HR CALL
I GOT THE SAME CALL FROM A HR REP CLAIMING THEY SAW MY RESUME ONLINE. I BIT BECAUSE I LIKE THE OTHERS NEEDED A JOB AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. I WAS SUSPIOUS AS WELL WHEN SHE SAID SHE COULD GIVE ME THE DETAILS OF THE POSITION, AFTER I STATED I WAS NOT INTERESTED IN SALES OR TELEMARKING. I SET THE INTERVIEW A WHOLE DAY AWAY TO GOGGLE THE NAME AND I CAN ACROSS THESE COMPLAINTS POSTED.
THANKS TO ALL WHO POSTED. YOU SAVED ME TIME AND MONEY!!!

Scam
I, too, was duped by a phone call suggesting that the manager, Mr. "Star", was interested in my resume. Upon further discussion with the "interview-setting-person", something just didn't sound right - in particular, it sounds like she had not even read my resume. This morning I woke up early to prepare for my 9:00 a.m. (seems to be the theme for most of us) interview when I decided to check this company out. Thank God I did (wish I'd done it last night - I'd have slept in). I sincerely appreciate all of your comments and appreciate this Web site. I may have wasted a great deal of time on this SCAM. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your comments.

You all never even gave it a chance
All those who never even came into the interview based on people who are to lazy and could and would not do there job at American income and then put down the company, you are all unprofessional, lazy and just pure stupid and those who don't even have a job and never even called in to cancel and never showed honestly it just shows how lazy you really are and the job sites you are posted on now have a history on all those who never even gave the company a professional courtesy to call and cancel it now shows on monster and career builder for other employers to see. As for AIL they are a great company that watches out for each other and helps you out when you are down. They provide you with all the tools you need and at the same time you are helping blue collar people protect there family if something happens to the bread winner of the house. They are not a scam they even work with the police department to get child safety kits to you. Plus if they were a scam companies like Giant Eagle, Police departments, and fire departments would not have them as their benefit representatives. If even one of you were smart you would know better than to base going to an interview on this bull on the internet because every single company you go to an interview for has negative things written about them on the internet and is 90% of past employees pissed because they were caned because they were to lazy and unprofessional to keep in that company. I dare you to do the right thing and stop listening to the negative and make an effort to learn the truth and positive from those who are with the company (any company) because we are the truth. I am a great example because they are helping me with a job till I get my license and they have always been extremely respectful to me and everyone else plus they believe in you when no other company will get past the stupid resume. Resumes don't tell a company anything about you as a person and you can never get a manager position without having experience but how can you get experience if no one will even give you that chance and so you continue to be a pee on at every company you work at. That is where AIL is different they don't care about the experience they care about the person you are and they look in-between the lines and see your true potential. I have so many health problems and they don't care that I've had to take my time to get my license or that I need to take a day off, all the other companies treated me like hell because I have medical conditions. AIL treats me like everyone else and didn't dump me over emergencies, or doctors appointments. I can guarantee any company you work for would fire within the first 90 days if you missed a couple of days even if it was because you were in the hospital, they don't care but AIL does. Maybe you need to see if they will give you another chance to be interviewed. I know I could get you back in but please don't be stupid again and base your choices on the opinions of others that just makes you part of the flock and not an independent thinker and leader./
You can always call in and I will set you back in for 1 last chance at an interview to change your life from the monotonous to the exciting and make the money to prove how great you really are compared to those who give up or never even try.

First I would like to thank everyone tho has posted. I just recived a call 15 min ago from a Jennifer at american Income, # 888-252-3550 ex 537, she advised me she pulled my resume from monster and left me a VM with her #, I called back left her a message and was some what thrilled becasue I need a job. I then got on line and decided to google the company so I could know what they were about and I found all these posts thanks you all for saving me time and money. If she calls me back I am going to ask some pretty tough questions just to see how they wiggle out of answering, then I am going to call my local news here and leave a message on the story line, Money is soo tight right now and to make somone waste time and money for gas to drive some where on hopes of employement is Wong on soo many levels thanks again!

weird
I too was contacted by an HR rep. from American Income. He called from his cell phone to my home at 9:00 at NIGHT!!! I thought that was odd from the beginning. I have been in the job search for a while now and they call your home late at night. He wanted me to come in for an interview the next morning. I could not... So, I have an interview next Thursday. I have read every complaint on the website and my conversativation matches everyone elses. So, therefore I am not wasting my time with this interview next week. I thank everyone for putting their comments on here. I would wasted a great deal of time and money if it wasn't for everyone posting their experiences.

Thanks you
I am so glad my husband checked this place out online. I had an interview set up for tomorrow 2/10/09 and I am no longer going. 51 complaints about a company is not a fluke. I even went as far as to put in multiple company's I had previously worked for and company's I had never worked for on this website and NO ONE had a complaint. OMG thank you everyone for commenting on this place.

Hiring Scam
I received a phone call from a Ms. Solomon from AIL claiming she had gotten my resume off of Monster.com and wanted me to come in for an interview. She set up a time for me to come in for an interview later in the week. I thought it was weird when she told me to dress professionally for the interview, so I did some research on the net and found complaints about them. Also, I realized this was probably sales at best and that is just not my type of job.

I decided I did not want anything to do with this type of job and wanted to cancel the interview. I realized I had not gotten a phone number from Ms. Solomon, so I looked up the American Income Life and could not find a number for them at the location Ms. Solomon had given me for the interview. I called the 1-800 number on their web site (only number listed) and explained I wanted to cancel my interview. The woman (or very inexperienced girl) took my name and phone number.

Then, the day before the scheduled interview, I get a voice mail from someone else at American Income (Gina) saying she had received my resume and wanted to schedule an interview. Right behind that voice mail was a reminder voice mail from Ms Solomon about the scheduled interview!

I tried to call Ms Solomon back using the phone number on my caller id and got a fax machine. I didn't bother to call the other person back.

I went back on the net and did even more research and found MANY complaints about this company and their hiring tactics. I feel really lucky I did not waste my time on even that first interview.

It is hard enough to be out of a job and trying to find a new one without companies like this trying to trick you into coming into an interview.

False Hope
So I read some of the posted complaints about American Income and the so-called job opportunities that they call and try to sell you on!! I too received a call this morning from a "representative" from this company who also found my resume on Monster.com and felt that I was a "perfect fit" to be a manager for American Income.
Apparently these so-called "reps" do read from a script because I was told word for word what all of the other "perfect fits" were told; show up dressed professionally and bring in a hard copy of my resume to interview for the manager position.
I am so GLAD that I did my research on this company prior to showing up at my first interview tomorrow morning!! I will not be showing up for this interview nor can I cancel my appointment because as another one of the people who has complained said. . . .no voicemail to leave a message on and now no one is answering the "business phone?!?!"
Thanks for the forum to get this information out there to those of us who are looking for REAL employers and who don't have the time to mess around with a joke like this!!

Hiring practices
After reading all of these complaints about American Income, I had to write you all about my own personal experiences with the company. 10 months ago, I closed down my company, Pro Vision Staffing Group. In short order, my house was on the verge of being foreclosed on, and I had no hope for possibly earning enough to pay my bills for myself and my daughter, who was 1 yr old at the time. On a whim, I answered an ad that was posted on craigslist, offering a position as a union enroller for $700 per week. I went in for the interview, and I was intrigued by the mere hope of being able to start a business for myself, with the support of a larger team. I took my last $500, and used it to put myself through insurance school and pay for my license.

Fast forwarding to today, my house is out of foreclosure, and bit by bit I am putting my life back together. I am paid an almost obscene amount of money for meeting with families who are just like me, working hard every day hoping that the future will be better for their children. Has it been easy, no! I work retail hours, sometimes 60 hours or more a week. My managers push me daily past my comfort zone, and I am achieving more success than I ever believed was possible.

One thing I would advise though, is that you find the right office, that has the right managers to train you properly to succeed. All of my success is based on the fact that my manager is the kind of person that I would call to come pick me up at 3 AM when my car breaks down. He is on the grind from 8 am to 11 and always picks up when I call. I have seen more people with more experience than me, and more talent fail because their manager failed to manage them properly. I will never be an employee again, and I will never work for another company again.

If you have the right manager training you, and are willing to work harder than you ever have before, you will be successful in this business.

I am a real person, my name is Ini Augustine, and American Income changed my life. You can google me if you like, I have the credentials, know how and experience to know that this opportunity has changed my life, and it can change yours too.

Unethical job interviewing!
I received a voicemail on the morning of 9 April 2008 from a woman identifying herself as Brigit Fisher from Human Resources at American Income. Ms. Fisher said in her message that an identified "senior manager" had seen my resume on the web, and was interested in interviewing me for a job.

I was curious (or gullible) enough to call back, and Ms. Fisher's behavior made me suspicious immediately. She did not recognize my name, she had not seen my resume, and she was vague about the position's requirements. When I asked her if she could send me a description of the position's requirements, she said she was "unable" to do that. She then asked if she could schedule me for an interview, and I said yes, but she refused to give me any contact information on the "senior manager" who would supposedly be interviewing me. I was simply given the address of an office in Edison, to show up there "dressed professionally, " and instructed to call Ms. Fisher's cell number if I had any questions. (I did get the "senior manager's" name, and it was Ms. Fisher's sister.) Ms. Fisher couldn't even give me American Income's website; she just suggested I Google it. Not exactly the sort of thing that inspires confidence in a prospective employee.

I checked out the Complaints Board, and my suspicions about Ms. Fisher and American Income were confirmed in no uncertain terms. People who have actually hit the bait and attended these interviews tell stories of being asked to fork over fees for "training" and other things, and have generally reported frustration, misleading claims, dishonest treatment, etc.

I have a feeling I didn't make much of a mistake when I decided to blow off this interview. I'd say that the most critical skepticism is warranted when it comes to dealing with American Income.
