American Kitchen Refacing does not honor or abide by its contract. April 6, 2010 they were contracted to install a granite counter top and shelving unit to support the countertop. They did a good job up to the final installation of the granite. When first discussing what type of edge for the countertop a half bull nose was picked, but then they showed us an Ogee edge and the contract was changed to that edge. The Ogee edge would match the edge we already had on small table in the kitchen. They came and installed the top but the edge was wrong, it was the bull nose edge. We were not there when they installed it so we did not have the opportunity to stop them from installing it. Also the shelving unit that they installed was of very poor quality and the laminate is already peeling away. We called them when we saw the wrong edge and they stated that we had changed the order verbally. We did not do that and their contract specifically states no verbal changes will be adhered too or allowed.
Only the written contract was valid. We told them that the contract specifically stated an Ogee edge and we spoke about the wording of their contract. After the first call they would not answer or speak to us again. They refused all mailed notices and did not respond to any faxes. They are just hoping that we go away.
We are not going away and will pursue this issue with the better business bureau and small claims court. If American Kitchen Refacing wishes to resolve this issue they can contact me at 856-339-3257
