyone also has the right to know the situation from both sides so they can best make an educated decision.
I worked in Healthcare for 10 years, you want a scam? Go do that for a while. Since I have come to American Income I have been a member of a solid supporting fun team. I have had the opportunity to travel and have gone to confereneces where I stayed in a 5 star hotel at no cost to me. I have also made for myself a very comfortable income, and I am only in my first year. I have recently been promoted.
No matter where you go any company will have its pros and cons. At the same time you really need to know yourself and what you are capable of. I can almost gaurantee that most of the complaints on here are by people who saw the opportunity to make a lot of money and when they didn't they got angry and have to point the finger at someone. They can't see in themselves why they were unable to be successful. I do feel for the people that genuinly may have had a negative experience, but please know that isn't the case right across the board. Don't let your experience hold someone else back from having a great experience.
This business is about accountability, responsibility, goals, and
hard work. You don't make big money by pumping gas do you? Of course not, it is a very easy job. Nothing great ever comes easy. So for those of you who expected a a get rich quick scheme, maybe you should research those work from home jobs, sounds about the pace that you require.
I was ready to work hard. I know what my goals are. And I made it what I WANTED to make it, and I have succeeded.
So before you judge, based on this website, please do your own research, attand your own interview.
Fun facts about AIL:
Yahoo.com named AIL top 10 companies to work for for several years in a row
When New Orleans was wiped out by the hurricane, AIL paid out millions to the policy holders, but waived everyone's premium for a full year
The benefits that AIL offers are designed to take care of families long term, not just in the immediate
The benefits that AIL offers are also not something that is provided by other benefits or insurance companies, they are somewhat unique.
Check it out for yourself, don't let someone else cloud your decision for you.

not true
the only complaint i have is all of the misleading information regarding this company that's posted on this website. American Income life is an insurance company that provides life and supplemental benefits to the citizens all across the united states, puerto rico, new zealand, etc... they have a training program to teach new people in the industry how to be successful and they give leads to agents that don't have a ton of friends and family to get started in the industry. for the entreprenuers that are willing to work diligently and remain consistent, there is not a better company to work for. the lifetime renewal contract is unique in the industry and what this company teaches is if you sell for the right reason and train your agents the right way, then this company will reward you and your generations for a lifetime of correct behavior. what the people need to know that visits websites such as this is every body has their niche' and if sales and entreprenuership is your niche', then look no further, call for an interview, get hired, and go to work. one fact is, with american income, you never have to worry about getting a pink slip because of the economy. the company is breaking production and retention records every month. you can follow people full of excuses and points fingers at other people for their shortcummings, i had rather follow people that are getting results and taking personal responsibility for themselves.

No a complaint just to warn people about them
August 13, 2009. Something is not ligit about American Income Life. I just receive a email from them. They started by addressing me as:
Attention Career Seeker,
Recently, we received your application / resume from one of the Job Boards that our company works. It went on to state that it had a job opening and urged me to call immediately to schedule an interview with Regional Manager, Anderson Sooknanan nad provided the name of Marsha Diaz, Ext 227, who is suppose to be the Asst. Dir of HR.
I contacted her and kindly informed her not to send me any randam email, because, had I indeed responded to one of their advertisement, I would have had to provide at least my name and telephone number. Something they did not have. Surprise, Surprise, she hung up on me.
NO LIGITIMATE COMPANY WOULD DO THAT. As I stated, I was not rude or anthying.

Bad Mouthed Rep
I had been without work for a few months after being laid off from my ten year position in the Electronics field. I had seen an ad on Craigslist and decided to send my resume because it said it was a Union job. I thought it was odd because the name of the company sounded like an insurance company. I have been a long time member of the union for Electician and HVAC and never heard of an insurance brokers union. But, being desperate for work, I decided to send my resume. I got a call back from a rep named Craig. First, he acknowledged that he received my resume from Craigslist and they wanted me to come in for an interview. He then told me that I would be meeting with an Ernesto and to bring an extra copy of my resume, and dress professionally. Pretty much red flags up to this point because I've been duped like this before. Why would they have to tell me to "dress professionally if they had seen my resume and know I have been working in a professional field for a long time. You usually tell that to snot nose kids still living with their parents, chasing the drea of easy riches. So, I asked him what the position was for and if he received my resume, do I really need to bring another one? He said all my questions would be answered by Ernesto and that he was just setting interviews. So, to indulge my curiosity and with really nothing to do, I decided to check them out. The interview was pretty funny. I was dressed in a nicer suit than the guy who interviewed me but I was polite and heard his pitch. Well, that was exactly what it was, a pitch! I then asked him what the job title was and he said that I would be training for a Managers position and would be building my own team. Then I advised him I had applied for a Customer Service position, not a Managers position. He did't have an answer for that so I decided to throw another question. I asked what the pay was. He sits back in his chair and begins to tell me that if I hustle, I could make a million dollars in my first year. I laughed and asked, "So, this is a commission based position, right?" He explained that yes, this was a commissoned based position and would later turn into an hourly plus commisssion. I pulled out the craigslist ad and showed him what I had read. His smile turned into a frown and told me that I probably wasn't a good fit for the company. I laughed and asked, "What comapny, buddy?" I grabbed my "fresh" resume from his desk, thanked him and left. I told others in the waiting room that this was an employment scam and to rethink applying. Three others around my age walked out.

Scam
I went to one of their so-called interviews, in which they gave a presentation that reminded me of an infomercial. There were so many other "candidates" there, it was like a seminar. They claimed agents could make over a million dollars in their first year, and that was when I decided there was no way it was legitimate. I can't believe companies can get away with deception like that. If this was such a great company to work for, why would they have to make up ridiculous lies and try to sell their jobs in large seminars? The reason is because it is a pyramid scheme. My advice: stay away from American Income Life. Also, I am copying Monster.com's advice for dealing with possible fraud below, so that the people who post here can officially file complaints of possible fraud:
"How to Report Possible Fraud
* File a complaint online with the FTC or call toll-free (877) FTC-HELP (877-382-4357).
* Notify the state attorney general's office where you live and where the business-opportunity promoter is based.
* Call your county or state consumer protection agency, listed in the phone book's blue pages under county and state government.
* Alert the Better Business Bureau in your community and where the promoter is based."

Scam
Despite what they say, American Income Life, is NOT registered with the American Insurance Assoc. This company is a scam. I work for Prudential Life and Casualty, and hear about dissatisfied customers that have been scammed by this company all the time. I decided to check this American Income Life out for myself; I interviewed for a sales position, and was told that I could make tons of money each month. The reality is that this company is commission based, and you have to get hard working individuals, with little to no former education, to believe that you are looking out for their best interest by selling them “Peace of Mind”. The company takes the money from these individuals, invest it for themselves, and make the claim process so difficult that most 92.7% of all claims that are filed are denied benefits. If the insured dies, there is no payout to the family, if a claim is pending and the individual dies, the claim is automatically declined. The employees of American insurance Assoc, work long hours and the commission is not worth the effort. There is a large employee turn-over with this company, and most people only stay up to a year.

Fired for no reason
I was hired as an Insurance Agent for American Income Life in Dallas, Texas. I moved to Dallas from out of town on my dime. Stayed in a Hotel at my expense for a week during training. My first full week in the field I made my quota with the gas bonus included. The second week I did 50% of quota and put 1000 miles on my car, had 23 appointments, 30 % cancellations which is normal. The 3rd week of my Monday Noon Sales meetings I was kept around until 4pm and then fired my Manager who never spent one hour in the field with me.
The trainer I had was shocked and didn't understand why this happened to me. Beware of the Hernadiez Agency in Dallas Texas.
