No refund
Class action suit info for everyone tired of fighting with ALC on their own. Her e-mail is: [email protected]. ALC is the most unethical and deceptive company that continues to scam people out of their money by selling services that don't even work.

class action in Texas
There was a reference here about a lawyer who was looking into a class action suit, who I have now contacted. He is gathering information to look at a class action lawsuit in Texas. If you are located here, please send your information and brief description of your experience to [email protected] so that we can try to stop this company from preforming either useless or sometimes dangerous procedures for a large profit. Thanks

Ripped off
This company ripped me and my friend off for a total of $5000. Their treatments do NOT work! Signed up, a year later, NOTHING. Not one less hair! When we attempted to speak with them about this issue, they just gave us the run around. NEVER SAW ANY RESULTS!!! NOTHING. Now we are trying to get our money back, and they are obviously used to this because they just give us the run around. They consistently lie to get us to be quiet. This company is pathetic. They are deceitful and if you are thinking of doing business with them, please RUN.

Please stop being negative!
If you truly had a bad experience you are entitled to your complaint but it is just plain evil to throw a company under the bus the way some of you have. There is a such thing called ACCOUNTABILTY!! No one forced any of you to sign up and I bet a few of you are blowing things out of proportion. I have a friend interested in services and she told me about this site and was scared to death. I have been a satisfied client for 11 months now and I am seeing amazing results. There are very little things you can spend 1000 dollars on and it will last you the rest of your life. The staff at my clinic is professional and courteous. I have had to change my schedule around because I travel and they have ALWAYS been helpful. For those of you reading this site to make up your mind about whether to choose American Laser please keep in mind for every bad experience there are hundreds of great ones. This is a complaints board. Please feel free to email me if you want to know more about my great experience. Have a wonderful day!

Fraud and scam
Thank you so m uch... this site saved me... just saturday night i signed up for a free consult at ALC... and they called at 10:30 pm to talk to me... call went to voicemail... and she emailed me saying how she called and all... so i replied asking questions... this is all sunday... then today at work. I opened my email around 8 and saw that emailed me at 7 in the morning... saying the i won the third prize which is $300... trust i was excited so i replied saying yes i would like to use it and etc... so she mailed me back saying if i get the consult today or tomorrow (because she had empty appointment slots to fill) that i would receive extra $100 off my package... so i got excited and scheduled an appt with her for tomorrow to get the 100 dollars off... so right now i was about to go to bed, i was telling my mom about the appt and discount... when she asked me is the laser system that they use actually gud?? So i decided to research ALC a little more... and found this site... i read every single complaint... and every single one almost starts out like my situation does.. $300 -third prize winner and such... it also hit me that i entry 8 months ago on a contest for ALC.. and they are now telling me that i won... weird... so i just finished emailing the rep at ALC... 10:25pm... telling her that i am canceling my session... THANK YOU PEOPLE FOR SAVING ME!!! REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE IT...

Horrible Experience
I won a $300.00 discount. I went in for a free consultation. Everything was bad. The decor looked like they were about to evacuate. Getting an idea of cost was the equivalent to buying a used car. The absolute worst part was the "demo". The laser literally burned my face in 3 places. I hope it doesn't scar. All of this for a ridiculously over-priced package. "Buy and save, " they said. Save your face and save your money. Stay away. There are quite a few reputable spas in this area with better equipment, service, surroundings and prices.

Illegal Services Performed by Estheticians
AT AMERICAN LASER CENTERS, ESTHETICIANS ARE PERFORMING PROCEDURES ARE NOT LAWFULLY ABLE TO PERFORM.

I WAS READING SOME UPDATES THAT TEXAS DEPARTMENT LICENSING & REGULATIONS HAS MADE. FOR THOSE OF YOU IN THE ESTHETICS INDUSTRY, YOU SHOULD READ THIS AND WATCH YOUR BACK. EMPLOYERS WILL TRY TO MAKE YOU DO THINGS THAT ARE NOT UNDER THE REALM OF YOUR LICENSE! YET WHEN YOU GET CAUGHT, YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN. TDLR WILL COME AFTER YOU. . . .

9. As a facialist in a medical spa, may I perform laser hair removal, laser resurfacing, or laser teeth whitening through delegation or supervision by a physician, nurse, or dentist?

NO. A facialist specialty license does not authorize facialists to use lasers, including lasers for hair removal, skin resurfacing, or teeth whitening. To the extent, if any, that a physician may delegate the use of lasers to a non-medical licensee, please contact the Texas Medical Board at 512-305-7030 or 1-800-248-4062 or at http://www.tmb.state.tx.us. To the extent, if any, that a dentist may delegate the use of lasers to a non-dental licensee, please contact the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners at 512-463-6400 or at http://www.tsbde.state.tx.us. To the extent, if any, that a nurse may delegate the use of lasers to a non-nurse licensee, please contact the Board of Nurse Examiners at 512-305-7400 or at http://www.bne.state.tx.us.

10. If I hold a facialist license, may I perform additional procedures (procedures not authorized by my facialist specialty license) because I work with or am supervised by a licensed medical doctor or nurse?

No, a facialist specialty license does not authorize a facialist to perform additional procedures or a more advanced or expanded scope of practice depending on the facialist’s place of employment or title of employer.

Lasers

15. Does my facialist specialty license authorize me to perform laser hair removal?

No, a facialist specialty license does not authorize the use of lasers. Under 16 T.A.C. 83.10(8), a facialist may temporarily remove hair by depilatory, mechanical tweezers, or wax. Laser hair removal is not a temporary hair removal method, and cannot be performed by facialists.

16. Does my facialist specialty license authorize me to perform laser skin resurfacing?

No, a facialist specialty license does not authorize a facialist to use lasers. Laser skin resurfacing methods affect areas of live tissue below the epidermis. Facialists may remove dead skin cells, but may not affect or treat live tissue. You may learn more information from the Texas Medical Board at 512-305-7030 or 1-800-248-4062 or at http://www.tmb.state.tx.us.

17. Does my facialist specialty license authorize me to perform laser teeth whitening?

No, a facialist specialty license does not authorize a facialist to use lasers. You may learn more information about laser teeth whitening from the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners at 512-463-6400 or at http://www.tsbde.state.tx.us.

Unregulated Services

20. Does my facialist specialty license authorize me to perform body wraps?

No, a facialist specialty license does not authorize facialists to perform body wraps. Under Occupations Code, Sections 1602.257 and 1602.002(a)(7), facialists may only beautify a person’s face, neck or arms. However, as of the date of this publication, the department is not aware that body wraps are a regulated service in Texas. If unregulated, any person may provide body wrap services.

Delegation to facialists

7. Can a doctor delegate cosmetology procedures in a salon to a facialist?

No. Regardless of a facility’s name (salon, medical office, medispa, etc.), a facialist may lawfully practice under the facialist specialty license in an establishment that holds a cosmetology salon license, without delegation. In fact, a doctor cannot delegate cosmetology procedures. A doctor may delegate only medical procedures in accordance with the laws and rules relating to the medical license. Also, under Occupations Code, Section 1602.403, a salon must, at all times, be under the direct supervision of a cosmetologist.

Canceled appointments!
I signed up for an unlimited laser hair removal package a year and a half ago, 2 out of the 4 sessions I have gone to were rescheduled multiple times. I began requesting a refund almost a year ago. I've heard an unlimited number of excuses as to why they can't keep an appointment. After almost a dozen appointments have been canceled on me at the last minute, I'm going to be working with a 4th regional manager (assuming they ever call me back). It's an extremely unprofessional and unacceptable level of customer service.

Branch closed down and I want my money back
The branch near where I live closed down without ALC notifying me. Back in January I left 3 messages til someone from customer service called back (they called me back more than 2 weeks later). Then they said the branch would open back up in April after renovations...I stopped by there yesterday (FYI it is now May) and the place is being torn down. I want my money back! I am not driving 45-60 min away to another branch. It's not my fault you guys closed down the branch near where I live. If you haven't noticed, gas prices are at about $4.00 a gallon. I payed in full and you guys haven't completed my treatment. I left another message just recently for customer service but if I dont get a response or get a BS response I am going to get a lawyer.

Deceptive Practices & Unprofessional Treatment!
I bought a $1, 600 package for laser hair removal in Miami Florida over 2 years ago and have only received 4 treatments since because no one ever shows up for the appointments. Out of 25 appointments I have only had someone show up 4 times!! I sit in the office for hours and it's empty, no one shows up. I leave voicemails and post-its at the Miami office and no one calls me back. I already paid and have made numerous phone calls and left 100's of messages on the corporate voicemail and have NEVER heard back from them.

I feel cheated and outraged over having to deal with this kind of scam-like business.

If anyone figures out how to reach an actual person please email me. I would love to join some sort of class action so if anyone knows of this please let me know as well.
